Well, I think that's me done for this challenge. I've had a few glasses of wine now and my chances of bettering 1:44.380 is diminishing with every sup.

Good luck all!

Andy - that is a cool last sector.

All I can add is we're going to have some awesome racing down the line.

Excellent stuff Andy.

Looking forward to the next track/car combo.

Also, as said, I think we're going to have some very close racing down the line between us.

Interesting car - really needs to be balanced through every stage of the corner.

I've done a fair few laps now, some completed hehe and it's actually quite fun. The quickness does come from being very clean but you can have some heroic drifting. The tyres have a very small window of being perfect and it really hates too much sliding about.

That double apex corner towards the end is a bh!

I tell you one thing, I always thought something like an Exige was meant to be a scalpel in a world of spoons but if they drive like that in real life then I'd never want one - I drive a Cayman S with a pointy aggressive geo set up (compared to stock), having done thousands of kilometers on track and if it behaved as poorly as this Lotus seems to, I would have sold it immediately.

I don't think it's that bad. It's not as sharp as what I'd imagine it to be like - but we've all just been driving the FXX thing about for a week. Go to the M3 and then back to the Exige and I think you'll see it's fairly good.

Only problem I can find so far (apart from the odd weight transfer) is that once it's lost a bit of grip in a corner, the next two seem to be slid-around rather than driven around, a bit like Forza Motorsport. It's hard to pull it back on-line.

Still fun, though.
Fair point about the FXX comparison but it seems to have a tiny window of 'balance' otherwise it's as you say - get it even a wee bit out of shape there's very little you can do to smooth out the next set of corners.

I'll hopefully get a few hours later to try and get on top of the car.

Has anyone had any luck in dialing out the 'oddness'?

Had a quick 15mins before bed last night. Interesting track to set the car up for - very fast sections with a number of twisty bits.

Nice one Andy - your choice.

Out of curiosity - what aero settings were people using?

Jesus titty fking christ!

These tyres only do one of three things at any given time - go in a straight line badly, brake badly or turn badly.

I've tried everything to no avail.

I look at the brake pedal and it locks up. I think about braking and it locks up before I've even touched the pedal! I've tried different gamma settings, different deadzones etc... nothing helps - that's why I've given up on most of the challenges - it's undrivable for me.

The web doesn't help. Just says adjust the gamma and deadzones.

Guess I'll have to wait until I can invest in a new pedal set, if I'm still interested.

New G27 set up.

I'll try the calibration brake pump and see if that helps.

I'll hopefully have a chance to have another wee go tonight but I'm traveling for a week, flying late this evening.

Anyway - I still managed to put a lap together last night which was basically braking a mile before each corner.

There's tons of time there if I can become confident with the braking.

I love the car - it might be slidey but it's beautifully balanced.

I'm gutted that I can't compete more on this track, however, I'm at the airport on my way for a week's skiing in Austria.

Hmmmmmm....
