We race with RACE SOFTS in the series I'm in already (In my RX7 with 582bhp)....no one complains that they are too grippy.

What's peoples thoughts on tyres? I had a little test with a Mclaren F1 647pp with RS tyres and it felt way too grippy, wouldn't break traction coming out of second gear corners so I'd imagine the lower PP cars will feel even worse. Thoughts?scratchchin
We are racing not drifting...for now tyre choice is down to each individual.
I've not seen much sideways action in any of the touring car/GT series races I've watched on TV.

btw Did you test in an online lobby with the correct wear settings?
Was in an online lobby, i know we are not drifting (personally I like race cars on sports tyres biggrin)

While there isn't much sideways action in real life racing, they do struggle to put the power down, they can't floor a 700+ bhp Mclaren out of a corner without lighting up the tyres.

I don't mind soft tyres, it just makes things that bit less realistic IMO
Have you Tried another car? I'm in the Team Oreca R8 race car tuned to 650PP right now and it's spinning up all over the place on RACE SOFT in 2nd and 3rd gear on corner exit!

You haven't left TC on have you? wink

Spent 2hrs today in my 650pp 790bhp corvette, it spins on corner exit in 2nd & 3rd with a little in 4th too on race soft.

Looks like your McLaren is a limpet :P
We are "sticking" with Race Soft for all PP bands.

Wow! In that case I must have got the set up on my F1 bang on hehe

Even though we are racing I'll still try to find some space for a little drift here and there

I'll see how tyre wear and fuel goes in a bit of testing tonight, I'll run whatever tyre lets me clean out a tank of fuel or finish the race if fuel is not an issue.

I was SOOOOOO tempted to build one.

I "MIGHT" turn tyre wear OFF just for 480PP so as to level the playing field for FWD.

I've tried. Doesn't go above the original PP with the engine modifications frown The Honda CRZ might work.

Shame! would have been nice to nick some points in a Prius. I'm going to do some testing before the race tonight. I might even use a different car for each race to spice things up a bit
