OK - you're going to have to download this car but it's really worth it - it's a hoot...

...and we're going to Spa!
Let this run until next Sunday.
Btw, changed my profile name to 'FunBum' and no one ever tells me off if I do something dodgy online - it's awesome!
Thanks Bum Fun. I'm downloading now, so hopefully I'll have some time to have a go this week. http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/fc1-2009-w...

Do you know how to download the updates? I'm downloading the main 202Mb V0.9 zip file and it mentions two updates, but there don't seem to be download links for them.
Here's my first stab. I reckon there's loads more time in it if you had the reaction times and the patience!
The splits are marked 'n/a' because I can't find my lap on the timing website, even though it's timing in-game.
Edited on Saturday lunchtime to upload a faster time.

That's a fun car to drive. Tried it on the Nord Tourist layout and it posted a 5:11 with a lot left!

I'm top 15 on RSR with that time.
It's going to be tough for me to get any better.
That's a pretty quick time! With practise I'm sure I could knock half a second or so off my time, which was an early effort admittedly, but I doubt I'd get down to your time. The one thing that was losing me a lot of time was 1st gear - I found it very hard to judge how much throttle to use and if I gave it too much it just speared off the track. It's going to be tough for me to get any better.

Did you have that issue in 1st gear? I wonder if it's a stage 1 thing. I've not found it in any other cars, real or sim based.

I'll have a bash tonight and see if I can do a competitive time again and record it with ShadowPlay.
I'll also post my set up.

First impressions; easy to get into and a big step up in graphics quality and driving feel from rFactor. G25 presets work ok, switched the driving aids off, Elise is a doddle to drive and Lotus 49 is a blast around the ring. Had a quick go in the Yellow Bird and thought crikey, leave that 'till later.
Haven't found the car setup screen yet...?
The 49's my favourite car The setup screen is reached with one of the red squares on the left hand side after you've loaded the car and track - instead of clicking the steering wheel to drive, I think it's a spanner you click on instead - you then get tabs for each setup grouping.Haven't found the car setup screen yet...?

Where is the car listed? I can't see it listed on the website.http://www.radiators-champ.com/RSRLiveTiming/index...
I've just had a go with the standard car and got my time down a bit. If you look at the torque and power info it basically has less torque low down, which makes it much easier to drive, so although it is slower, eventually I got a quicker time purely because I didn't have that issue in 1st gear that I had been having:
PH Name | RSR Name | Car | Time | Sector 1 | Sector 2 | Sector 3 |

Asterix | Asterix | Williams FW31 Std | 1:46.598 | n/a | n/a | n/a |

I did set a 46.7 which AC allowed but RSR didn't.

As a side point, I've never really driven a modern F1 car on a sim before and I must say that I have absolutely no idea how F1 drivers go from Formula 3 straight to F1, as many do; this F1 car is just so ridiculously fast. Kimi Raikonnen actually went straight from Formula Renault (very similar to the Formula Abarth on Asseto Corsa - a Tatuus chassis with a 200bhp engine) to Formula One - how on earth did he manage that? He scored 9 points in his first F1 season and came 10th in the championship and by his second season was driving for McLaren and getting podiums. Bonkers! And that's with a ban on testing... I'm talking not only in terms of driving skill and adapting to the car, but physically; extrapolating up from experience I don't think I could physically handle one lap at Spa in that F1 car.
