I'm sure the FV207 has had a sneaky penetration buff in the last update, I was knocking out some big damage shots against tanks that I really should have had no chance of penetrating previously. The slightly anemic penetration value is still listed the same, the annoyingly flat shell arc hasn't changed, but I was hitting tier 9 heavies for 1000 damage a shot at times. I also hit 3 T29s in a row, setting each of them on fire and none of them had fire extinguishers, suckers. Only another 85,000 to the FV3805, it doesn't seem like such a mountain to climb now. Conqueror Gun Carriage, ye shall be mine.

IS-4 line arriving Thursday morning, along with the South Coast map. I'll probably pick up a T-150 straight away, and catch doubles on it while I plough on through the British artillery line.

Are these missions effecting the general game play guys?
As like defblade I have noticed some strange comments about just needing this and that to complete mission.
Wish they had put these missions on games where only people playing missions where involved.
First few days when they were out it was a bit mental, lots of stupid st happening. Seems to be settling back down to the normal background level of donkeyness now (not that that is saying much), at least over the last 2 days it seems there was less yolo and 'i need to cap' type behaviour - perhaps I've just been lucky though. I suspect a lot of people have gotten to the platooning ones now so that's going to be it for quite a few people, plus the novelty wearing off.

Still the rewards for at least getting up to the platooning missions are pretty nice earners, so worth doing just for those.

Edit, also just realised I would have completed the HT15 mission earlier, in the tier 8 T34 - 4171 damage + 2495 damage blocked by armour + 1500hp lost = 8166 and you only need the total to be 8000. So yeah its doable, I wasn't even trying to do it it just happened trying to win the game.

SPGs seem to be going around acting like TDs these days.

I am halfway through the medium and heavy missions. Going to repurchase my hummle and try the spg ones.
There is a lot more artys standing their ground at the end and getting that last kill if they are loosing by shot-gunning the 1st enemy tank to tries to kill them.

I noticed something similar last night. The general level of noobery was back to near normal levels as far as I could see with a lot less mission yolo. Maybe I just got lucky.

What was interesting though was a wierd sort of acceptance of people capping for the win when there was still hit point damage to be farmed. There was a lot less "no cap kill all" and stop capping loser noob" type comments. It was more a sort of "oh he must need his cap mission" attitude.

On one occasion while a couple of our team were capping out I even saw a dead enemy saying in general chat "oh, are you going for your cap mission? smile".

These missions are really generating some interesting behaviors.

Well I played a further 10 games in a heavy and the mission still didn't update, I took to using HE shells at one point to damage modules hearing "critical hit" everytime but nothing

Oh well.

Im not sure which mission you are on, but you need to be careful with some of the module damage missions. Due to WG translation fails in some missions they actually mean destroy modules rather than damage.

Also if someone previously damaged the targets module and he repaired it, only for you to come along and damage it again, apparently that won't count for your mission.

Oh, and apparently track damage doesn't count.

Anyway, I have been using the KV2 and the KV1S derp to get that particular mission with little hassle.

The chap capping in a game last night was on the chat begging me (the only other player alive) not to kill the arty that was shelling him as he needed the cap... although he had been very grateful when I wiped out the tank that had almost got him seconds before :-)

As luck (for him) would have it my sodding AMX 40 was too slow to find it. Ho Hum, only 3000xp more XP needed till its AMX ELC time and I can flog this POS tank.

All that jazz

Oddly, I blew past that one for heavies without even noticing, but stalled at the same one for TDs for quite some time; done now, thankfully.

Well, I don't have 14500 free XP to splash around so not much choice... it is dog slow though, gun and armor aren't too bad but needs another 200bhp, perhaps I should write a NO2 mod :-)

I actually saw another last night but was too slow to get near him for some AMX40 revenge!

FWIW- I actually completed one of the missions with it (inadvertently)

An AMX40 vs AMX40 duel is a site to behold, it truly is. One game I was in a long time ago ended up with one on each team duking it out. Match ended in a draw, neither could do damage to the other and nor were either of them bright enough to drive to the enemy cap and just sit in it.

Was there less than 10 minutes left? Neither would have made it wink

To be honest if I remember rightly there could have been hours left and they wouldn't have figured it out. It's probably just as well there is a time limit, else they would likely still be there ramming each other. I hadn't played the AMX40 before then, and sure as st haven't played it since. There are rumours of a gun buff coming for the AMX40, which it sorely needs. ELC AMX is wonderful though, free XP well spent.

Gun buff! it isn't too bad in the MM but it needs a speed buff! Ironically downhill its very quick and able to handle the speed it just has a weedy motor :-)

FWIW I managed to finish top of my team in it last night (they where equally noob as me) but I have 3000+ games of Blitz experience to fall back on.

I did that mission - but I think you need to do both damage a module AND injure a crew member

Should be an easy job in a KV-2, SU-152 or almost any arty.

Were the modules destroyed (red) or just damaged (orange)? Pretty sure they have to be red but you don't seem to be having much luck with it. In true IT help-desk fashion have you tried cancelling the mission and restarting it?

Boxtank got a Halonen's Medal for killing 3 or more tanks 2 tiers above it. On the Swamp map too, the campiest of them all.

He actually nailed FIVE tier 8s : T34, Centurion 1, T32, Super Pershing and a FV203 scumbag to win the game.

Boxtank doesn't discriminate. He'll finish off any one. wink
