It's...odd. And more than a bit st. It's a flanker, pure and simple. Needs a spotter, too. You keep an eye on spotted targets until their distracted, then pull out and clip them for 400 odd.

Rinse and repeat.

Very limited play style, very acquired taste, very vulnerable to anything, very horrible, very glad to be done with it.

So this happened the other day:
at our lowest point there were just 4 of us left vs 11 enemies.

My platoon ended up responsible for 14 out of 15 kills.

I re-rolled on a EU server (left my full of rare premiums account on RU ) last year and have a couple tier Xs now.
My stats are pretty decent, but believe it or not, this is the first time I got a crucial contribution across any of my accounts, so very, very pleased!

P.S. if anybody wants to add me to friends or even join my clan, just give me a shout.

I am just getting into leading strongholds battles and for those who have not done any proper competitive game modes yet, I have to tell you, it opens up a whole new dimension to the game.

There is no better feeling than winning against an all blue-purple clan with your motley orange-green crew in sub-optimal tanks, through keeping your cool and working together as one.

Haha, love it!
I was shocked to find out that I am the worst offender, seeing as I always tell my platoon-mates off for knocking trees over.

I made a little table (yes I am bored).

I must say I enjoy this game much more now that I regularly play as a platoon, especially as I tend to play tanks that work well in support rolls. For instance our usual high tier platoon is made up of a Centurion 7/1, a T95 and a CGC. I trail the 7/1 in my T95 to take on the bigger tanks that it's gun struggles with, then anything that causes us serious issues gets vaporized by the CGC. At first it looks like an oddball platoon but it actually works out for us rather well!

Shocker last night. 30 games - 30%.
Mostly played arty. Mostly teams dead within first 2 minutes.
Can't remember ever having such a bad run on one session.
Willing to accept responsibility if I f*** up but would normally like the game to last long enough to allow me to... when the game actually lasted longer than a couple of minutes ended up with most kills/damage but still losing.
Night off arty tonight apart from doubles.
Sometimes the people you play against are really stupid and you fill your boots. Last night I was the boot full of stupid.

Hey! Looks like I'm the greenest driver smile
Actually, I mainly play TDs and try not to knock trees over too much as it's a bit of a give-away as to where you're hiding.

Not that I'm playing WoTs at all at the moment - motorbike crash = broken left wrist = cast over WSAD fingers frown

Have had the British TD AT-15 for a little while but haven't played it much. Having played a couple of games in it today, I have just reminded myself why. Still completely stock, as I am not running a premium account and the grind is a bit slow, but 3 penetrations from 22 hits is complete head in hands territory.

It's weird what you can get that with. I have one with the M3 Lee. laugh

How do you find the Baguette tank? I hear it's pretty good.

Nice use of the terrain there and a great defence. You might want to be careful with some of those mods though. Showing the direction of enemy guns on the mini map is questionable to say the least. Although Wargaming EU are notoriously useless, there's no knowing how long that will remain the case.

All your tanks in every tier are always naff.

You will find a nemesis tank that you fear, you will grind for this tank.

When you get it, you will find it is slow, has paper tracks and every shell you fire bounces.

Welcome to WOT.

To start I would suggest playing all the nations. This will get you started on each of the tech trees. After a while you may wish to concentrate on one or two, but until you've played them and got a feel for which nations you prefer, you may as well play them all.

It's easy to grind the early tiers and level up as not much XP is required to do so. Be wary of trying to level to later tiers too quickly though, as the stock starter tank at most tiers is pretty dire until you add better guns/turrets etc, and you will still get your arse kicked. Take time in the lower tiers to learn the maps, develop your tactics and basically just learn the game, as all of this will stand you in good stead when you finally progress up the ladder.

Also, don't always be too hasty to sell a tank once you have researched the next one. If you have found a tank you enjoy playing, it is probably worth keeping in the garage. I have several tier X tanks, and regularly play at levels 7 and 8, but I still have lower tier tanks in my garage that I still enjoy playing for a change of pace, or when I have hit a costly losing streak in the higher tiers.

Most of all, have fun.

The French tier 5 premium artillery is coming to the Xbox on a limted time offer next week for 2800 gold. I may pick one up, I'm undecided. Some people on the Xbox forum think it's going to be the great rebalancer at tier 5, but I'm not so sure. Further to that, I get my artillery thrills in the CGC, knocking 2000+ damage lumps off the enemy. We shall see.

Myself and my Chi-Ri playing mate got the autoloaders last night, 3 round drum, 1 second between shots and an 8 second reload with a rammer and BIA. The burst damage output is impressive, particularly when doing an auto-aim driveby on an M6A2E1, but it's really the only thing the Chi-Ri has going for it, it's deeply unimpressive in every other way. Bring on the STA-1!

I hear you, though it's a modpack by one of the Virtus.pro players (wot league finalists adn ex champions).
It's called modpack by Jove, it's somehting I picked up during my time on RU. If they ban me for it, they will also have to ban everyone in Russia smile

As you have discovered, a new tank with an inexperienced crew doesn't have the view range/accuracy/gun loading time/camo skills of a more experienced tank/player, leading to the frustration of being blown up on a regular basis by an unseen assassin. This does still actually happen to experienced players, but there are skills that you can acquire to help offset the problem. Getting your commander to learn 6th sense will at least let you know when you have been spotted, even if you can't see who is spotting you. Other skills you can train help with other aspects of the game.

Obviously only you will know if you can stick at it long enough to acquire some of those skills, but it's not a game you can jump in to and be top dog straight away without learning about some of the nuances of playing the game.
