I'm enjoying it a lot having picked it up last week.
It's funny how sometimes, graphically, it's not all that, and others it's beautiful. I guess it's the difference between textures and landscape. It's ridiculous how much fun it is, and how fast it goes through time. I played for 6 hours and thought I'd been on a couple, at most.
I'm about 15% in, but I'm just about to go and do all the radio towers. Love the karma missions despite them being very similar, but finding the masks can be a chore.
One thing I hate, and always have, is the single thumb stick control for vehicles. Drives me nuts after spending so many hours on GTA which has it done masterfully when it comes to combining shooting and driving.
Nearly crapped myself when I first discovered devil fish by means of getting my arm nibbled.
Anywhooo, it's ace. Between this, CODAW and GTAV I'm set for a winters worth of gaming I reckon. Looking forward to trying the multiplayer, didn't bother on previous farcry releases.

Go to the settings menu and change driving controls to classic, at least you can then use the triggers to accelerate / brake (on Xbox one at least.)Much easier on quad bikes

You can change it in the settings, It really annoyed me as well as I found turning and keeping the throttle on difficult ETA PS4 here and throttle/brake is also R2/L2.

I'm not sure you can just go and do all of the radio towers if you haven't unlocked the Northern part of the map as I got a warning about entering hostile space or something when I tried to fly over there in the chopper - I didn't proceed as I didn't fancy being blasted out of the sky. I've done the 10 or so that are accessible to you in the South / Mid region thoughFinding masks - You can either a) listen out for the chanting noise that gets louder the nearer you are to the mask or b) equip your binoculars and they highlight the location of the mask as a dotted line box
The latter is less effective for those that are in the water, but just put a waypoint on it via the map and it'll guide you pretty much straight to it in my experience

I bought this over GTA and DAI and really pleased I did. Love Far Cry and this doesn't disappoint.
I do miss the tropical locations of 3 though and dare I say even 2. AI is rock hard as always and it's a real challenge. Savouring every step.
I miss the baddies talking in Afrikaans (FC2), mainly because I could understand the profanity. I do miss the tropical locations of 3 though and dare I say even 2. AI is rock hard as always and it's a real challenge. Savouring every step.
I thought that the mountain aspect would get in the way of a good game, but the climbing & flying functionality have ensured that this has not been an issue.

Maybe he's in for the surprise of discovering that the map is large than initially thought ? IIRC in FC2, having spent a lot of time in the game it was a surprise to me when the map opened up.can anyone please tell me where to find the hovercraft in south kyrat? i stumbled across it when running away from an angry elephant and its easily the best vehicle in the game. drive by shooting with an escape across water is extremely satisfying.
also many of you mention a crossbow, where do i get this as i am the king of stealth having taken all bases so far undetected.
just done the first drugged mission at the gale homestead. really hope there's not too many of these as it was a st mission and i really really hated these type of missions in FC3.

I had the same problem - The icon on the map seems to be in the wrong place.

I think it's part of the story-line.
It is as I've just unlocked it - keep playing the campaign missions and it becomes availableThere are a few hovercrafts around, but I can't remember exactly although there might be one in the lake to the east of the De Pleur (?) fortress. Might sound daft but remember to put it on the ground before getting out and don't do what I did and get out in the middle of a lake 'cos hovercrafts don't float

Where did you get the Z93 sniper from? I've also read it's the best sniper in the game but it's not available to buy and isn't a signature weapon either as far as I can tell
Is it in Northern Kyrat perhaps? I've not got that far yet but I'm showing 50%+ done (and 24hrs in )
I think you have to pick it up. Watch out for snipers using red laser sights! Is it in Northern Kyrat perhaps? I've not got that far yet but I'm showing 50%+ done (and 24hrs in )
I picked it up quite early so you can definitely find them in the south.
