It was just a spring upgrade.

It's rather good, if you have a G25/G27.

I like it a lot.

We might laugh but I was thinking of buying a Nixim one:

Oh, a "threshold buffer"!

So unless there's any updates, looks like I pipped it!

If that's the case then I'm going to choose a slightly different format for this one as all the cars seem pretty much the same, time wise, but they all drive differently so there should be one that suits everyone.

GT3 Class at Silverstone, full track.

So you can choose any of the GT3 cars - BMW, Nissan, Mercedes or McLaren.

The Z4 is great fun, not sure on the others yet. I put in a 2:11 as a sighter but can see 10's of seconds left yet.

Weird one - my first and last sectors are only the odd tenth off the top guys yet I'm a full second off in the middle.

Need to get the right lines.

Thanks - that's of even more interst to me, because I have a G27 that's otherwise perfect, so wouldn't want to change the whole setup.

I'd really like to have a go at this week's hot lapping, but I'm really busy - we'll see if I get time! I love your idea of picking a class and having a choice of cars.

Can't help but go sideways into the corners... The Z4 seems to be very forgiving (and fun).

Is interest waning?

Rob, get it, night and day difference for very little outlay.

I've joined up with the Race Department guys. First club race tonight. Most of the field are top ten RSR guys, often holding the World Records! Talk about baptism fire!

Not for me, just haven't got the time at the moment to put a decent number of laps in.

Might get chance the Sunday.

Me neither, but to be honest, if I do find the time I'm more inclined to keep chipping away at last week's Imola one. Just as I start to improve at something, the challenge changes.

Maybe a variable-length cycle would help, i.e. leave it running for a couple of weeks if there isn't much activity? All you have to avoid is the situation where someone puts in a good time & declares it over.

On a different note, these upgraded springs - do they require more than the carpet grip as a means of keeping the pedals in place? I saw the NIXIM review said that the extra force really requires that they're mounted, which I can't do.

Same here, since this is a multi-GT3 car challenge I think it should stay open longer, give everyone the time to try all the GT3 cars.

Managed a 2:08.014 in the Z4 but must have used a bit too much curb somewhere, AC accepts it but RSR is not showing.
Only 5 seconds to find and I know I lost at least 1 on the final corner with a massive wobble, fishtailing to the line smile
Happy to run longer as there is clearly lots more for me to learn!

I've just had a quick go:

I've definitely got about a second to gain on that by getting a good lap in. I'm not sure I can get under 2:03 though!

The Z4 is all about getting the front end to bite. Once that's done it's actually solid and stable through the rest of the turn and easy to get the power down.

Quite an improvement, must admit changing to the soft tyres that are almost 2 secs a lap quicker may have made a slight difference...
