Yeah this is part of my complaint. It just seems a bit silly and unrealistic because its easily "replenished".
I did pull off a great mission last night, the one where you have to take out two tanks and a truck carrying a general. First time I didn't know where I was etc so went toe to toe and got killed almost instantly. Second time I thought about it a bit more and used the knowledge I've gained from reading Afghan based military books. The main aim, stop the lead tank and block the road for the rest, obviously I needed a pinch point.
I then took over an outpost, set three C4's right next to the concrete barrier and hid in the bunker nearby, tank drives over, I pull the trigger the tank goes up, a few shots from the RPG just to make sure, then hit the deck, call in an air strike on tank two before quickly firing the RPG at the truck a few times killing the general.
It was a classic ambush tactic that felt very, very good to pull off, from the time the first C4 went off to the time the General's truck was blown up was about 30 seconds, if that
I did that mission again last night in 'Subsistence' mode, and S-ranked it. I did pull off a great mission last night, the one where you have to take out two tanks and a truck carrying a general. From the starting position (the western landing zone) sprint up the road to the guard post, dropping prone and sneaking past them (keeping the cliff to your left). Once past them, turn left on the main road and sprint down.
You'll get a radio message about not going the right way or something, but as you run down it triggers the convoy movement. Hide in some grass or behind a rock, then pop out in front of the first tank, halting the convoy. Very quickly fulton the first tank, then the truck, then the second tank, then call in the helicopter to the landing zone just to your right.

as an aside on the MP I bought the nifty helmet for 3000 GMP and its has made no difference at all - am I missing something????
the one that makes you look like an alien hosebeast....
As a PC player I'm a bit bored now to be honest. I've finished the game and find myself not really having the motivation to go back and do the Extreme/Stealth/etc. missions. Sucks that MGO is delayed until next year, but after playing MGO on the PS3 and remembering how quickly that went downhill, I'm inclined to stay away from it.
I think I played too much too soon, but then I don't remember feeling this way after MGS4 after beating that I immediately wanted to do it again....

I've less motivation to complete the replay missions now that I've finished the main story to be fair.
I have about 2.5 weeks until Need For Speed and Fallout 4 though which should give me time to wrap up on this.
I've been satisfied with the play time though, happy to wind down on what's been a superb game

Just to check, you guys saying about finishing the story and replay missions, you don't mean the ones around episode 30ish? As there's story stuff a lot beyond that.
Sorry, I'm trying to be deliberately vague so as not to spoil anything
I've finished the 'whole' story Sorry, I'm trying to be deliberately vague so as not to spoil anything
All that's left is the Subsistance, Total Stealth and Extreme ones, and a few Side-Ops.

Can you replay all of the missions, once you get to the end of the story?
You can replay any of them as many times as you like, to complete missed objectives etc.But MGS have included their own specific replays of missions that have special rules to make them extra challenging too.

Too right.
Actually I need to finished the Wandering Mother Base Soldier ones so I can finish the Paz arc, when I can be bothered.
Doesn't her voice just make you want to rocket punch her in the abdomen?Actually I need to finished the Wandering Mother Base Soldier ones so I can finish the Paz arc, when I can be bothered.
Also, wandering soldier tip, don't tranq them so they fall face down in water, then take your time getting over there... The fools will only go and bloody drown

Feel exactly the same. Really happy that I bought this game and found it an awesome experience but I'm just mucking about with it now and counting down the days until NFS is released.I have about 2.5 weeks until Need For Speed and Fallout 4 though which should give me time to wrap up on this.

I've only just figured out that I can have Pequod arrive and depart to a song from the cassette player. Started with Ride of Valkyries, now it's Take on Me
how do you do that?Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
