Are the physics in GT6 more realistic than those in FM4? The braking seems to be the 'wrong' way around in GT6?
In FM4 you brake hard and late to apex most of the time to try to get rid of understeer. In Gran Turismo 6 it doesn't like late or hard braking and you need to be a lot slower on and off the brakes or I usually get understeer ON them and oversteer OFF them. Is this accurate? it feels weird even though it feels more responsive than Forza. Thanks.

Shouldn't be steering and braking at the same time no matter what game you are playing.

Brake to correct speed for the corner, off brakes, turn, power out.

Assuming you don't need to transfer any weight onto the front to counter the inherent understeer built into most road cars.... :-)

This is what I thought and initially I drove like Forza diving in hard on the brakes. Big mistake! Understeering cars like the Nissan Leaf (what a beast!) you seem to get more understeer due to too fast brake application and then get more oversteer releasing the brakes too fast. To me it feels more like a real car but it's harder and less fun than Forza.
The high power rear wheel drive cars are a right pain to drive as well with the non-linear throttle GT insists on using. Also the lift off oversteer on some cars like the '91 NSX I won is crazy because of the throttle. I swear I'm losing at least half a second a minute even in a Leaf because of it but I'm determined to get near the top! smile

Sounds like you are locking up in gt, it's very sensitive to braking too hard

FM ABS off, GT ABS on 1. Try that.

You're right I figured it out yesterday. I was getting understeer when still on the brakes then getting oversteer when I released the brakes making driving so much harder. I never turned ABS off in Forza it's the one driving aid I always left on. It's the brake application/release it affects the balance a LOT in GT. Forza is more forgiving of fast/excessive braking and accelerating compared to GT plus the steering is more assisted.

I'm in the 1:3.xxx bracket with that horribly slow Leaf on the GT academy challenge now but it took a couple of hours on and off to get that time bit sad I know. I still don't like the non-linear throttle but I'm finally enjoying it a bit. smile Steep learning curve.
