Sorry I am of that generation but think this is p*ss poor. Yes it makes the right noises and looks pretty but that's about it. The best way I can describe it is it's a game designed to appeal to people who don't play games much.Guvernator said:

I agree the game is substandard in terms of gameplay etc in comparison to Battlefield but you can be Skywalker and have a Sabre fight with Vader!! Not for long mind, but it is hilarious at the time. You can fly an X-Wing and shoot down Tie Fighters. You can fly a Tie interceptor and line up behind an X-Wing (which requires you to say something in your head in Vader's voice as you open fire) and blow it from the sky...
To be frank my main gripe is that stormtroopers have their helmets off. This to me is a step too far with personalisation.

Tie Fighter was one of my fave ever games. This isn't as good, but its still mighty fun. Only with far more depth and rewarding gameplay.

A bit crap when PSN is down like last night though, Solo play is pretty limited and bit dull.
It takes more than hefty dollop of nostalgia to make a decent SW game.

You got shot by fighters?? When I played it I tried doing some strafing runs a couple of times and usually ended up plowing into the ground, it was almost impossible so kudos to anyone with the patience\skill to learn how to do that.But I should have said, actually my main gripe with the game is the spawn killing which is a joke. If you fly slowly you can just shoot where the enemy spawn..I haven't experienced much spawn killing yet, although I've only really had a couple of sessions so far. I've been playing mostly walker assault as I just love the large maps and how hectic it is!
So far, I'm really enjoying it. It is such a refreshing change from Black Ops 3 and much more accessible. I'm not terribly good but, I usually finish each match feeling like I wasn't completely useless!

Not much spawn killing for me either (xbox1) I seem to do a good enough job running in to opponents firing line quickly enough!!
Got a bit bored last night - 'my team' was heavily under equipped and so the opposing teams just shot us in one go every time - with the DL44 or whatever Han Solo's blaster is called. Haven't got to LVL25 yet to get that.
Had a few bizarre battles as well - one where it was just me VS 6... and then another where it was 6 of us VS no one!! (we just scraped that one!)
I quite liked the 'uplink' ones over Christmas but they're gone for the moment.
Need more practice and better weapons!

Must just be on the PS4 then. Two examples from this evening.
6 times. Yes, 6 times, on the Hoth game, some f***er sat in the gun turret down the hill and shot me as I spawned.
Different game (Desert one with Jawa) , 3 times in succession I spawned (f****ng annoyingly in different parts of the map) within 3ft of Vader who then just sliced me up. 3 lives instantly wasted. FFS. Oh, and in this same game I spawned 3-4 times at the end of the map but some p**ks were behind the spawn point so shot me in the back. And the side when I tried to turn to spot them before I got shot by them..
It is a joke. Really ruining the game for me right now.

Having said that, I don't generally last very long after spawning anyway
It's not polished and doesn't require as much skill as a lot of FPS games, but it's good fun.
After playing for a little while since Christmas (hit about level 28), I'm finding that there's nothing left to do. Little to level up, unlock, achieve, etc. - it's not one for the long term in the way of progression, just in terms of general pick up and play occasionally enjoyment.

After my PS3 packed up 2 years ago it's time to have a ps4 . Santa left one with Star Wars B . At 1st didn't like the game one bit,but now am warming to it more . It's good for a quick game before bed or when time is short . Also just downloaded battlefield 4 for £8.00 on psn which I love but getting hammered as I'm two years behind but still a great game for he price.
