I don't know how your approaching the outposts but I found a silenced sniper rifle from a distance is certainly the best approach for staying undetected. If they are stood together try and split them up by chucking a rock or bait near them so their buddy's don't see when they hit the deck!
If your noticed using a sniper, run away from the area, preferably to the opposite side of the camp and go again Tuvra said:

Yes, you get the map when you press M.
Thanks Zod. I don't see the map, when i press M. Instead i have a blank screen, where i guess that map should be(although the tabs are visible).
So i can still select the different options on that screen, such as change weapons etc.
Is there a fix for this?
Does anyone know if this is a video setting error?
Currently i'm running the game with everything either as Ultra or On.
Thanks
Easiest way to liberate outposts undetected is to fly really high near to them in the Gyrocopter and then use a grenade launcher to eliminate all the guards. Works 95% on the time and I even used this tactic on a Fortress to kill all but 4 guards before landing and finishing them off all sneeky beaky like.

I might give that a try actually, sounds fun. The sniper rifle I have doesn't seem too accurate or powerful so unless you get lucky with a headshot (difficult when some are armoured), they tend to react and leg it after you and I get spotted more often than not (or attacked by some random blummin' animal which gives my position away too)I only need one more undetected to unlock the skill and then I'll go in all guns blazin' as normal

Is there a new game plus option in this game? Once I've finished it (a long way off yet) I'd like to go down the other path in the story to see how it changes things. I think it's good enough to warrant playing twice, though I wouldn't want to 100% it more than once.
I think there are 3 endings.I've never played Far Cry before, had no clue what it was all about, bought the game because I saw a post in a HK forum saying FC4 have NPC shouting Cantonese swear words, which is highly amusing for me
However, I HATE scary games, I hated them on the first playstation with resident evil and I hate them even more now with better GFX and sounds.
Those Shangri-la missions really does my head in, and the mission where you have to escape the prison with that fking alien st made me st my pants X 1000 times, I bought this game because I thought it was a open world do whatever you want like GTA type game, I did not expect these jumpy space shifting weird sound making fking aliens to come after me...
I am a really REALLY st FPS shooter person, I can't aim for st, and when I am spooked...well...forget about aiming...I wouldn't know where to run let alone aim and shoot with a fking bow...
But apart from that, I like the game, but I'll the a miss to those shangri-la mission...I can't do it

Hmm, I've been playing the missions with Amita's objectives, and I'd like to play through again with Sabal's objectives.I had my first experience of hallucinogenics last night
during the brick factory raid[/img], my god what a sequence. Probably one of the most memorable sequences I've ever seen in a game.

Can you get them in 4?

Stuck on the mission of sneaking into Paul's compound without getting caught, everything I do ends in alarms. Annoying.
SPOILER...Go left. Then go up onto the rooftops. Don't fall though or you get spotted.
Use the bow/crossbow and throwing knives for silent kills. Also make sure you nail the guards in the watchtowers. I use the "See the enemy" syringe a lot..
