Did Mission 28 and 29 last night, plus a few side-ops.

[spoiler]Easier than I expected, those consecutive Skulls battles. The first instance against the snipers in 'Code Talker' was pretty straight forward as it was essentially the Quiet battle with few more foes, although this time I had the Brennan sniper which took them down in 2 hits. Managed to CQC one of them too as D-Dog distracted her approaching me.

Second encounter against the armoured ones in 'Metallic Archaea' was quite intimidating, but being a bit sneaky it was easily done. I sprinted round the warehouse next to the starting location, took a couple hits but managed to climb the ladder that the enemies can't climb. Then it was just a case of dodging the rocks popping out the floor as me and Quiet took shots at them.

Did the 'Eli's Challenge' Side-Op when I got back to MB - annoying little bugger. Petrol bombs developed now though biglaugh

[spoiler]Eli grows up to be an even more annoying bugger tongue out I tried fighting fire with fire against those sniper skulls by having Quiet as my buddy, but she was fking useless, do I just used D-Dog to sniff them out

Hi there,

I just picked this up and am amazed by it. It really is one of those "Honey! you've got to come see this!" However after escaping the hospital I'm totally lost in the 1st Afghan mission.

Er, What am I supposed to be doing? It's been a while since I played an MGS game (the one with Raiden on PS2?) feel a bit out of my depth!

Cheers for any tips!

If you're really struggling, check Youtube for a walkthrough.

But from what I remember from that mission: Head to the village location. Plant yourself across the hill / road from it, get on your goggles and mark as many guards as you can.

You can then track their movements, night time is usually easier for interceptions as there are less guards patrolling, and those that are usually huddle together more.

Head towards the right-hand side of the village area and keep the cliff to your right, crouch-walk and drop to the floor in the grass if you spot any guards.

Your approach should look like this:

I think you can see Miller's location on that picture (yellow marker), roughly. If you stick to the right, walk to the top of the village (where that little tree is at the middle-top) and the hut where he's kept is just on your left. Pick him up and retrace your steps to escape.

Right, I'll try that tonight,

I did the 1st taster village that had two guards? but wasn't sure what to do next as I just stunned one and darted the other, then put them in a room.

it did say something...

Cheers for any help!

welcome on board brother! I struggled with the first mission too.

use it to get to grips with the training you've learned on the platform I realised I'd missed "how to get information out of X" part - that is important on main missions as you can complete different elements but you need to interrogate first to find locations.

I'm on side of prisoner rescue 2, feck me its difficult.... I fultoned someone and they saw the balloon FFS!!!!! yup. got lynched.

one Q. when I go base on the idroid it keeps telling me I have 11 employees to develop but they don't seem to be "developing"?? does the little blinking dot next to each name signify a new recruit?

my deployments on MB don;t seem to be doing very much... hmmm

thanks in advance

For Fulton you need to be at least 50m from the closest enemy or you'll be rumbled.

When looking at all the staff click in the right thumb stick and then select all staff. That will assign them to the various platforms once you have constructed them.

hmm...that is annoying, could there have been an enemy you hadn't seen/marked closer?

Unlike the previous games, the enemies can see further than 2m in front of them hehe

If you're sure you want to read:

She will leave unless you look at this link http://www.accelerated-ideas.com/metalgearsolid5/h...

I didn't know about it so means I have lost her as a Buddy forever it seems.

You'll have to undo the changes to finish the game, but delay until you're ready.

Managed to hammer out 4-5 main missions over the weekend; up to 30/31 now.

God damn, those skulls after you rescue Code Talker. It took me 6-7 attempts in the end and I only managed it by calling in a vehicle drop and going all Rambo with my tank!

Found the infection outbreak on MB fairly straightforward and only lost about 15 guys. Most people seem to lose circa 50, even when they work out who is infected straight away. Manually putting 300 guys into quarantine was painful though; that took a good hour...

Can anyone give a summary on how to use support personnel? Apparently I can now take guy/s with me on a mission and customise them? I can't see the option in the menus and I'm not entirely sure what it actually lets me do. Can I have a little buddy that comes in with an LMG to help or is it just for deployment missions?

Just for deployment missions, or you can choose to play as a certain member of staff instead of the usual character you play.
