It's a fun expansion if a little small. As well as the few new cars you get there is also some nice new rally bodywork for quite a few cars. Evo, Escort cosworth ect.

I think it's worth a punt at £8.

I enjoyed storm island more than the proper game to be honest, the roads are twistier with more elevation changes so much more fun.

The normal map being either tight city with right angle corners or open country with 200mph roads.

I really preferred the map in Horizon 1.

Just seems a shame that they went to so much effort to make the destination recognisable but buggered up the roads.
I visited both nice and the Amalfi coast last year.
nice as a town they have about right but rahter than all the open area on the map they should have done a replica of the Col du Turini or similar for a nice driving challenge.
Similarly with the Amalfi coast road on the game you can do 150mph+ I was struggling to break 60-70 along there.

A bit of a thread bump...

I've just picked this up for £25 online.

Now that Forza 6 is out, are people still playing this?

I've downloaded the free cars and got my rewards through the Forza Hub. Are the DLC packs worth the money? I am tempted by the £20 Car Pass which apparently gives access to 31 cars.

Also, Storm Island is only £8 at the moment!

I'm sure people will still play horizon, it's a different kind of game to forza 6.

As for the cars packs/ season pass, you can look at what's in the packs on the storefront and decide from there if they are worth it or not.

Storm island is a good addition to the game and I would recommend it.

Horizon 2 is £15 in the XO store today.

That's an absolute bargain.

Ive just bought this for 360... Played for half an hour and I'm not enjoying it, the handling feels like an old Need for Speed or similar. Am I right in thinking the Xbox One version is different to play?

I know it's not supposed to be a sim like the last one I played, FM4, but I want to have fun!

Its way more of an arcade racer then simulator type game. Get FM5 or 6. Both are good on that end of things.

I'm pretty sure the Horizon series uses the same car physics as the Motorsport series. Its just that the roads in Horizon are much more open in general which makes it seem arcade as you don't have to slow as much.
I do think Horizon 2 is the worst of the 3 Horizons though.
The first one had much tighter roads that were more memorable, the second was larger but mostly meh the 3rd is massive and has a lot of good lower speed twisty areas.
My favourite road is still the road to the top of the mountain in the first one though.

On the other hand, Forza Horizon 2 is one of my favourite games within the entire Forza franchise! It probably helps that I love the South of France and Northern Italy, whereby I've been on a few road trips that have passed through these two, vast areas. Horizon 2 is a very good, almost perfect representation! Nice isn't perfectly mapped out, but the important landmarks are ... It serves as a means for me to reminisce, as well as persuade me to re-visit again! :P

Motorsport 4 was one of my highlights, and FH3 is very good too! I think FH2 has better graphical capabilities on the XBox One. Handling is similar to that of the Motorsport series, but it's certainly not Need For Speed! Coming from a longstanding fan of NFS (Played the original back in the day!), this particular series has lost it's magic. The handling is awful in some of the newer titles.

Go into the settings and turn off traction control and stabililty control, set the braking to ABS only and the steering to normal. Should sort it out - with all of the turned on to the max the driving is rubbish. You can also tune the cars to behave differently (Recommend all the suspension travel if you can as it's not a smooth race tack)

I know what you mean. I too recognise the general layout and landmarks from trips to Nice and the Amalfi coast. but although some of the landmarks were there the roads are noting like the real thing. The real Amalfi coast road is a narrow really twisty thing which would be great to play but the game version you can do 100-150mph along most of it and about 5 cars wide where the real one is a squeeze for 2 in places.
There was so much potential for awesome roads in that area that were missed.

I seem to recall that the 360 version was turned down quite a lot compared to xb1. I got it for 360 initially not long before I got the newer console. Traded for the xb1 version at the same time and was much more fun
