A game like this needs proper handling, wide car choice, car customisation and nice roads/scenery.

FH1 missed the first three relative to FM4, and the fourth was ok but too small.

It sounds like they've fixed Multiplayer, in that (and I've found this in many games like this, test drive, burnout paradise, FH1, GTA5) I never wanted to go into multiplayer because it meant I couldn't carry on doing my single player stuff. But it sounds like single player and multi player are all the same thing here, so yay.

Hmm this definitely does not look like I was hoping. Very arcadey - although the original was.

I was hoping for forza 4 (or 5 I suppose) handling in a nice setting basically frown Was really hoping that this could be properly epic.

I found F5 to be a snoozefest. Not enough tracks, and the best ones from F4 were not included, not even the Nurburgring. To me, it felt rushed for release, half a game.
There are 3 additional tracks now :

Road America
Long Beach
Nurburgring

I don't agree that Forza 5 is half a game. The DLC tracks ensure that i return to the game every 6 weeks or so.
I'm still playing it 4 months after buying it, which was not the case with Forza 4.

Looks like a sprinkling of actually new cars in there, not bad and definitely better than I was expecting, as long as that's not all the new stuff and the rest is just old forza fodder.

Looks disappointing already really and the interview on one of those links sums it up.
"I wouldn't say its more arcadey, we've just made it easier, so people can drift and do things more"
So they've made it more arcadey.
I dont know why they just don't have the full racing version in an open world map. Re-release forza 4 with the map from horizon, or even try get the map from TDU 1.
All I want is bits from different games plugged together!

Really? I can only spot the Hurracan and the camper? All the rest I seem to remember driving in Forza previously.

I like the look of the game, but is it just a arcade style Forza with freeroaming? I loved Test Drive Unlimited 2 for the freedom but it also had great challenges, pick up passengers and deliver packages etc (however the actually driving was far too arcade and a bit pants).

So does Forza Horizon 2 have any challenges?

Games like this with an open world probably wouldn't be as fun if they were full on sims. Nothing wrong with an arcade element, from what I can tell it doesn't look too arcadey for want of a better word. It looks fun.

Indeed, just paying again and again for the same cars they've made since F3 when they refreshed a load of content and made HQ models of everything.

They do really nice visuals, but the gameplay looks completely unrewarding to me.

Why they can't do a TDU1 and at least penalise you if you damage the car a bit, or even have a professional mode that is harder to drive so it's rewarding in different ways to different people.

Given that "DAN" says it's just F5 underneath but tuned to be forgiving, it doesn't seem unreasonable to be able to turn things back to a simulation type driving experience for those that want to play the game like that.

Ah well, their loss.
