Got it for the PS4. Only just got an hour or so of play, but it appears so far to be more of the same as Far Cry 3. But on the PS4 with lovely graphics. Good stuff. Getting f***ed off being attacked by an eagle though!

I've made a start to it and am enjoying it. It is very much in the tone of Far Cry 3 so far, and if you liked that (I loved it) then I suspect you will enjoy this. Loving Pagin Min so far too.

Hmmm. So the general feeling I'm getting is "if you liked Far Cry 3 and liked Blood Dragon, and don't mind stepping up for a third helping, then you'll love this too"

Much like Fallout: New Vegas felt like a super-DLC for Fallout 3, so is Far Cry 4 to Far Cry 3?

Hmmmmm. Maybe I'll give it a few months for the price to drop.

You expect a new game from the main publishers these days? I would say 90% of the current market is just made up of rehashed ideas.

Mind you I too will be waiting for this to be in the bargain bucket, roll on the steam sale.

Oh I made no comment on expectations. But my philosophy tends to be 'hope for the best but expect the worst'. It would have been nice to have been pleasantly surprised though.

Just had a first session of missions and exploring. Very much like FC3 but I also loved that. Story line seems ok so far and I guess it will grow on me though I hope that Pagan ends up as maniacal as Vaas was. Saying that, I am liking this a lot!

This is probably a good time to ask if this is going to be a 'with spoilers' thread or a 'no spoilers' thread. If the former then I'll probably want to unsubscribe.

I made a start on it yesterday afternoon and must say it really is just like an update to fc3 but in no way is that a bad thing as fc3 was an epic game. I've also bought advanced warfare and also think that's just a re-skin of previous versions and unfortunately they've done a little to update but it's still a bit stale. Also got thief and that really is good. It's like a cross between assassins creed and hitman and really enthralling. Will crack on further with fc4 and update as I progress.

Graphics so far look good & the game is interesting enough to continue with.

But isn't the XBox One UI a pile of poo !

Really enjoying it too. Agree with comments about It being like FC3, but I loved that game. SO I'm more than happy that they haven't messed with the formula!

Also, how tight do you have to be to wait for a price drop to buy a game that you're interested in? What are you going to save? Maybe £10-£15? I'm shocked so many people are like that! I'll buy any game on a whim. I bought Murdered: Soul suspect for £45, and honestly played 2 minutes. I couldn't care less as it's only £45!

Well, that's great for you and your loadsamoney wad. wink

Right now, I'm not that fussed about the game - I can take it or leave it right now. Yes, I'm interested in playing, but I'm not *desperate* to play it, so I may as well wait till the price stabilises. That doesn't make me tight, it just means I have different priorities to you. smile

My mate was like this with GTA5 on the PS3, I broke down the cost of computer games per hour for him (using his FIFA data) and showed its a cheap form of entertainment. He bought GTA and thanked me for talking him into it. I'v since talked him into a PS4 and the latest, FC4.

He thanked me for talking him into both, I have recently backed him to get FC4 over GTAV, so far he seems to be really enjoying it smile

£44 is after all, a piss up? Half decent meal for two? Two films for two people at the cinema? etc

Had a go last night and really enjoyed it. Very much like FarCry 3 but I went in expecting that.

Playing on PC, downloaded the 2-3 patches (hehe) when uplays servers were finally working but the game was pretty glitchy still. Birds stuck in mid-air, rhinos with the strength of superman etc. Made it pretty funny to be honest.

nvidea update came out a bit later last night and seems to have cured the texture/fps issues whilst in-car.

If they can sort the mouse settings out then I'd be very happy but still really enjoying it. Probably won't be back in here for a while as I'll be spending my time getting skins/unlocking weapons before tackling anything story based.
