And there is a VR mission apparently for anyone who has a PSVR (which I do).

Hasn't this been rebranded into BF1? Seems like it?

Well worth playing. Only 15 minutes' worth, but utterly astounding. A 2D space sim will be unplayable afterwards!

Tried the VR mission at a mates house who has managed to bag a PSVR (lucky sod) and I was absolutely blown away. OK the gameplay itself isn't that great as it's a pretty generic on rails type shooter but the immersion and atmosphere are absolutely astounding.

Stepping into an X-Wing and actually looking around the cockpit, you almost feel like you can reach out and physically touch it. Looking behind you to see your R2 unit and the engines. Watching the attack foils open and the cockpit lighting up around you as you fire your lasers then getting into the thick of fighting with Tie fighters and a Star Destroyer. In short after playing it in VR, normal gaming just feels very tame in comparison, this really is the future.

They really need to release a VR, Death Star trench run level ASAP, that would be amazing!

I fired this up earlier, having not played it for many months. I'd forgotten how much fun it is. I haven't got any of the DLCs but, from what I've been reading, they're well worth picking up.....very tempted!

ETA - Season pass is 60% off on PSN. Just caved and bought it thumbup

Yeah, it seemed like too good a deal to pass up (Anton picked it up too)

Don't worry about the invite, no doubt our gaming paths will cross again soon enough. I've even been getting back into the Division lately, it is WAY better nowadays!

Cool might give that a shot next week as well, looks like it is also getting a Pro patch.

I would also suggest anyone tries the Star Wars VR mission, short but very cool.

Xbox Gold account holders can purchase Ultimate edition for £17.99 - I think the deal runs out today.

I've got back in to this - in a way it's interesting to play on the new maps and I'm trying to unlock as many new weapons and so on before they switch the game off!!

There is definitely a good ebb and flow to some of the games and for the most they don't feel too imbalanced.

I always enjoy tracking down and beating a decent player on the opposite side smile

Bespin is a great map - there's so much more to it than some of the other maps.

I need to complete a take down of the Deathstar to complete a challenge, now that I've activated that particular challenge.

The new Heroes are great as well - although I struggled a bit with Krennic - lots of people seem to 'own' a particular game when they are him - Armour Breaker seems to be a popular method of attack when playing as him.

Very much doubt the game will be switched off for a few years yet.

Bought my PS4 just for this game and despite having it for well over a year now it's still the game I play the most. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is due later this year.

Trailer for Battlefront 2 due April the 15th.

I'll need to read some very positive, very real world reviews before I buy it.

This.

They struggled with a lack of Season Pass holders IMO. Those that paid for the access to the extra content can't really use it that much as there aren't enough people with access to the extra content. Those that don't have the content just play the free stuff, thinking all the Season Pass holders are off playing the 'good stuff'. So both sides lose out and get annoyed.

If they reached a critical mass of Season Pass holders they wouldn't have this problem.

The sequel needs a fully fleshed out single player element to it. I liked Battlefront but I'm not really an online gamer.

Perhaps if they didn't try to charge £100+ for the game and season pass they'd have had more people playing. This "Super deluxe super premium Edition" greed that seems to have infected the gaming industry is BS tbh.

I don't mind paying for new content but if you release half a game and then expect people to pay extortionate amounts to get the rest you end up with this.

Agree with this 100% - If it didn't have Star Wars on the box I wouldn't have bothered. Thankfully didn't pay quite as much as you say for this game. I added the season pass later on.

I broke my own 'never pre-order games' rule for this one. The game just re-inforced this rule.

I might get the season pass when it goes down in price, don't think as a whole it's worth full price

I bought the game when it reduced in price for about £20, it was fun for a few weeks but not enough depth or content to keep it going in the long term. I would have felt mugged off if I'd paid £40-£50 for it let alone another £40-£50 for a season pass.

The new one will have to do a lot better content wise IMO. Extended VR missions like the X wing VR demo would really help for starters.
