I'm just dicking around with stupid stuff now.

I wish I'd had some kind of video capture going just now. I was hovering in the Buzzer at altitude and spotted 3 Yaks below, so lobbed a rifle grenade at them with the one-handed grenade launcher. One Yak was blown a good distance in a somersaulting fireball whilst the other two ran off, on fire (like that bit with the cattle from the beginning of "Mars Attacks!"), through the bushes and grass, setting fire to everything as they went.

It was kind of awesome. hehe

Phew, now I've got both the final Shangri-La mission and Payback out of the way, so I hope there are no more trippy boss battles. Both of them ended up with me running around trying to get my shots on target and constantly pressing Heal. The end is nigh, but I still have to find some more side-missions that are not showing on the map, such as one more bomb-defusing and two more hunting supplies missions. I've deliberately left one outpost standing.

Ah I've got tonnes of side missions left to do, trying to unlock all the signature guns - I want at sniper rifle with full damage / accuracy / range stats. I played most the game sniping.

Did all radio towers a while ago, found it quite easy to just kamikaze the Buzzer onto the top platform and go straight for the radio box rather than trying to climb the bloody things. Got 3 'hard' outposts left to do now, bit of a pain when they've got a mortar, but still fun.

Couple more Fashion Week hunting challenges. The thing I'm not looking forward to is trying to reach top rank in the Arena - that's bloody tough, might have to use the Keys of Kyrat and get some co-op action going for that.

My favourite sniper rifle is the SA-50 with scope, suppressor and extended mag. It's a semi-auto sniper rifle which gives you a useful follow-up shot capability if needed. Seldom needed though as it can even take down a Heavy with one shot (provided it's a head shot). It also allows you to shoot ordinary soldiers through walls.

It's unlocked after the mission "Payback" which is where you kill Yuma.

I did unlock that, but I've kept the Z93 for now, it's a little more challenging but I love bolt-action rifles for sniping, as you have less room for error between shots.

I also used the Recurve Bow for a lot of the early game but found that later on it just isn't consistently powerful enough. I think my current loadout is:

D50 (Desert Eagle) sidearm; Z93 sniper with suppressor, advanced scope and extended mag; STG-90 assault rifle with red-dot and extended mag (needs swapping for an LMG as it's just not powerful enough against heavies); RPG - just because.

The Buzzsaw MG42 is now my non-silenced automatic weapon of choice. It's ridiculously overpowered though and makes things far too easy. The briefest burst can take down a Heavy and a short burst can even fell a rhino.

I used the Buzzsaw for a while, but it's just too powerful. I also used the AMR, but it is also too powerful and not at all stealthy. I'm thereofre sticking mostly to the recurve bow, SA-50, sidearm grenade launcher and either Shredder (for stealth) or Ripper (for power).

I was doing a hostage rescue mission last night in South Kyrat, at a spot on a river where soldiers had made a sort of pen that was keeping in 3 demon fish. Grenade launcher sent a shot into the pen, blew up the fish, jetting them out of the water... corpse landed on a hostage, killing her. Woops!

I had a hostage rescue mission where I successfully rescued all 4 hostages. Then as I turned to leave, a pack of wolves descended on them and killed 3 of them almost instantly. I saved the 4th by killing the wolves. Then as I turned to leave a 2nd time, an eagle swooped down and killed the 4th.

Oh dear.

Agreed. But because I've been playing it semi-seriously and watching my cash up until now (I have just done everything in South Kyrat and am about to head into the North over the bridge) I hadn't been mucking about too much and so I had missed alot of that sort of thing. But last night while zooming around full speed on the buzzer, I spotted a leopard running along below. Hit it with the grenade launcher and BOOM - the thing just shot off, in flames, up into the air, high above even me in the chopper. I didn't even see it come back down.

A bear taking down a yak is a pretty fun fight to watch.

Is it possibly to have multiple games going? On Far Cry 3 there were two game "slots" so you could start afresh without losing your place on your current game (a clear indication that it was a console port).

I'd like to see the alternate ending that you can trigger right at the beginning, but I don't want to lose my savegames in doing so.

I created another account with my PS4, that's the only way I know of to have multiple saves going.

Created it just for basically doing the opposite of what I did on my first save, just to see what the missions are like, but with the help of better weapons choices and skills to start with.

Don't watch your cash. It soon mounts up and you end up unable to sell because your wallet is full. I now always have 4m to 5m.

They're not really ports these days, but games developed for multiple platforms. I do miss proper PC game save systems, but I think quicksave would make FC4 too easy. You could hack quicksave into FC1, but I gave up using it, because I found I would reload every time I missed a sniper shot or set off an alarm.

Well, ok. But the point was that two "save slots" is very much a console paradigm rather than a PC one.

But I digress.

Anyway, maybe I'll just look for the alternate ending on YouTube. People usually video them.

Hi Chaps, anyone know where I can find hurk? I've entered the code I got with the game and remember that he visited me early on in the game but have nothing since from him. I cant see him listed on my map. I've pretty much done everything else

I had this issue - never properly resolved so gave up once I did the story mode missions.

I just had an H on the map whenever one of his missions became available.
