Mine's shipped from Game but only ordered yesterday lunchtime.

Other than better textures, what is the likely difference between PS3 and PS4 versions?

Mine unlocked last night at about 11pm. I went through the intro before bed. It is rather more demanding on systems than FC3. My system happily plays FC3 at 2560x1440 with full AA and AF, but FC4 is not smooth above 1080p for me (i7 3820, 680 GTX, 16GB RAM and a PCIe SSD). 980 GTX time, I think.

Reviews are coming out and it sounds like an absolute stinker. I read the big Edge preview article last month and was baffled by the tone and content. It seems I wasn't alone. The premise and bad guy , along with the bizarre animal stuff, just seem ludicrous. It appears the finished item really is yet another disappointing next gen let down

I was going to say. Story has been said to be a bit pants but otherwise its supposedly brilliant.

Im going to wait for the price drop I think. Bought GTA5 this morning on the Xbox One so looking forward to re-visiting it as a first person shooter. Cant wait!

I mean , don't get me wrong, it's not a 2/10. It just seems a rather stupid, racist, cruel, unhinged and incoherant kind of mish mash of stuff. Not my bag, and not what i'm hoping for from next gen. But then i've been disappointed by pretty much everything so far except Alien Isolation

IGN sees the flaws, but likes it a lot.

Metacritic has it at 8/10 on average at this stage.

Maybe we read that review differently, but I read it as saying "it's good but a little derivative; more of the same old same old" rather than "it's a stinker".

The cynical side of me says that Gamespot like to be overly critical of certain releases in order to gain hits. Or, they seem to have a dislike of anything misogynistic or daft, rightly or wrongly. The more rational side of me would suggest that I simply don't agree with their view on some releases. For example, they didn't like Alien Isolation much, where as I did.

Either way, as already highlighted, the general consensus among review sites seems positive. It may be a silly game and a mere extension of FC3 but if you liked the previous game and have a space in your life for a silly game then it's obviously a good option.

hopefully its better than AC Rogue - cos that has been pretty disappointing.
