I may actually go out and buy a PS4 for this after playing the demo on PC.
Mostly so the boy and I can play split screen co-op.

I've not player Fallout 3 yet. And I'll probably get it on PC anyway.

Plus the lad is only 5 (well 6 when we get this). The wife doesn't like him playing shooty games so CoD etc are right out, I reckon I can get star wars past the filter.

I was concerned from the alpha footage it would be a bit boring. There's little skill involved and I think the Walker Assault level is pretty imbalanced.

Rainbow Six Siege looks like a MUCH better proposition.

Uninstalled it, was interesting initially because of the ascetic but the gameplay is boring, repetitive and it already felt like the few people who'd hit the grind to unlock things had quite a big advantage.

No ta for me am afraid.

Played as Darth Vader yesterday it was excellent, killed loads of rebels by aiming their shots at each other and force strangling them.. Also destroyed an ATAT with the snow speeder harpoon. (Why on earth did they have a harpoon?) I think it's a great game.

It seems to take me a full round to kill someone ,yet I die from 2 shots.
Is there any advantage ads ing at anything other than large distances ? Seems head shots don't do any more damage than a foot shot and hip firing is pretty accurate
I got bored after 20 minutes ,but I will give it a bit more time to impress me.
Visually great though.

Played around 45 mins to an hour of it.

seriously not that impressed with it TBH. Doesn't appear to be any direction in the gameplay and the minimap is pure bks. Think it's gone down the pecking order of next games to get

Fallout 4
Need for speed
Star wars battlefront

I found exactly the same on the Xbone. Full clip will kill them 2 shots and I'm down. Looks amazing and will give it a go again

So basically you two don't like it because you're not very good at it? hehe

Depends on what guns you each have. Some are more powerful but slower firing/overheat faster...

Do you have Thermal Detonators yet?

The beta did the job for me, just pre-ordered the game. Also canceled COD BO3 since I was really unsure about it with all the wall running rubbish. Star Wars should keep me going for a while smile

I had reservations. Been playing fps since heretic when I was about 5. Been playing online fps since hl2 death match. Used to play cod religiously until mw3. Not played much since then (20 minutes of bf4 before selling it on). Really enjoyed this beta though. Finished with a kd of 1.43 and a win percentage of 70%. I didn't play a huge amount of Walker Assault simply because the rebels have it so hard. Anyway here's a few vids I made. Some funny bits, killstreaks, relatively long headshots and a full match win and top score.

Surprised by the amount of people who don't want to play it because it's hard playing as the Rebels. I think it's suppose to be! Just wait until the third phase and use the snow speeders on the AT-ATs. It's more a case of people playing TDM and not really doing what they are suppose to.

Having played the Beta comprehensively I’m definitely in.

Initially I totally agreed with a lot of people on here saying that the game has a lack of depth and thus longevity, however the more I have played the more the depth I have found so in my view we’ll have to wait and see. However I am more than confident that I will get my monies worth from it.

Its been really interesting seeing play evolve over the full four days. On day one/two Walker Assault certainly seemed unbalanced as it’s the rebels who really need to play the objective and also not shoot an unsparking AT AT. By yesterday the tide had definitely turned, one game last night we had both AT ATs down at the first wave of Y-wings which on Thursday I would have said was impossible.

Can’t wait to release day.

Found very few people using turrets or cannons. Massively overpowered in my opinion. Quite easy to get 10+ kills from distance before being taken out. The turrets really help suppressing the enemy when taking over an objective if you can find the pinch points on the map.

AT-ST can be taken out fairly easily using Ion charge on weapons, even the snipers do big damage. Found flying really hard, until I inverted the y axis. then it was ok but by then other players were so good it was difficult to compete. It would be nice to have a ground based anti air solution. Didn't see one on Hoth.

Was quite good overall for a free Beta. looking forward to other maps and game types. Have to be good to get me away from BF4.

Agree.

Day one was "Oh st I'm a rebel... oh well" but by yesterday it was much more of a "we can do this" attitude and judging by the fact that I was on the winning rebel team about 5 times everyone else had figured the same. In fact once the rebel team gets organised and works together it's almost more of a challenge being an Imperial on that map.

I was stupidly chuffed at getting the killing shot on the final AT-AT in one game using a Snowspeeder hehe

The Snowspeeder is superb to fly too. not super fast but really easy to flip about at low altitude and ability to pop the airbrakes and turn hard while only a few feet off the deck make it quite hard to shoot down by the tie fighters.
