Ah I see you've all been testing the C9 already; I was driving at the ring it's a handful in the slow corners that's for sure, great fun biggrin
The number keys change the boost level, press '0' for 100%, it's a good way to practice throttle control! smile

No.12 on RSR - and there is still more to come. I completely wimped out on the last few corners because I didn't want to ruin the lap.

Replay rendering now - will upload later.

Ferrari 312T is like a limpet; very flattering.
Isn't it lovely though? And a proper gearbox too cloud9 That, the Lotus 49 and the McLaren F1 are my firm favourites. I really wish they'd produce more racing cars for AC; my favourite car in AC's predecessor, NetKar, was actually the FF1600 - so much fun, especially in the rain, which is another thing sorely missing from AC.

I'm going to download the Suzuka mod.

If I come out on top with this, and the track is good, this is where we're going next.

I've just finished work and shaved another couple of tenths off. My best combined is in the 46s, I just need to string it together, so hopefully I'll re-visit after work tomorrow! smile

Yes and no.

Trust me I'm working hard to stay just the right side of lots of slippage!

A good example is at 1:07 - I realise that I haven't quite turned in enough so I'm a little more brutal with the throttle to get the back to move and to turn faster. There's plenty of play in this car and it's still very easy to get caught out when 'on it'.

The Lotus 2-11 GT4 was a shocker, first time I've had to delve into the toolbox, but after a few tweaks to the front end it was fine. Good to see the setup is quite sensitive.
I must admit that I've not tried the 2-Eleven GT4. However, I do own a standard 2-Eleven so have compared that real life car with the Assetto Corsa version on many occasions and even on the same tracks. Performance wise, it's very close, the only difference being the aerodynamics - in real life the fact that it's an open car means it runs into an aerodynamic brick wall at speed, so you rocket up to about 125-130mph, but then struggle thereafter, like a Caterham, but AC doesn't account for this and you just continue accelerating as you would in an Exige or similar. The other thing is that the tyre model in AC doesn't model overheating tyres quite like real life - in the real car, even with very gentle driving (and I've been told I'm easy on tyres!), on a summer's day you've got about 15 minutes on track before the rear tyres start to squirm around. Plus of course, as with all cars in AC, you don't get fuel starvation at low fuel loads. I also have an inkling the way that Kunos measure the height of the CofG and the way it acts on the suspension is slightly off; with all modern Lotuses you get a building rear mass sensation when they're sliding which is very close in AC, but not quite there - the real cars are more sudden in starting to slide and harder to catch. Other than those two things though, the actual handling and performance is very similar indeed, although for the 2-Eleven I think Kunos have modelled the track only version for AC, whereas in the UK you could buy an SVA road version, which is what I've got, which has a smaller front splitter and a fixed rear wing (so I drop the rear wing in AC to mimick my road going version).

Wicked car to own! Lotus 98T is my new favourite, nice and tricky with the turbo boost coming out of slow corners and a hoot to drive. Some fab cars in AC and it's very accessible.

What timing app are you guys using?
Thanks.

Timing app is here, along with the league tables generated from it: http://www.radiators-champ.com/RSRLiveTiming/

Seems this one has gone to Ash! Congrats mate - I didn't have time over the weekend to try and improve which was a bugger as I really wanted to break the 45 second barrier.

Your choice - car & track combo for this week.

I've been racing Mount Panorama emulating the old Bathurst 1000 race from the 1990s.

Ok this week's challenge:

After hearing about some stunning lap times set in the projectile, the Aussie's have challenged us to provide some hot laps at Mount Panorama in a classy British racer, the Lotus 49, as a support feature for their V8 supercars.

Bathurst track download link:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/2dhb6bowrsmuen4/...

Extract with RARZilla freeware (or similar) and put the track folder in:
Steam\SteamApps\common\assettocorsa\content\tracks

I've done a quick sighting lap and the world record is ours for the taking. Gentlemen, start your engines! cool
Should be rather interesting!

I will be crap at this hehe

Just had a quick go - 14 seconds off but not bad on a track I've never driven on before! Didn't hit a single apex hehe

Great fun - love the noise too!

Just had a quick go. Time to come I was 1.6s up on my last lap but over-cooked it at the tight left onto conrod straight and clattered the wall.

My favourite car! I've got a super busy week though sadly of things to do before my holiday so probably won't find time to join in. A hint though: there's a lot of time to be gained by lowering and stiffening it - the default setup was for 1960s tracks and somewhere like Bathurst is very different.
