So whats the verdict? It's worryingly quiet on this thread, I'm not sure if thats because they are rubbish or just because you are all busy in the VR world!.

Is it worth the money in picking one up or do you regret it?!?!
I don't think there's many people on here with one at the moment. Ive invested nearly £600 in it so far and I dont regret it at all. It's a completely different experience to normal gaming and it all feels so new and fresh. I've not played any of the games so far and thought they were terrible, while some lack any real depth or longevity they still offer something original and fun, quite an achievement considering most launch titles are usually crap.

It's not for everyone though, if you suffer from nausea i could see it putting you off very quickly.

I had my pre order delivered on thursday, I almost cancelled as i thought it would be crap. I will admit the games look like early ps3 or xbox 360 but this aside, the psvr has exceeded all my expectations and I still cannot get my head around how immersive it is. Batman vr is awesome and every scene is more impressive than the last. I honestly think that vr will be a game changer and going back to playing on a tv screen seems quite boring now. The only problem is that we have been spoilt with crystal clear hd and 4k graphics.

It does need a good game that is a decent length as batman was too short, also within 3 laps, drive club made me feel as sick as a dog even into the next day, but I did try to push through to no avail. The barrel rolling on eve is awesome but does give me a sick feeling but this does seem to be getting less and less the more I play. All my mates that have had a go on mine have been blown away by it and are trying to find them in stock. I cannot wait to see the next gen of vr and what is in store, the little cinema app is a taste of things to come with the music videos and boxing matches and I think things like museum tours and such will be popular.

I think that is a demo of the upcoming resident evil game, not sure when it is out though.

I bought one from Tescos on Friday, arrived a day later.

Only played the Sony VR world and Kitchen but my god, it really is a game changer.

London Heist did it for me. One minute kneeling on the floor with a gun pointed at my head and the next sitting in a London pub, actually sitting there!!

I can see problems though. From the limited demos I've seen, fast moving racing games look to have quite low resolution. I also found the view through the headset limited, like you were wearing a pair of thick rimmed glasses that blocks out your peripheral vision.

It is the first generation of VR though.

Very impressed, very excited!

London Heist is what did it for me with the move controllers - the ability to interact with everything especially in the car (stereo, even the air vents)just takes gaming to another level. I loved watching a bike start to over take, open the door lean out and blow them away - feels like i'm sat there.

Its freaking awesome, got mine yesterday. Was fully expecting to be totally underwhelmed by the whole thing, boy was I wrong, it blew me away. Until Dawn was excellent, had me jumping out of my skin on a few occasions and really got the heart pumping in a truly immersive environment. Headset is fairly easy to set up, very comfortable, quite a few cables though. You also don't need a lot of room. Had the wife and daughter play, thier reactions where immense, the wife was screaming her head off, will be great fun at parties smile

Just get it, find one and buy it, you will totally love it

Was great, you can actually smoke the cigar, even feels like you are smoking it. Very wierd.

Hi all.
Just wondered if anyone could help regarding using wireless headphones with the VR headset.
I have the official PS4 wireless headphones and from what i've read i should be able to use these with the VR kit but i can't seem to find any information on the cable that's needed to get it working.
Now it's quite possible(and highly likely) that i'm being a complete divvy(not really up on this kind of thing)but any help offered would be appreciated.

Does anyone know if they are doing demos of these anywhere in London still? Did a quick Google but it only mentions dates for last week. Would really like to give it a try before deciding whether I want to drop £400 on it.

You can plug the standard headphone jack into the connection on the PSVR to work with the PS gold headset but this makes it no longer wireless, from what I understand as the 3D sound is processed in the breakout box you need to use the headset cabled.

I have the same issue but sort of gave up trying to find solution when I tried to put on the PSVR and the wireless headset and thought I might just use earbuds.

If you find a better solution I would love to know it.

Sorry but i'm not sure what you mean.confused
I have the PS4 wireless stereo headset 2.0 which i'm sure i've read somewhere can be plugged directly into the VR headset but i can't figure out how or if i'm missing a cable.I've had headphones a while now so if there was a cable in the box when new chances of finding it now are slim to none.
I don't mind using the earbuds that came with it but the kid's struggle to keep them in when playing.

Oops not sure what i've done but i meant to quote superstreek.
Told you i wasn't very good with this technology stuff.

Your headphones will have a 3.5mm in, and the VR headset has a 3.5mm in. You just need a fairly short 3.5mm cable.

You can use any headphones you want with VR really, in ear, over ear etc, they just need to be able to be plugged in to the 3.5mm.

Thanks for that.beer

Looks like it's a trip up the attic to see if I've kept the box the headphones came in.

I've had a chance to play mine a little now. Graphics are a bit PS3 but almost totally irrelevant once you're immersed in the game. Great, and sometimes slightly nauseating experience. Finished Rush of Blood (on easy). Surprised how much I enjoyed it - even the anticipation and slightly stomach churning feel of rolling downhill fast on the quicker coaster bits. I never play FPS shooter games, but that was a totally different experience. I'll certainly try some more. Only one that did make me feel slightly nauseous at times was the Drive demo. Nothing too bad. That was also probably the worst game for graphics quality. Got a couple more demos to try later.

The PS4 Pro (coming out next month) should address a lot of the negative issues around PSVR... It has the power to do better antialiasing which should help with the jaggies on edges, offer potentially more details and/or faster frame rates (120fps vs 90fps) which would help with nausea issues.

Of course, it can't make the display panel any higher-res so you are still stuck with 960x1080 (per eye) res - but the improved antialiasing or possibly supersampling (rendering at a higher resolution and then scaling down) can help minimise that drawback.

Also of course, it will offer >1080p resolutions on some games (for people with 4k TVs) and should potentially offer better frame rates and more graphical effects on 1080p gaming too.

Just a shame about the lack of UHD Blu Ray - major slip-up by Sony there.

Mine is waiting for me to try it, I'm away at the moment so it's distance rather than rabid fan boy comments that are keeping it in its box, didn't expect to get it out until the pro arrives next month anyway, still haven't ordered any games.
