Yes.
Don't worry, after you've been ravaged by a pack of wolves, violated by a honey badger, mauled by leopards and tigers and charged by rhinos you soon get over it.

I already have. I kill the ones who attack me (well, for dogs/wolves I throw a Molotov in front of them and most of them seem to run off), especially the Rhino because they just don't stop!!

But just generally wandering around killing snow leopards and whatnot, doesn't feel nice....

Started using the crossbow, it is quite fun, but doesn't seem to have the fire arrows (bolts) nor explosive, which is a shame.

Don't like these drugged tasks though...

It does have fire & explosive arrows! You need to unlock them. They unlock a few missions in. Can't remember which though!

I absolutely hate the drugged tasks. It almost ruined FC3 for me, and I was praying they didn't include them in this one. I am avoiding them as long as I can really.

I really didn't look forward to the drugged bits on my second FC3 run-through, but at least then you know the way to get through quickly.

I also don't like the fail if spotted missions, like the first hostage rescue.

Well, I spent about 20 attempts on one mission before I worked out what to do (attacking the Fort)...

Once people are past that, I'll explain why I was a muppet.

I think we had this conversation on the Far Cry 3 thread and concluded that it was totally fine to kill human beings but harming the ickle wickle poor animals made you a howwid person. wink

Does anyone have any recommendations for best place to buy the PC version?

Currently Amazon have it for £38 for the Limited Edition (physical DVD) which, with Prime delivery, could be with me on Friday just in time for a weekend of play. I'd rather pay more like £30 though.

I'd be ok with a digital download, but it would have to be less than Amazon's price though as otherwise there is no point - I don't need it before the weekend so am not willing to pay a premium to have it now.

Done a few little missions last night that seemed to open up the game a lot for me, basically the weapons I wanted unlocked bounce

Now running around with a silenced sniper rifle, silenced pistol, Shot Gun & Assault Rifle with night sight. The Royal Army pulled up right by me in a pick up, one shot of the shotgun and the guy in the back falls out all holey, doors then open and the two others fall out equally as holey, think I only put two shots into it hehe

I am now trying to decide my perfect arsenal:
  • Shotgun - Hunting/Defending against animal attacks and close quarter stuff
  • Silenced Pistol - Stealthy attacks from short/medium distance
  • Silenced Sniper Rifle - Long Range targets plus neutralising enemy snipers
  • Assault Rifle - All rounder and most used gun
I feel that I also need an RPG Launcher though, I remember them being devastating against enemies in vehicles on FC3, whats your ideal arsenal?

In FC3 I found that the grenade launcher was far more effective and versatile than the RPG. Otherwise, I think my loadout would be the same as yours.

Grenade launcher is a very useful all rounder for vehicles and groups. Better than the RPG, other than when helicopters are involved.

Also, I have to have a bow.

EDIT: I took down a Rhino with a bow & arrow last night. It took a very long time smile

This is my first Far Cry game and have to say I'm really enjoying it so far, so much that I just seem to spend much of my time just wandering around and finding posters, loot chests and hunting animals to upgrade the storage capabilities rather than actually doing any of the missions smile

Just encountered the hunters though on a mission and whilst a bit annoying, they aren't too bad. I've yet to do the "drugged" missions that people are talking about, are they really that bad?

I'm maxed out on money now though (1 million) so having to track down some rhinos to get me up to 2 mill - money is plentiful and as others have said there isn't really much to spend it on - I think I'll just blow it on the weapons even though I know they unlock as you play.

I've got the SVD (?) sniper rifle now though but I think that's bugged in some cases - I unloaded 5 shots into some blokes head and nothing happened, yet a couple of bursts with the AK47 and he went down, weird. Likewise, a shot to some animals head and nothing, it just ran off

There's a minor bug in the PS4 version in that if you turn off the touchpad and then quit, when you start the game again the touchpad is active even though the settings say that it isn't

Quick question though - there are some propaganda posters that are out of reach i.e. half way up a wall or something - how do you take those down? You can't jump and grab them and shooting them does nothing. There is one for instance on one of the first radio towers you liberate and I've tried everything I can think of. Being a bit OCD about stuff like this, I like to take stuff down when I find it and not being able to do so is frustrating tongue out

Good game though if you like the free roam type of stuff and a welcome change to the boredom that Destiny has become

Yes, very true. Not having an RPG when attacked by a helicopter is a bit of a bummer. But, as you say, apart from that the grenade launcher is far better.

I think I have the same problem on the XBONE, probably the same tower. Couldn't work it out - maybe landing a buzzer on the roof and using that to stand on ?

The SVD sniper rifle is pretty inaccurate, I'm cracking on trying to get the M700 which is much better.

I'm currently using an STG-90 as my main weapon, SVD sniper, recurve Bow and a flare gun hehe

Yep, that's the tower I was on about! Don't have any fire arrows at the moment and had completely forgotten about Molotovs, doh! I'll give that a try, cheers.

How on gods name can you get into one of the castles/forts. I've tried on my own to get into the fort where you can walk up the side of a hill and get in.

tried about 6 times last night. using guns for hire to get them noticed. I've used fire arrows for the heavily armed guards. tried to sneak around. kill without being seen and it's not easy.

I managed to kill everyone, only to have a chopper try and kill me. I took that down but as soon as I did another turned up and killed me

Any idea or should this be done later in the story? I've only got to Yogi and the other guy second trippy mission. Sorry trying my best not to include any spoilers.
