World of Tanks (Vol 2)
Discussion
Just checked the AMX 13 90 stats, well on my way to a second MOE, 71 games played, 62% winrate, solo for about 58 of those, both times I've platooned my platoon mates have had absolutely torrid games. This French light is a beast though, very strong and influental. The "Micro Chat" gameplay is very fun, but considering it sees tier 9 minimum and tier X in 50% of games (at the least...!) I might as well just be in a proper Bat Chat, so I won't be keeping this thing.
I kept my 1390 as I liked it so much. Not sure I'll be keeping it when it goes up a tier and loses two shells from the magazine though.
One thing I am looking forward to is having derp gun on the Type 4 Heavy. I haven't played it that much for a variety of reasons, not least is the fact the gun can be very trollish and then has a long reload. With a derp it should hopefully be a lot more reliable.

In my infinite wisdom I decided to give the Light tank personal missions a go. I had completed the medium and tank destroyer ones which gave me 2 females which I decided to put in ELC AMX as it was a keeper.
Whilst waiting for the stars to align I researched the AMX12t. I certtainly don't recommend playing either without sixth sense. I came closest to success in the 12t by playing a more passive role which I think the tank it best suited. One game managed 3.6K spotting.Ended up completing the final LT-15 in a VK2801 which I didn't except but left me with the AMX1375 researched. However I am not sure I can be bothered to pursue the line. They are just so sluggish. I'm sure the Bat Chat is great but im ambivalent. The American lights lseems the one to play as the Frenchies seem a bit neglected.
Sorry about the rambling..

Sticking to my determination to only play real tanks, no paper ones, despite the frustration of putting a Cromwell up against assorted Tier 8 monstrosities. Cam Net, Binos and Fans: spot for Britain and then run round the back when you think it's safe.
Crusader is surprising good fun - firepower is woeful but the rate of fire is high enough to still upset the T-34s and KV-1s.

Trying to do LT15.2 last night :/
Almost lost the will to live.
Hope for the right map
Hope for few LT's
Hope no stupids on the enemy team yolo you
Hope your team has guns pointing towards enemy
Hope your team wins
I think after 2 hours I was close to committing (in game) suicide on some maps.

I've all but given up on that one, annoying as I stupidly put 4 female crew in the Comet that needs 5 crew so I don't get the bonuses for an all female crew.Almost lost the will to live.

Driving round in circles in the middle of Prokhorovka can get quite a lot of spotting damage but as you say, you need so many things to come together to get a high spotting score it's going to take an awfully long time, especially as I mostly play in platoons whilst drunk so sitting in a bush isn't really the play style I'm aiming for...
Yes, those LT-15 missions are a pain. All I can suggest is playing high tier LT(7,8) so there is more available HP to spot, bigger guns to deliver damage for you, and just hoping for the right opportunity. Don't forget your own damage done counts too, as does assisted damage through tracking. Platooning can help also, with people who are dedicated to only shooting your spots.
It does seem that there are more light tanks around at the moment though, not sure if that's my imagination, but it does end up often with competing for spotting damage.
It's surprising though how many maps it can be done on though, so don't only wait for prohk and malinovka. Good luck

It's not a sim, but I don't have any interest in machines which offer wholly impossible combinations of firepower, armour and mobility.
Interesting, I still can't understand why you're playing a game so strongly rooted in an idealised fantasy version of tank combat. When playing the "real life" tanks (presumably in the stock variants, like most of them saw service in real life), do you sometimes stop dead in the open, to simulate random mechanical failure? Tanks were not terribly reliable in the era depicted in this game, obviously.Either way, I hope I see you on the battlefield - are you on console or PC? I'd quite like to drive my JPE-100 over your Tiger

It sounds like you would have enjoyed the historical battle mode that was trialled a few years ago on PC. It ignored the battle tier of tanks, and instead tried to match up tanks on the basis of what they would have encountered in real battles. For example stock Tiger vs T-34 & Su76 etc. Unfortunately it wasn't a success -queue times were very long, partly due to people not wanting to play the lower powered vehicles. They have hinted they want to bring something similar back, but who knows if they will ever manage it.Also good on you for wanting to play the game your way, rather than being caught up into the perennial rat race to the next OP tank to be released.

Any suggestion that it was by luck more than judgement is entirely accurate, think I was at 2500 spotting when my track got blown off in front of some TDs, died at 3100 spotting but somehow scraped over the magical 4000...
