Right, I'm confused - finished the main story, All outposts liberated, All bell towers hacked, All forts taken.
No sign of hurk. At all!
Anyone got any ideas?
Try going to the outpost in the South that's quite near where you start. It's the one with the Buzzer a bit to the north west (more west than north). Hurk should appear when you approach the buzzer and give you his mobile number. No sign of hurk. At all!

that's the point:the 980 can do the soft shadows and all the other effects and still produce the frame rates. The upgrade is less about raw frame rates than quality. The game ran fine on my 680 GTx at 2560x1440, but without most of the nice effects. On my new 980 GTX, everything is on.I'm looking forward to playing it tonight. The 980 GTX arrived yesterday but my 3-monitor setup was using two DVI-to-DVI cables and one DVI-HDMI (so using 2 x DVI and 1 x HDMI on the 770 GTX). The new GPU has only 1 x DVI, 1 x HDMI and 3 x DisplayPort, so I've had to order a DisplayPort cable. I've been lucky enough to be allowed to borrow one from work whilst the one I have ordered is in transit, so I should be up and running tonight.

Assuming you mean Surround video then no. Just a standard 3 monitor setup. The 3rd monitor is just an old 4:3 1600x1200 screen on which I run widgets, audio player, diagnostics apps, etc. It doesn't really do much apart from that. Main screen is 2560x1440 and the main side screen is 1920x1200.

Having (finally) got everything up and running and some time to play this, my initial impressions aren't hugely positive. It's the same feeling I felt when I first played 'Fallout: New Vegas', inasmuch as it feels like a huge DLC of the previous game rather than a new game.
Fair play to them for milking new money out of old rope and all, though.

This is in the Steam Sale today at 20% off - £35.99.
Or £46.89 for the Gold edition which is all the Limited Edition stuff and the Season Pass.
Still struggling to spend this sort of money on what is basically 'more Far Cry 3' especially as I'm having such fun with Just Cause 2 (I'm 35 hours in now) and that cost me £2
I'm thinking I'll wait for the FPS version of Grand Theft Auto V now....
Anyone going to talk me into FC4?

It's a Ubisoft game. Their games always represent an evolution rather than a revolution. As a result this was always going to be Farcry 3.5 rather than Farcry 4. That said, I loved FC3 and as a result thoroughly enjoyed FC4.
What were you expecting it to be?
Quite. What were you expecting it to be?
I feel that also, on the Xbox One and PS4 at least, this is finally the FC game they've always wanted to make. FC3 was a confused mash of ideas, a half-realised location and a story which was quite obviously cut short, presumably to meet a release deadline.
FC4 on the other hand, has a brilliant, rich game environment that is a joy to explore. The music, the characters, in particular the fabulous Pagan Min (the only likeable character in the game) and the spiritual journey of Ajay Ghale - an optional part of the game I'll admit, weaves together to make a remarkable gaming experience.
