I am still playing this but mainly because it is Star Wars - the noises etc...

But the Jabba Contracts irritate me - got a pistol that "stings" but it appears to be s***e and it's nearly impossible to get kills with it......

ETA - and sooooon the Death Star will arrive.... I just need to get the VR kit !

Evening chaps, bought this last week for my son on ps4. Been playing a bit for the last few days and I'm really struggling with it. Now I appreciate that people play these games to death and there are all sorts of whiz kids, lags, cheats and all sorts of reasons why I would be rubish at the game but I seem to be miles off the pace and really hope I'm missing something.

I'm hardly a game playing hot shot and am well past my best on this sort of thing nowadays, but only a couple of years ago I was rocking the top of the charts on mw2, with 4 or 5 prestiges under my belt and would regularly end up winning free for alls with a 30/5 ish ratio. Can I have gone downhill that quickly or am I missing some thing? I am struggling to get more than an odd kill on Star Wars, can anybody give me a quick idiots guide please? I seem to get shot before I've scoped and even when I do shoot I'm getting nowhere. Is there a stopping power pro type upgrade I need to level up to perhaps?

Thanks all.
The main problem now is it's been out a while so the casuals have mostly left it. I dip in and and out and noticed on my last go a few weeks ago 90% of the players were level 50+. That makes it astonishingly hard to come in as a newb.

I would support that theory. I picked it up when I moved from the ps3 to ps4 a month ago.
It's been a mixed progression to rank 26. Now, I'm well aware I'm crap with a controller as I've been 95% a PC gamer and therefore the keyboard + mouse interface is second nature and this accounts for a huge chunk of my crap K/D ratio, but the number of games where everyone seems to be 50+ is frustrating. However, there's nothing you can really do but plug away.

And soon there will be a new bunch of maps which means if you get on them quickly, no-one will know the "best" spots etc so you can level up.......

I dislike all these games with levels/skills/perks as it gives the more experienced players an advantage over the newbies which will put them off. It should be just skill that matters.

Are player 'levels' in this game down to people acually achieving things or is it just due to sheer amount of time played?

On battlefield for example, if you play long enough you eventually level up a lot. So the players with the highest scores arent necessarily brilliant, just the ones who havent seen the outside for a few months hehe

I think my own 'ranking' is 70% time played and 30% skill.

Played this for a few weeks when I bought it and then not really touched it since. I will go back in at some point but as I suspected before I bought it, it just doesn't have the longevity. Most of the weapons are much of a much-ness and there is very little tactical gameplay involved. Spawn, run into a firefight, kill a few people then get mowed down by a group or that person you didn't see.

It's frantic which can be fun in small doses but doesn't really reward long term effort. If it wasn't Star Wars, I'd have traded it in by now. As it is it was worth the £20 I paid for it but would have been gutted if I'd paid the full price of £50 for it.

But then if you have a VR kit, in a month or so you will be able to fly an X-Wing at a Death Star........ Now that is worth the purchase price alone!

That does look amazing but people who have tried the demo of it have been a little underwhelmed apparently, not really sure why though.

Oh yes. Was disappointed with the Bespin DLC but I really loved the Outer Rim DLC (Extraction is my fave game mode and only in Outer Rim). This looks like it should be incredible.

Strange, I've read a few reviews of the demo and all of them were glowing with praise? all of the reviewers wanted to play further (the demo finishes with a star destroyer arriving above you ready for part 2 of the mission...)

Are you thinking of the Star Wars VR mission for HTC vive where you fix the Falcon? That is visually stunning but very, very dull. I haven't seen a good review of that anywhere.

Are the servers still relatively full for the game?

I can't remember the last time I saw someone on my friends list (probably 200 reasonably active gamers) play it and they seem to be pretty much giving the game away at the moment?
