No Mans Sky - looks interesting
Discussion
This game causes my GPU to overheat.
I've only just realised that you can fly around the planet. I was walking everywhere.
It really needs a map, one that gets plotted out by you as you explore, I want to go back to an alien I found with what he was looking for but I now can't find the bugger.

You can set a custom waypoint / tag with the Analysis Visor. It shows up as a small white dot on the screen. Now asking me how to do it is a different story. I did it once by accident and now I can't figure out the combo of keys / buttons to make it happen again. It's probably simple though - maybe it isn't a button but by focusing on the structure, crash site etc. I'll have to give it another go tonight.
76c if I recall, which is nowhere near the limit which seems to be 92c. According some sites the gpu starts underclocking itself at 86c.
I'm running a 980ti so it should be man enough. I usually run VR things and other games like Doom, FO4, Rise of the TR etc all run flat out with no issue.
Power is a good brand of PSU 720w, I have headroom in those stakes.
CPU is an older i5 but above min spec and as I said I've no problem running other AAA games at high settings.

That's a bit odd. My 980ti is running it fine at c70FPS and a max of 62c. I'm also running an i5 (3570) FWIWI'm running a 980ti so it should be man enough. I usually run VR things and other games like Doom, FO4, Rise of the TR etc all run flat out with no issue.

Found a humoungous gold deposit tonight. Took a good half hour to mine it - got 3500 units of gold, which netted me almost a million credits. Only problem was when I got to the bottom I fell through the world! Turns out the core of the planet is water so I ended up with an inaccessible watery grave, but not before I transferred all my booty to the ship

i5 3570k. What os are you running w10?
How are you checking the fps?
Yup running W10. I'm using Core Temp http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ to check on going temps and core load, I'm then just using Steam's FPS counter overlay http://www.howtogeek.com/209710/4-quick-ways-to-se...How are you checking the fps?
It's crap. Rushed to sale and not even vaguely finished. The fact that there is more discussion about how to make the game actually run rather than the gameplay should give you an idea of how poor the product is. Thing is, even when it's running properly (like on PS4 bar the odd crash here and there) it's just a crap game.

If they had released as early access/beta for £15...Vaud said:

If they had released as early access/beta for £15...Very, very lucrative if you can pull it off but they have you by the balls and will ruin you if you don't deliver when you say you will.
Not excusing the launch version of the game, but development of any kind can and will see delays most of the time and in this case they had to sacrifice content to meet the release date.
Hopefully we'll see them patch in more features as I'd like to pick it up in the future.

sorry abt that started a thread then noticed this one, what do you guys think of the game so far? i was actually very dissapointed but am hopeful with the future content patches the developers talked about.
I enjoy it. Currently I'm mining a planet for Emril and also has plenty of Plutonium for take off and landings.Ive a full inventory (ship and exosuit) and im going to sell it and rinse and repeat until ive got a comfortable amount of money (maybe 1.5m units)
I enjoy the game a lot so far. Ive had a couple of weird things however
One crash when i first warped. Fine since.
On one take off I went flying to atmosphere in space looking at the planet.
Aside from that its been OK!
For such an ambitious game we have to understand an elementy of buggyness and I have played less complex games which are far more buggy from much more well staffed development teams.

As soon as Sony got involved their hands were pretty tied when it came to release dates. I've had some conversations with the devs of a very popular game on Steam currently that have made deals with Sony and Microsoft regarding console launches.

It does look like they sacrificed everything for the PS4 version with the PC being a poor mans port.Very, very lucrative if you can pull it off but they have you by the balls and will ruin you if you don't deliver when you say you will.

I don't blame them, it's tough for Indie studios, and we don't know what pressure (or assurances) Sony gave them.
