World of Tanks (Vol 2)
Discussion
I'll have a look and see if any of the Twitch Xbox streamers are playing it. I see you have the original style PC garage.
I completed the "do a ram kill in a medium tank" objective yesterday. My T-25 squished a mission reward Stug IV, ironically enough.
I'm not really trying very hard for these missions. I'll do them as and when, although I completed the final TD mission today for my first female crew member. I needed 4K damage and did over 5K with the tier 9 waffle.
Even once you've claimed the reward you can go back & redo missions if you missed the 2nd part, which is pretty good.

Stuck on the HT do 1000 damage and cap mission.
Was at 91 points the other day and someone murdered the last enemy tiger. Bah.
My next plan is to hide for the match, kill all bar 1 enemy left, and the rest of my own side....
I'm stuck on that one too but in fairness I haven't been trying seriously to get it. The IS-3 seems like a decent tank to try it with. It packs a good punch and is nippy enough to get to the flag. Was at 91 points the other day and someone murdered the last enemy tiger. Bah.

First attempt with IS-3 I did 4k damage and got to the cap. Unfortunately my pubbies wouldn't cap with me and we got outcapped with 10 secs left on our countdown.
Then last night I was derping around in the tier 5 KV1-S and got to the enemy cap. Unfortunately this time I had only done 941 damage.
It's going to be one of THOSE missions.
I do. I use Anfields Mod pack. It has everything I want in one handy package including damage dealt log (not damage received) and session stats amongst other things, and hasn't got a bunch of other superfluous stuff cluttering up my game.
If you are on the look out for a decent mod pack which included xvm then I do recommend Anfields.
If you are considering it, it includes:
XVM using global WN8 and WR
Damage dealt log
Session Stats
MiniMap mod with last known position, render range and view range indicators
Garage Carrousel with 2 rows
Indicator for what type of ammo hit you
Thats about it. It is fairly no frills which I like.

Just had a victory on Port in the FV207, mid-tier, ended the game with the most kills on my team and a high calibre medal. How does that even happen to an SPG on Port?! I've had some decent RNG, and some dumb enemies to shoot at today. I played probably 10 games with Z06George the other night, and didn't pen a single shot all night, then today I've been penetrating a much higher percentage of my shots. I even rebalanced a Waffle for about 1450 damage when I hit his little turret roof. I wish we had a chat window so I could have typed "L2P", sending that in a PM seems a bit much.
There are some pretty generous XP bonuses on the Xbox this weekend, I'm hoping to have my FV3805 researched and purchased before midnight, I'll be taking advantage of the bonuses and using them to work towards the 7.2" gun.

I've played artillery a few times recently and I really can't see the appeal of it. It requires very little skill & it's totally about RNG. The worst part is that if your team are a bunch of 45% turds you have zero chance of carrying the game. I suppose they have that in common with light tanks too. There are some pretty generous XP bonuses on the Xbox this weekend, I'm hoping to have my FV3805 researched and purchased before midnight, I'll be taking advantage of the bonuses and using them to work towards the 7.2" gun.

I enjoy it. Breaking deadlocks, digging enemies out of cover, counter-battery, leading a target perfectly and nailing them when they're going full speed etc. Everyone hates arty when it hits them, no one wants to thank the friendly arty, it's a thankless task but a good arty player can be instrumental to victory. That said, I do get quite a lot of "Good Shot" comms when I'm supporting a push and clearing a path for my team. There is definitely a lot of RNG in it, but skill also - RNG couldn't explain why some bad arty players can hover in the 40%s after several thousand games, while some can get into the high 50s. Leading shots, pre-aiming at important areas, being able to predict the flow of battle, hitting key targets rather than easy tagets etc. Bad players seem to flap around, picking away at this and that, missing constantly, the best arty players seem to know where the enemy will be before the enemy even knows it's going there, they seem to cheat the RNG and rarely miss etc.
I do play all sorts of tanks, SPGs are my second least-played class.
I haven't played much arty the last couple of years and it's my least played class. But I've been working through the arty specific missions with the Lefehurur and GW Panther, so it's all coming back to me now. I think you're right about leading shots, pre-aiming & being able to predict the flow of battle, but I still say it's the easiest class to play. I used to play it as a change of pace more than anything, as it's quite different from the other vehicles.
I've just completed one where I had to inflict 1,000 damage to heavy tanks and for the second part, kill one of them. I did this with the GW on Ruinberg, so not exactly arty friendly. I hit both enemy T29s in the city, killing one, wrecked a KV-85 and flattening an enemy arty as a bonus. I hardly moved out of the cap all game, finished top for damage (despite our A-44 getting a Top Gun) and the crew are still only 80% trained and don't have any skills.
I had a tier 7 game earlier with the tier 5 Lefehurur where I did over 1300 damage & got 2 kills. It was down to just me and a Challenger (new British tier 7 TD) at the end. I was actually face hugging an IS at one point, but he rather stupidly chose to kill me instead of the Challenger on 10 health to his side. Long story short, the Challenger went on to get a Radley Walter's for 8 kills and Invader, High Calibre, Top Gun, Defender. Quite a game that was. I stayed on to the end to watch it.
Edit: He posted the game from his perspective. I thought he might.

Whats with MM at the moment, I cant get a game with a win rate over 45%.
With most being around 35%
Best to try and ignore it imho and just roll with it. Win rates will be through the toilet as people are throwing games to try and complete the missions. With most being around 35%
I have been playing my T34 premium tank a lot recently due to the dire matches, it ensures I actually make money.

That win chance prediction is the most misleading part of XVM and IMO the least helpful. My mod pack has it turned off by default and I have never turned it back on, and I have not missed it at all. With most being around 35%
I can still see the relative skill levels of all the players and it is easy to make up my own mind on how difficult the battle is likely to be based on what I see.
Do yourself a favour and turn off that prediction nonsense and use your own common sense. You will have a much more enjoyable experience even in the enevitable losses.
