Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

Jr is obsessed with Battlefront and is grinding his way though it, ignorant of any playability/depth/balance issues due to his tender years, and is looking forward to the DLC.

I'm not though as it appears to be another £40 for the season pass!

Any way to get this cheaper, other than wait until it's been out a while? (I notice that the game itself is now down to £28 )

cd-keys is a little cheaper and you may well be able to do a Quidco on it, but it's £37 on there, so not a lot of difference - of course probably better to wait... I think there's supposed to be something you can do by changing your country to Columbia or something in Xbox Live and purchasing it from there in USD which lowers it a lot... I haven't tried this - some may well have.

The main game was in an EA sale on the xbox recently, I can see the season pass being reduced soon after the first DLC also.

Little lad who is 4 plays this to death and loves it. I've stopped playing it's it lacks anything and I get bored after 2 matches.

He got quite excited that Luke has had an outfit change in both and has a blue lightsabre:-)

Anyone know where we can look to get a reduced Season Pass? I seriously resent paying £40 when I already paid £40 for the game. I know I am going to pay it though and that annoys me even more. I want a Death Star level and if they said they were doing a space battle I'd be in like flynn...

Also, I can confirm that on the PS4 people can cheat! I suspected it massively, but know I am 99% sure.

It'll be cheat controllers. You see it loads in COD as well.

cd-keys reduces it a little - £35.99 on PS4 afaik

It'll be cheat controllers. You see it loads in COD as well.

And BF4, for £80 you can get a modded controller from ebay with some chip or other that allows you to auto fire single/burst shot weapons and drop to laying down/on your knees while doing so.

Generally identifiable by people with stupidly high k/d ratios and youtube 'stars'

Or, you know, someone who is better than average/you at the game?

Back when I was in uni and had all day to play CoD it was easy to average a 6/1 KD ratio. Especially when it's a self fulfilling prophecy due to killstreaks stacking.

You know where players will be, you know how the map plays, you know what weapons/equipment suits your play style best. All things that putting time into the game and having some level of thinking rather than just running around gives you.

A trick if you want to "drop shot" is just go into the options and change the buttons for prone? I used to put it onto the RH thumbstick and swap it with melee.

It's a pet hate of mine where you get people moaning that others are cheating because they're losing, and that couldn't possibly be because someone is having a good game or is better then you.

My son is very good at these first person shooters. He usually comes near the top on BF and in star wars battlefront. I used to play these games loads and he's simply way better than me. I watch him play and by the time I see the target and take aim, he's already shot it. Knowing the levels and how the game works etc makes all the difference too.

Well, I tend to be at the top of the boards in Battlefront and Battlefield. BUT you get the people who insta-kill you.

And last night it was a chap who had some cheat on and went 45 -3 deaths. Then he must have switched it off, as he went 49 - 14 deaths......... And within about 3 mins of the game starting he had 19 kills!

Is this the same COD that relies on your connection to the host and could be manipulated via lag switches? Not saying that you did but it did start to become common place when i played. Let me guess no such thing existed and it was my connection that allowed me to run x amount of seconds then get teleported back and die?

So how do you explain people firing semi-auto weapons in full auto mode or are there fingers just going a dime a dozen on R1?

While youth can play a part in it, ive found the refresh rate of a tv screen and the actual connection to the game being the greater game play changer along with the regions in which your opposing players come from, ie out of region though playing against the Scandanavians is equally frustrating as you just seem to be a split second behind them no matter what. I play with a guy who freely admits he has st internet and the dude is a bullet sponge yet he looks at you and its a one shot kill. Is he better than me or just has an unfair advantage with his connection.

Im not crying about my k/d or whatever either as since the last major upgrade and swapping my tv for one with a better refresh rate, my gameplay experience has improved no end and 'ive got better'.

So yes while there maybe people better at the game than me (BF4, i stay well away from planes as i admit i suck), i would say that it comes down to the connection everyone has to the game and im really hoping BF5 has region lock, like that free alien BF4 style game had (that i cant remember the name of).

Ill speak to Jon- and see if he is up for an experiment with COD

Is this on the Graveyard of Giants map, on Jakku?

They'll have the 'right' weapon and also possibly Star Card in operation and will have spent ages analysing whereabouts they can safely hole up and where 'most' people will either spawn or walk to thinking they are safe from attack. You'll need to start thinking and acting like them to match them. I've tried it a little, but it is dull. Of course points are scored for Objectives and so on, not just being a sniper and getting a decent K/D ratio.

But how can you have the right weapon? IN the Snow Speeder you have the guns, that is it. So how can they shoot me at a range when I am in the ship I can't see anything?!!?
