I've not unlocked the North yet. I really ought to but that means progressing the main storyline and I actually find it a little tedious. It's currently at visiting the Monastery. I should probably just get on with it as I've got all the Bell Towers and most of the Outposts cleared on the South side.
i finally didnit yesterday, after discovering every single location in the South, speaking mining every Mani Wheel and pulling down every poster. The hugest started putting up replacement posters and Manu Wheels started to appear for turning again, so it was time to move on.

Nice change in landscape.

BTW, I quite liked Willis in FC3, but what a wker he is in FC4! Still, it resulted in a cool level.

Well, defending the Monastery was easier than I thought. I just planted mines and C4 on the two approach roads, and took out the helicopter with an RPG. Which was nice. smile

What are you supposed to do with all the money you collect?

I've just unlocked the North but I've had all the maps, weapons, optional items bought for some time and now my wallet is full (although still haven't unlocked the final Kyrat fashion week mission for the $5M wallet)

I normally attack outposts with stealth and the occasional elephant so don't get through much ammo. Is there something expensive i should be saving for? I'm now passing loot chests and not searching bodies as there is no longer any point....

Nope. It was exactly the same in FC3, unsurprisingly.

Incidentally, there was a community mod for FC3 that changed the game dynamics a lot, one of which was to unlock most weapons from the outset but made you actually buy them rather getting them for free by unlocking towers. And even then you ended up with more money than you knew what to do with.

Have you blinged up your mountain retreat yet? That will put a bit of a dent in it.

You can bling up all your weapons too... I also find just mooching around lobbing molotovs and C4 at anyone in red who comes near, can take up a fair bit of cash (and lives!)..

Spend it on your house, I wish their was an option to buy a car and bling it out and a chopper as well would have been nice.

The Honey Badger Fashion Week quest had me in absolute stitches. The build-up was immense, what with the "are you sure?", "are you really sure?" stuff to start the mission, the fact you're packing an LMG and still worried if you'll kill it, the trails of dead bodies all round the kill zone, a sense of palpable fear... it was like the killer rabbit in The Holy Grail. And then you mow it down with less than a magazine and think "Oh! Was that it?". Brilliant. hehe

Finally unlocked the North only to on two occasions get so pissed of with 'bugs' I alt+f4ed the game and went back to driving sims...

One time I took on the fortress closest to the bridge on the northern side, stealthed the whole thing by using a silenced rifle and skirting the high ground around the walls only to get no reaction from the game at all. Thought maybe if I moved away a bit and came back it might trigger some invisible switch in the map but nope, it had reset so I gave up.

The other time I was just climbing a radio tower, got to one particular jump and every time I tried it the character was opening the wing suit rather than grabbing a ledge. Queue on the 3rd go the inevitable death...

Had lots of other little bugs with it too, especially with things not 'triggering' properly, although I'll full admit I tend to intentionally make use of the open world'ness of open world games biggrin

Have to say that honey badgers in general are brilliant in this game. Was playing co-op with wongsuis yesterday,

tiger turns up "ok, no problem let's kill it I need he skin"

Honey badger turns up "fk a honey badger... Quick throw grenades!"

laugh

I'm really trying to love FC4, and for the most part I do. But Ubisoft have broken it at least twice now - one patch rendered it unplayable for me, the next fixed it and now the latest one will corrupt my save if I progress beyond a certain karma level.

Six patches on PC since this game came out. That is ludicrous.

Am I right in thinking that you have to do the Y quests to advance the main campaign? It's just that's all that's left on my map right now - no L, S, A or H quests. So I guess I have to?

God I hate Arena battles. Lazy, lazy padding on the part of games designers.

Finally got it downloaded and I'm managing about ten to fifteen minutes of it before it crashes and locks the PC - No task manager or alt-tabbing out of it, it just crashes everything.

Great fun.

Did this yesterday and it has to have been the funniest moment in the game so far. The trail of bones and bodies around it's lair (Rhino's, Tigers, Bears) laugh

As for loadout I'm running the silenced sniper rifle, LMG, grenade launcher and the compound bow. Been playing it two player co-op and two people armed with bows taking on an outpost is just amazing fun. And the sense of achievement when you take everyone without being spotted or raising alarms is just great. Can't imagine not having the bow in my loadout.

Managed a particularly gratifying triple kill with the bow last night. Three guards, all facing my way, stepped out from behind a tree and took each one in turn (two with headshots) before the spotted bar had even half filled. All this from about 60yds. In fact I use the bow more than I use the sniper rifle.

Just upgraded from PS3 to PS4, sadly no way to transfer progress? I'd gotten about halfway through the story mode, although I suppose this gives me a chance to try the alternate ending!

No uplay account on PS? On Pc, you get the same game on any PC if you log in with your uplay account.
