Did anyone manage to play with a friend on the beta? I tried to invite a friend through the partner function as you don't have traditional squads in ST:BF (another strange decision!) but for the life of me couldn't get it to work. Did anyone else have any luck or is this not available on the beta, even though it looks like it is?
Managed to play the survival mode with a friend and also the Walker assault without any problems. It was a bit weird though as I had to specifically choose them again as a partner once in the game, even though we were already in the same party.

Okay, well if I am testing this out for you would you mind getting hold of Nobunaga's Ambition and test that for me? smile

No need, he reviews games before they've been released and doesn't need to play the betas to give his final assessment. hehe

It's a beta ,but. One would expect when the full game is out there should be no issue,if other games can manage it.

Oh, I know it's a beta I was just commenting on the fact I couldn't get it to work.

I was doing a little more reading. It seems there will be no split screen on the PC version and no online split screen at all (only the survival type missions) which is a bit disappointing. I'm useless at FPS with a controller so online is worthless to me on the PS4 but I can't do co-op with the lad on the PC.

mmmm.

I think BF4 can do this so i'd expect the full game to be able to.

I made the point earlier that you can do it in games like shadow of mordor, which has no need to be able to swap,so surely it would not be beyond them to sort it out,and as you said its in bf4 and in earlier bf games as well I think .

so they have no excuse not to.

I swear I read on other forums people were using KB+M for on foot and their controller for flying

Hope so as it would make the game so much better

It's definitely in the game... worked for me without a hitch. Well I say that, I was pretty bad at flying, but you can 100% use a controller for it and KB+M for foot. Hopefully they'll iron out any bugs for final version.

Thought I was going to hate this game, but can't wait for launch after playing the beta. May even break the habit of a lifetime and pre-order to get that early map access they keep promoting on Origin.

I am guessing that the servers are now down for the BETA?

Can't quite wait for the full game. No idea where I am going to find the time to play it and Fallout 4 or even which will take up the most time in November....

I had it working fine over the weekend on XBOX.

Yep tried to get on yesterday evening too and looks like that's it. November is going to be a busy month indeed, I should probably pre-warn the OH that I'll be in my "office" for long periods during that month.

I did actually do some pretty in depth reading on NA. It looks immense and as you know I'm a sucker for good bit of strategy.
Conclusion: "if only I had the time".

If you're still keen to pre-order this, Rakuten have a 10% discount code running today. It's OCTPAYDAY2 and you need to select 'The Game Collection' merchant for the cheapest price. I just got it for £36.89 using the points I had on my account too.

CD Keys still have it for £29.90 and then £2.99 for the Battle of Jakku DLC.

Cheeky fks. Jakku is free content! I guess they're trying to sell the 1 week early access for pre-orders, All you'd have to do is wait till December 8th or something like that and its free.

It is a bit cheeky but the main game is cheaper than anywhere else I have seen.

That's the PC price though isn't it? The price I mentioned (should have been more specific) was for the PS4 version. Not seen it as cheap anywhere else.
