I'm yet to sit down and have a proper game. A couple of mates are seriously racking up the hours. I had a very quick game then received a CoD invite from someone I hadn't 'seen' for ages and Ghosts seemed very dated already!

Starting a 9-5 next week, so hopefully some sensible gaming time.

I'm at level 46 now and quite surprised at how good the smart pistol and the arc cannon are. Two weapons which I initially thought were useless!

Hoping the snag the last few levels tomorrow and get the 'Early Adopter' achievement.

I hate online FPS games. They're irritating because I'm so bloody awful and everyone else is so good, and I never feel like I'm getting anywhere. Horrible, repugnant games open to the elitist few who are a) under 14 and b) can spend all night, every night playing them.

So why on earth am I enjoying Titanfall so much?!

It's utterly, utterly superb. Fast but not manic, I'm still crap but at least I don't feel like I'm crap, and there's a ton of variety in it too. I don't care a jot that it's not 1080p, not when it's this much FUN. I don't think I've played a game that was this much fun for years. Atlas with a chaingun and the nuke ability is my Titan of choice, and pilot with the SMG and show enemies through walls for running like a madman. And dying a lot paperbag

I can only imagine how awesome the sequel will be.

Level 48 Gen 2, I generally have a couple of hours after work as the missus is on lates. Still really enjoying it, it's starting to mature a bit and there is more teamplay emerging than the hectic firestorm it was in the first couple of weeks.

Agree with Ekona on dying a lot - playing mostly capture the flag or hardpoint, my K/D ratio is proper dire but my win ratio is over 80%, being a flag runner always get you mullered but you win games!

Generally play as fast pilot classes with rifle or SMG and stim, and in contrast a heavy titan with 40mm cannon and power punch.

I do love the game - but my reactions and quick aim are pretty bad so although the movement is fun, it makes the game much harder for me.

I initially disliked LTS as I died a lot - but I've come to think of it more like 2.5D chess (as they can't jump).

You have to try and move your titans around to flank theirs, whilst making sure each of your titans is covered by another titan.

Played a team of Gen 5's and they hammered us - they were working in pairs, one with the arc gun to strip shields and one with the rapid fire cannon thing to drain health. They were dooming us in less than 1-2 seconds.

Right,

well as expected I have a contract drought after today

So in all likelihood will be about during the day next week (at the very least!) if anyone is likely to be around?

Yep,

that pretty much sums up how I feel, right down to the Pilot + Titan loadouts being the same!

cool

Anyone tried the new matchmaker beta (under classic and attrition). Only had three games but they seemed more evenly matched to me.

I've had a good few games today. I got the achievement for winning all of the campaign missions as a Militia pilot, so it was time to start on classic mode.

What strikes me is that some amazing maps, some of the best maps, aren't in the campaign! But hye ho, they are fantastic in classic mode. I've been sneaking in a few 40mm cannon kills as part of the second level Regeneration requirements. That is getting patched and nerfed to a 16 round magazine rather than 25 round magazine with the extended magazine attachment.

Found a sneaky way to complete the regen to level 4 challenge re Satchel Charge kills (probably obvious to everyone but me):

Hardpoint matches, get camped in by a hardpoint and place satchel charges near you where the enemy are likely to shoot from whilst using 'Dead mans switch' option on pilot loadout

Enemy comes in, shoots you - kaboom!

Serious love hate relationship with this game. Hasn't stopped serious hours I've played. Gen 8 level 35 paperbag

Although I have done it in quite a fast time. 400 games played, 2.0 k/d vs pilots and 80% match wins.

I'm bloody terrible at it, but I enjoy stomping around in 5 tons of nuclear powered armoured battle suit.

Erm, play as part of a team. Hate this game on my own, love it with mates.

Use silencers on rifles. Hip fire with smgs and shotgun. Never stay in the same place for more than a couple of kills.

Attrition tip... Arc Cannon + minion detector = win. When the regen requirement was to do with arc cannons, I was getting 100+ attrition points per game with usually 60+ minion kills.

You could just use the trigger to blow them before the enemy shoots you!? :-)

Your way seems particularly masochistic :-)

I agree, but my way is the lazy approach - also often get multiple pilot kills from this
