Indeed it does, I just really hope it's not arcady like the GT games. Could be a possible reason to buy a ps4 though...

I'm looking forward to this game along with Assetto Corsa it could help me put off buying a PS4/Xbox One.
From the videos I've seen it seems like they are getting it right and it will be a real competitor to Forza/GT.
My biggest worry? It's from the developers of the Shift series. I played the demo for Shift 1 and felt it was disappointing. The handling was un-realistic and un-natural feeling like Grid. There were other minor things as well but the sounds and graphics were pretty good.
I'm hoping they use a new physics engine to get handling that's a bit like Forza or a bit like GT but with a linear throttle response. GT drives me mad with it's non-linear throttle.
Fingers crossed. biggrin

Looks good, handling is very suspect. Feels a lot more arcadey than I was hoping for. It does indeed feel like a Shift game.

It's not "arcadey", nor does it feel like SHIFT as the tyre and FFB models are completely new.

Just my opinion. The builds seem to vary in quality quite a lot, hard to tell which direction its heading in. The last 6 months have felt a lot more like Shift to me.

They've spent the last year carefully making it worse and worse in terms of physics every week. Now it's just laughable arcade trash. Pretty, but a terrible 'simulator'.

Just in case people new to the game get the wrong idea - Project CARS is absolutely a simulation, up there with iRacing and Assetto Corsa in terms of realism. The most important simulation element, the tyre model, is actually better than the competition.

It's unfortunate that we suffer from "haters" who enjoy spreading vitriol and misinformation, but hopefully most people will give it a chance anyway. Anybody seriously into cars and racing games owes it to themselves to give it a try smile

It's not misinformation, it's the opinion of people who have been playing it for a while now.

Dead right, from what I have read and seen although Project cars is absolutely gorgeous it does not offer the same simulation feel as AC. I have not tried P Cars yet but would be tempted to pick it up even knowing this just for the way it looks.

Um, it's not "dead right"! How can you say that never having played it? Of course a minority will always dislike a game (sometimes for reasons other than the game itself), but it's a shame they feel the need to spread misinformation everywhere. It *is* misinformation, because pCARS is a simulation, there is no question about that.

Anyway I'm done here, nothing to be gained by debating with these people unfortunately.

(Platforms are PC, PS4, XB1, WiiU and SteamOS btw.)

Im not agreeing with the opinion of the game just that its not spreading mis-information. Blimey you're sensitive.

But I've played it. The only recent 'simulator' I haven't played a decent amount is rFactor2, so I couldn't judge that.

AC feels great, and is a step forward from LFS and netKar Pro. iRacing still feels horrible, and the tyre simulation is a bit of a joke. rFactor has always been awful, but rFactor 2 is apparently vastly better. And PCars has spent an inordinate amount of time on making the leaves on the track move nicely, but has a tyre model that would give most 90s games a run for their money. It's not good.

So if that makes me a "hater" then you must be a "fanboy", but I think there is lots of room in between those two forum extremes for other labels. I like sims. I don't like PCars, and I certainly don't consider it either fun or a simulator. Gran Turiso isn't a simulator either, but at least it's fun.

It really isn't though.

When I can drive around, with AI, and not find them on their roof because the car has flipped over after a fast, tight corner then it becomes a game. BTW the AI haven't flipped due to hitting a kerb but because they had so much grip when turning the car just flipped over.

Of course the game is still WIP (or at least I hope it is) and hopefully will get better before final release.

I've backed the game since the beginning (early 2012?) so have seen it progress. Like mentioned above it was going in the right direction but since they've decided that they are going to hit every platform it has gone downhill.

It'll still be a good game with its variety of cars and tracks but in terms of physics it doesn't get close to Assetto Corsa.

Pretty is one thing...the actual driving is what will make it or break it. Grand Prix Legends looks very dated now but still drives brilliantly.

Shift 2 still holds my record for quickest returned game - Shop-home-shop = 35 minutes.

Looks pretty, not driven it yet, but in terms of believing people who have played it VS one of the developers, try not to argue against peoples opinion too hard Andy!

Who has helped you with the tyre model?
