Thinking about it, I did have the original Metal Gear Solid too.

Ok, well I'm glad I can play the game without having to worry too much about skipping MSG4. The main reason behind missing MSG4 is because I had a PS2 and then went over to Xbox 360 and then onto the Xbox One and I couldn't really justify a console for one game.

I may well pick up a copy for old times sake.

I really enjoyed playing this (in a shop in Portugal) just deciding if I get it for the PS3 or finally upgrade to a PS4.

So, apparently, those who buy the hard copy of the PC version just get a steam file on their disc laugh

Looking good, though.Hoping it runs ok at 4k because looking at the screen shots, it looks a lot nicer than the console versions.

Not played MGS since number 2 on PS2, from what I've seen this all looks a bit overwhelming.

I've enjoyed them all but this one is a very different game, very good but taking its sweet time to get going. The first handful of missions baring the odd bit of MGS weirdness just feels like you're playing medal or honour or something. It takes a while to set the scene but have faith it's gonna be good.

Hmmm I imagine a lot of retailers are doing the usual trick of advertising stock they haven't got...

I'm also lazy AND impatient.

Slow to get going you say, How many hrs so far then Ryan?
I'm holding off until "zomg new game is amazing" period passes I think.

Got Gears of War ultimate edition, Forza 6 Demo, Project Cars 3.0 and Ride 2.0 to keep me entertained for now

Your nearest big supermarket should have it for less than £50

Verdict so far:

Epilogue made some uncomfortable viewing, and the violence has certainly escalated. In MGS games up to 4, the violence was almost cartoon, but in 5, they've really taken it up a notch, it's pretty brutal!
