I think you have to pick it up. Watch out for snipers using red laser sights!

I picked it up quite early so you can definitely find them in the south.
Hmm, OK thanks - I just took out a sniper dude on the first fortress who was using a laser sight and that was an SVD sniper rifle (not a good gun), but I guess I'll keep looking!

I decided to play around with a Z93 and accidentally managed an achievement last night - 2 yaks dropped with one shot.

Unfortunately I managed to do the same to a hostage and guard a little later in the session - bad karma.

I've got a Z93 with extended sight, It's mega!
I came across a Golden Path member with one yesterday. I was tempted to off him and take it, but decided to wait around in case an animal killed him. No such luck.

You get a z93 early on when you do the airstrip mission with Willis.

I got it through a completely accidental proxy kill. Was mucking about in the forest when a wolf downed a reindeer, and because nobody messes with my friend Rudolf (also because I was next) I very swiftly avenged his death. It was a bit odd, but quite the event.

In other news, I met a croc today. Fcensoredk me. Water is now by far my least favourite place in the entire game.

Crocs aren't that bad...it's the fking honey badgers that pisses me right off.

I'm really REALLY bad at aiming with these FPS games, I can't even hit a bloody Rhino with the Elephant Gun at close range let alone shoot a jumpy badger...mad

Run, turn, Molotov as they charge at you - this is for any animal to me - packs of wolves, dholes etc also works well on.

This is the reason I always carry a shotgun (more power the better - range/accuracy doesn't matter). If your out of cartridges, throw a Molotov as suggested.

Because the shotgun disperses its load over a larger area, you don't have to be as accurate as you do with a rifle, I don't even use L2, I shoot off the hip. The "big" shotgun will take down bears, tigers, packs of wolves, badgers etc no problem. Also great for taking down guards at close range, even the Heavies if you have a full magazine and don't run out of cartridges halfway through your attack!

Not sure that the main story line is that good/engaging.

The eagles are really starting to pee me off.Normally when I hear one above I just sprint off and they don't seem to attack but last night every five freakin minutes they were on my case, even got attacked on the outside of a tower whilst climbing up,never had that before.mad

If they are circling, watch them, then when they dive, if you time it right you can blade them before they even touch you, one clean strike with the knife and they're dead. I can't be doing stuff when there are eagles in the area, the game is tense enough as it is without them tts

I find some areas are hot beds for certain animals, I was on one part of the map and must have killed 20+ wolves in the space of 5 minutes. When I went in the nearby camp, I got on the mortar and could see more packs appearing all around. Very odd.

I don't mind any other animals(the dogs are a tad annoying)but I just can't see what the damn birds are supposed to bring to the game.

I've finally opened up the north of the map and for the first time last night I found myself getting a bit bored of the game.I think I need to get on with the story instead of concentrating on collecting everything as it's getting a bit repetitive.Having said that I still managed to sit up till 2am,i now feel crap.

What annoys me most are them two dug taking hippies? I'm sorry, but if that was real life and I was that much of a bad ass, I would have put a bullet between the pair of their eyes straight after they drugged me the very first time (considering what followed) banghead

They are almost as annoying and unbelievable as this was in FC3:

Yes, I hate those poxy drug/freak out parts of the Far Cry games.

The Birds are there I suspect to make this a 3D game, you are not safe underwater, on the ground, or from the air....
