Hi all, finally got round to coming up what I hope will be an enjoyable series for racers of all levels.

Set below are my proposals for the championship but I'm open to making minor changes. For those of you who don't know me i ran regular race nights and several full damage drag tyre races in FM4 with great success.

The series will run over 6 nights during which there will be a two week break due to my shift pattern.

Each race night will comprise of a 3 lap qualifying session, a 35-40min race with pitstops then a reverse grid 20min sprint race on a smaller layout of the same track (where possible). Points will be awarded for both races.

Regulations- these follow BTCC NGTC rules where possible.

Front wheel drive
Tuned to a maximum of B600- minimum weight 2600lbs
Engine must be 2.0litre turbo-maximum power 350bhp
Race Tyres maximum width 245
Race brakes
Race cage
Forza aero front and rear
Race transmission-gears set for 160mph MAX
Cars must be painted with a BTCC style paint

The cars-not all the cars listed below have featured in the BTCC but to prevent it from becoming practically a one-make series I've included a couple cars that fit within the spirit of the championship and rules.

Acura RSX
Ford Focus ST 2013
Honda Civic Type R 2007
Honda Civic Type R 2004
Kie Cee'd-with 2.0VVTi engine swap
Renault Megane RS250
Vauxhall Astra VXR
Not a huge list but enough to run a series with.

If you're interested please post your name and GT below along with when you're available!

Cheers
Homer

I'll go in for this, you've got to have somebody at the back hehe

I built some cars yesterday, this might be just me being useless, but a Kia Ceed can't be B600 within the rules, mine is 350bhp and as near as I can get it to 2600lb, with upgraded everything, and its B580 and a bit. Also, is that a final list of cars or can we try others, the free DLC Civic Si and the Alfa Giuiletta seem to fit the rules.

Well spotted! I've amended the rules to allow UP TO B600 from now instead. I managed to get mine to B594 within the regs and tbh its as competitive as the rest without that 6 PI. If you want the build I'll post it.

I don't have the DLC for the Alfa but as long as the engine is turbo 2.0 after tuning I think its worthy of inclusion as its 4 door and the sort of car you'd expect to see in the BTCC.

I'm not gonna allow the Honda Civic Is as there are enough Honda based cars in the list already!

Forgot it was paid DLC, I don't have it either hehe

Edit: Also, the not DLC Integra is a 1.8, the displacement increase mod is 1.9 or 2.1 litre. So I take it the 1.9 upgrade is ok but not the 2.1?

DAMN! I got confused with the Integra and RSX. The RSX is 2.0 but you're aabsolutely right about the Type R so I'll have to take it off the list frown

I'm in, can't do the table as I'm on my phone. GT is Mattyvole, available most nights after 7.

One question, do we have to use cars from that list? As I've got some ideas of my own.

After testing umpteen cars last night I'm convinced the regs will bring the cars quite close together so with that in mind I'm open to suggestions for other cars but stick to the front drive 2.0 formula please.

II'm disappointed that the golf is 4wd so maybe we could have the Scirocco R instead?

Ideas???

These are the FWD cars.
http://www.kudosprime.com/f5/carlist.php?drive=FWD

Mazdaspeed 3 is a 2.3, 2009 Focus is a 2.5, 308 GTi is a 1.6, Alfa Romeo Giulietta is a 1.75, Mini, DS3 and Fiats are a bit small. Looks like its just the Scirocco R that's an option. Are there any hatchbacks other than the Kia with the 2.0 engine conversion? Or does the Golf have a FWD conversion?

OK here is some feedback and bit of my opinion wink

The cars listed are all great with the exception of the Astra. It's a terrible car all round and drives bad, speed is bad and it just sucks no matter what you do with it.

Personally I would go for C class rather than B...its the new B class. You can still fit the cars in the regs and won;t allow some of the cars to just lump tons of power in. Most cars will do between 150 and 160mph (My team and I have tried almost all cars that you can get to C class).

Cars that shine out are the Kia C'eed, Acura RSX and the Civic 2007. If the Rocco is added that too can be a car to watch as it has a ton of torque and pretty fast out the box.

Another car that should be there is the BMW 1 series for those who fancy a little RWD action. The differece in drivetrains in FM5 is far closer than in past series and I feel both can race together.

Overall I would say bin the Astra and the 04 Civic (also a bad car), stick in the Rocco R and the BMW 1 series (Not 1M). Loose the requirement for the roll cage as the cars dont need it in C and adds too much weight.

If you are happy to then remove the race tyre requirement. FM5 uses tyre widths better than compounds and one car may work amazing on race tyres and suck on streets yet another (The rocco for example) just needs stock or street.

I've made up a Golf with 4wd and the Mercedes AMG A45 with 4WD and 355bhp instead of 350bhp. The Mercedes is heavy and weighs alot though and getting it to do 160mph max is tricky but possible. I also built a BMW 1 series but this seems too quick and is also a 3.0L N/A - no turbo though.

May I sugest that perhaps we include the 4wd vehicles like the Golf/A45 and see how you get on with them in testing. If needs be, you could then try the diff setting to 100% FWD, if you want them to be front wheel drive ?

BMW RWD cars is a good call, I couldn't get anything good from the Astra either hehe . It is 2.0 turbo, 355bhp standard, and its DLC, but could a RWD converted (if that's possible) Mercedes A45 squeak in?

I may end up buying this DLC, the list of cars I can't get to is getting a bit long now...

Bloody hell! I've opened up Pandora's boxhehe

Thanks for the input guys, particularly Dan cos that's a lot of ideas in one post smile

The C class idea was to be the next one and I was going to run that as an open series for ANY car in the style of Britcar ( I think that's what its called).

Honestly, I really don't know what to do now???

And yes, the Astra is a steaming pile of poo!
