I've seen a mention of this as a new game coming soon -

Maybe it'll be a DayZ contender if they manage to get the gameplay balance right.

SOE's Forgelight engine sounds ideal for this. It already makes Planetside 2 look great, can't imagine how much more they can do with the performance advantage of less population per-sq-km.
It's F2P too? As long as they keep P2W out of it (and the reddit threads suggest they are being open about the monetisation side of things) then I'm looking forward to this

This is pretty good.
Playing with a friend who has been playing the DayZ standalone quite tenaciously and he thinks that H1z1 is the better gameplay BUT DayZ currently has better graphics.
Liking the crafting and looking forward to when buildable camps/strongholds become available.
Also it's nice to see something get posted up on the forum then days later see a patch that fixes it. Benefits of large company backing from SOE though.

remember watching a few vids on youtube a while back about the crafting of huts etc

k! Run round a corner and theres a black figure on the horizon standing in the fog, 'has he seen me?' A wolf howls somewhere to the right, im going left, what was the rustle of leaves? Daytime, seems a little calmer, the zombies are different, make different noises, move at different speeds and some even seem tougher to kill than others. They can be distracted by scaring some wildlife.
and the graphics, very smooth, lovely effects, the UI is brilliant, crafting is unique and pretty well thought out.
I can see me putting some hours into this!

Survival is just that, build a base, get a food supply going (animal traps, crow crops) defned your base. get some wheels etc.
Survival can be PVE or PVP.
