Getting bored of this now too. In a good game its really enjoyable, but in a bad game its too easy for the enemy to camp the opponents spawn both on foot and in the air vehicles. The spawn video sequence in an air vehicle also leaves you completely open to being destroyed as soon as you gain control. If it were physically possible to reach through the screen and strangle people I would be absolutely worn out this afternoon.
I thought Dice said they were going to patch it to avoid most of the spawn camping that seems to go on. I just had a great game where the chap on the other team was 55 to 1. Looks like he has managed to have explosive bolts on constantly and only 1 in around 50 shots hit him.....where the hell did punkbuster go? Or more to the point why cant I host my own sever and kick these clowns?Daston said:

Not really played this game much, but as I understand it you can make the explosive bolts very powerful.you can buy charges with your credits for the bolts,so go into a game 'charged up' and you will have a lot of bolts to use.Been playing this on EA Access, and unfortunately I think the 10 hours they give you to play it on EA Access as a trial will be enough for me to say I won't be buying it
The gameplay and everything is amazing, especially on 40 man Supremacy, but the progression doesn't really go too deep and all becomes a bit repetitive after a while and I still have 5 hours of my trial to play yet! If I had gone out and bought it I can easily see it as being a game that you'd turn on for a quick game then get bored quickly as people have said. Shame really as I absolutely LOVED the PS2 version.

I think part of the problem is not having a squad based system I have found in the 40 player games your just working on your own and very rarely will you get people helping you with an objective. I managed to break a stalemate as Luke and hoped my team would move up and take the objective whilst I held back the stormtroopers. Alas it would just be a lone wolf mission and poor Luke got gunned down like a chump. Has anyone won as the Empire on the Endor Walker assault?

Yup. Also several times won as rebels at the first checkpoint on Hoth.I see it as a casual shooter, and thats how it plays best.
I only jump in when I'm not on Fallout/being social with some friends. The 2 man squad thing is a bit meh, it just doesn't seem that fluidly designed.

Need to have larger squads to actually play IMHO. I get fed up spawning 200 miles from the action and getting shot by an AT-ST before I get near the main scrap...
This is my biggest gripe, you could end up partnered with someone who has a totally different style of play and you end up running all game. Was very excited to get this but after about 6 hours of play I already feel like I've seen and done everything in it and there are no surprised left.
The new weapons and items you can unlock don't really seem to change the game a great deal, so there isn't the draw that I get in other games to keep playing to unlock/buy everything.
The one thing in its favour is it's quick to dive in, so it may remain as one of those games you fancy playing when you've only got 30 minutes. But after more than a year of being hooked to Destiny I've found Battlefront to be a bit flat.

Played a couple of hours at a friends house, just to see if I was making a mistake by not picking it up and sad to say I don't think I am. As others have said it's fun in small doses but it gets old very quickly.
I think they were relying on the "OMG Star Wars" factor and the fact that it's so pretty to see it through but unfortunately it has about as much depth as a toddlers paddling pool. When I compare it the value I am getting from Fallout 4 which I picked up for £30 and so far have probably put about 30 hours into and barely scratched the surface, this seems very poor at £40 let alone the £80-£100 they want for the full experience.
It would be too much to hope that the sales tank as it's Star Wars but I really hope they don't do as well as they were hoping as EA and Dice deserve a massive kick up the arse for this lacklustre cash-in, this had soooo much potential to be awesome, all they needed to do was release an updated version of the previous Star Wars Battlefront or make it a properly deep Battlefield game, why they released this half-baked BF-lite version is bizarre in the extreme.

I really, really wanted to like this game, but..... I think I've got to agree with the general sentiment here, there's a lack of detail, not visually mind, it seems like they spent all their time polishing it and making the graphics super slick whilst forgetting that you just want to immerse yourself in the Star Wars Universe. Even my 10yr old son said that it's a shame there isn't a story mode or something similar - I mean I sort of know that it's not what this game is about, but everyone would buy in to that and play it!
Saying that I do enjoy the Hoth levels - bringing down an AT AT is still very satisfying and the Endor levels on the Speeder bikes is excellent once you get used to the controls and how to stop banging in to trees which ends the game rather rapidly!!
We'll see - I keep on thinking I've missed a menu option or something and that there's loads of content hidden away... Maybe Jakku will give a bit more...? Haven't downloaded that yet.

I desperately wanted to like this game. Unfortunately it has turned out to be a shallow, buggy piece of crap and now that the "woo star wars noises" effect has worn off I am bitterly disappointed. Add to that the fact that I suffer from a problem where I get poor server connection the game is sometimes unplayable. (Every time I have the problem I quit the game and do a speed test and all is as it should be)
The first time AND THE LAST time that I ever pre order a game from EA.

For me, after 10 odd years of Battlefield, its the lack of depth to it all. The new map they added last week is about as big as some of the team deployment areas/bases on BF, and only one game mode on it. Back to BF I think. The first time AND THE LAST time that I ever pre order a game from EA.

I've vowed never to pre-order or pay for early access games from ANYONE, I've been stung and disappointed so many times with big launches being buggy and rubbish, early access games never getting to release standard, etc. that I've given up getting excited about them. The first time AND THE LAST time that I ever pre order a game from EA.
Warhammer Total War does look so pretty mind...
