So... you know the turny bit, you can't get that 'a little bit' wrong can you...

Also, really increased the speed of the steering - now I can hits apexes much better and catch the slides. Completely different now.

Just got to get through the turny bit - I think I'm trying too hard.

Had another quick go, scrappy laps liked going sideways more than forwards so more to come when I started to control it a bit.

Video of the lap if anyone is interested, you'll see where I'm still losing time, the last corner needs to be much better.

I'm in (if I may), but I'm rather crap. Loafing around the 2:20 mark...

Love this challenge!

Is that with throttle blip and auto clutch?

I need to chase you down smile

Crazy car.

I can't express how much respect I have for the guy that drove these back in the late 60's.

No seatbetls and pretty much no crash protection! Not only that, but no gravel traps, no tyre barriers and no fences, just trees and houses. Plus an easily ruptured fuel tank strapped to your arse! I've often wondered if I'd have raced single seaters back then - it's a tough one, but probably not to be honest.

I don't use the clutch for shifts but come off the throttle on up-changes. No auto blip, I use the throttle under braking to balance the car (with a rear brake bias). My seat has a centre support so I switched the brake onto the left pedal, and use the middle pedal as a clutch for standing starts.
Same really - Lift on up-changes and rev-match on down changes.

What do you think about my racing view. It's my TrackIR setting without TrackIR. FOV & seating position to match the view if you were in the car.

I'm much lower in the car - closer to ash's position.

I've also turned off TrackIR - I far more accurate with it off.

Might be the pitch down setting I'm using that makes it seem higher, but it's the same perspective as this.

Not all racing drivers are shortarses biggrin

To be fair, that's a good point.

They sat much higher back then.

I like that, except you can't see the mirrors. How do you change it? I couldn't see where I was going in the projectile.
When racing I'd have TrackIR on so I just move my head left or right. I'd probably try and fix it (you can fix the movement limits) so that it's not very sensitive and it moves only enough to see the mirrors as TrackIR can give you a full 180 left and right if you go too far.

Or get a few more screens.

This guy has 3 65" curved 4k monitors powered by 3 Titan X GFX cards.

I'm running 3 24" widescreens and I'd highly recommend it for Assetto Corsa. They're the cheapest thin bezel ones you can get (~£120 each IIRC), so it wasn't a huge investment, but it's massively improved gaming and made my work a huge amount easier too.

Don't know if you have seen these but I am also running a natural graphics mod, adds some SweetFX and some extra post processing filters.

Ooo, probably a few days before the full release of Occolus Rift comes out and they realise they've wasted their money biggrin

So.... 2:13.264

Slowly getting better, but nothing that warrants putting myself on the leaderboard.

2 quick questions, if I may - Are you guys keeping the ABS turned off, because that makes a big difference to corner entry (clearly)? Secondly, anyone care to share any set-up tips on the Lotus? I have raised the front pressures by 3, the rears by one and extended the final drive by one click. These seemed to help, but I'm curious about what others are doing.

Thanks.

Pro, no help on.

My setup, be aware its actually one I made for Mugello and haven't done anything to it for Bathurst as I#ve only had time for 3 or 4 x6 lap runs. But it's a setup you can put the fuel in and drive consistent times each lap.

Setup here, unzip and put in Lotus 49/Bathurst folder - http://www.mediafire.com/download/kef56358ol5j8yj/...

Ok the GPL Bathurst never used the Caltex Chase (fast right, slow left at the end of the back straight) biggrin
