A few more laps for me - I think there's still some time to come.

Would love to see kars' lap.

yes Definitely more time to come here too, if I can string my best sectors together. I'd like to see Kar's lap as well - any chance of a video Kars?

Just had another go:

Asterix James Hartnell 1:51.447 0:36.434 0:41.979 0:33.034

It's fascinating how the feelings of driving an old then a new BMW in real life are replicated in the sim when we go from E30 M3 to 1M. I can almost feel that huge soft leather rim, muffled engine note and huge wheels underneath me hehe

Improved time but with a very scruffy overall lap. Apart from the middle sector the others were my worst so there must be time to find.

Thanks for the video. Fascinating! Don't take this the wrong way, but you're braking a little earlier than me and coming on the throttle quite a bit later, yet the lap is two seconds quicker! I'll watch against one of my replays tomorrow to find out what's happening :-) Thanks for taking the time to make a video.

I remember a story from Jackie Stewart saying that during a race at Monaco him and his team mate were asked to slow down as they were so far ahead of the pack and wanted to preserve the car and reduce the risk of coming off, they started breaking a bit earlier and softer, and feeding the throttle in a lot slower on the way out of the corners and their lap times were actually dropping as they had become so much smoother.

Good news Kegetys has fixed the Joux Plane smile

Finally got around to fix the issues in Joux Plane with the recent Assetto Corsa early access versions causing collision problems in some parts of the track. There were some leftover triangles under the track in a few places from lower LOD level mesh used originally by RBR.

A few other improvements are included also, changelog for version 1.3:

Removed some remnants of low detail geometry under the track causing collision issues with newer AC versions
Broken track section no longer adds dirt to tyres
All grass is now valid track to avoid penalty from small cuts
Added more zoomed in external cameras

Still not totally happy with steering setup, currently trying this below. Which took 2 seconds off my first practice laps (using previous settings) with the 1M at Mugello.

Everyone says set the logitech windows settings to 900 and check the allow game to over ride settings, but not matter what degree rotation I set on the games setting it's still 900 when I drive. I hate 900 degrees, it's like sailing a ship.

On the previous settings I had filter 0 damping 0 and gain 50, perhaps a bad option now, but didn't effect me too badly with the Lotus 49 as I could throttle steer that a fair bit, the Taatus again having down force wasn't much of an issue but anything road related has been like working like a lumber jack, sawing away at everything with random snap oversteer. I like it a bit calmer with minimal steering input. It might still be partly my old wheel related but I think I am getting on top of this now.

What are your settings out of interest?

I've had this sim up and running about a week or two and I've been hammering silverstone international in the BMW E30 as its the closest to what I will be racing there in April, I'm currently in consistent 1:20s in pro settings and improving every time I go on it, any chance someone could post a low 1:19 lap up? It would be nice to see different people's techniques.

I use fast rack to, my method >
For example - I set 520 degrees in logitech profiler and then set the same degrees in game and you will get the fast rack, but it's critical to disable virtual wheel, because it will not mach up to your wheel.

Hi there, I'll try both options later.

Kars, I have been going through a process of setting 270, 350, 400 and others in windows and the same in game. I always used 270 in Windows with rFactor and then changed the steering ratio of the car. I find one setting that seems to work with one car doesn't with another so I'm going in and out the game trying to find what the current car likes.

I think I have hit on something with the damping adjustments above I no longer get random steering issues and I get more feel as well (also pedal line is no longer linear but back to the default 2.40 curve). Yep, I always disable the steering wheel too smile

Just a case now of making improvements on lap time now my wheel isn't trying to kill me on every corner exit so I can bring more exit speed into my laps, I don't like being bottom.

Need to be fresh and alcohol free tomorrow I think. I'm also driving on bonnet cam now.
