I think what could be cool, if you did host a server, is we could have a Sunday evening race of the car and track we've just spent the week time-trialing - if we look at how close the times get, there could be some epic racing.

OK - you're going to have to download this car but it's really worth it - it's a hoot...

http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/fc1-2009-w...

...and we're going to Spa!

Let this run until next Sunday.

Btw, changed my profile name to 'FunBum' and no one ever tells me off if I do something dodgy online - it's awesome!

I'm top 15 on RSR with that time.

It's going to be tough for me to get any better.

That's a pretty quick time! With practise I'm sure I could knock half a second or so off my time, which was an early effort admittedly, but I doubt I'd get down to your time. The one thing that was losing me a lot of time was 1st gear - I found it very hard to judge how much throttle to use and if I gave it too much it just speared off the track.
You're also using the Stage 1 car - I'm using Standard.

yes Yes, sorry about that, I wasn't sure and assumed everyone would be using the one with more power. Feel free to remove my time. Sadly I'm too busy with my spare time job this week to have another go, but I may find the time.

Did you have that issue in 1st gear? I wonder if it's a stage 1 thing. I've not found it in any other cars, real or sim based.
I have it set up so the gearing is very high, and I pull out of corners in the highest gear I can without it bogging down.

I'll have a bash tonight and see if I can do a competitive time again and record it with ShadowPlay.

I'll also post my set up.

Where is the car listed? I can't see it listed on the website.

I haven't been able to find it either but It's what RSR says in-game.

No.12 on RSR - and there is still more to come. I completely wimped out on the last few corners because I didn't want to ruin the lap.

Replay rendering now - will upload later.

I'm going to download the Suzuka mod.

If I come out on top with this, and the track is good, this is where we're going next.

Yes and no.

Trust me I'm working hard to stay just the right side of lots of slippage!

A good example is at 1:07 - I realise that I haven't quite turned in enough so I'm a little more brutal with the throttle to get the back to move and to turn faster. There's plenty of play in this car and it's still very easy to get caught out when 'on it'.

Seems this one has gone to Ash! Congrats mate - I didn't have time over the weekend to try and improve which was a bugger as I really wanted to break the 45 second barrier.

Your choice - car & track combo for this week.

Ok this week's challenge:

After hearing about some stunning lap times set in the projectile, the Aussie's have challenged us to provide some hot laps at Mount Panorama in a classy British racer, the Lotus 49, as a support feature for their V8 supercars.

Bathurst track download link:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/2dhb6bowrsmuen4/...

Extract with RARZilla freeware (or similar) and put the track folder in:
Steam\SteamApps\common\assettocorsa\content\tracks

I've done a quick sighting lap and the world record is ours for the taking. Gentlemen, start your engines! cool
Should be rather interesting!

I will be crap at this hehe

Just had a quick go - 14 seconds off but not bad on a track I've never driven on before! Didn't hit a single apex hehe

Great fun - love the noise too!

So... you know the turny bit, you can't get that 'a little bit' wrong can you...

Also, really increased the speed of the steering - now I can hits apexes much better and catch the slides. Completely different now.

Just got to get through the turny bit - I think I'm trying too hard.

I need to chase you down smile

Crazy car.

I can't express how much respect I have for the guy that drove these back in the late 60's.
