There's a St Patricks Day gift today - 1 day of free premium account. To get it you have to log in between 6am today and 6am tomorrow CET. Of course it starts counting that day down from the time you log in, but a free day is a free day none the less.

With regards to kill stealing it's got to just be a case of kill the enemy as efficiently as possible and move on, which I'm sure it is for most people. Sometimes you will get kills, sometimes you wont. The xp benefit for getting a kill is so low, relative to the xp you give up by not doing damage sooner, that it's just not worth it in any way to wait for the kill.

Annoying though when someone, like the WZ111 in Cirian75's post above, deliberately holds back to get that kill causing his team to take more damage in the meantime. I'll bet there was a personal mission behind it somewhere.

He'd have learnt how to do that for the WZ-111 grind itself. There was a hell of a lot of obvious kill stealing during that.

The personal missions have been a disaster from a player behaviour point of view as well. What was partially intended as an educational tool to improve play has had exactly the opposite effect as people do the stupidest things to complete conflicting missions.

I stopped playing the personal missions after two weeks

It was wreaking my games.

I've been on and off them, IMO many of them require T8, 9 or 10 to complete due to the numbers required, I only have 5 and 6 really but figured I'd try it as remaining unseen would be a handy skill to master :-)

To me it seems like the light tank missions are pretty hard compared to some of the others?

I've scrapped going for them, the need to platoon stopped me because I'm an unsociable git smile

I completed the medium and TD ones, but I can't be arsed to do any more right now. The personal and grind-for-a-tank missions are counter productive for Wargaming in the end. You just become so tired of the useless idiots, RNG, arty and other annoyances that you can't take it any more.

I notice all the regular Twitch streamers are playing World of Warships all the time now. They must be heartily sick of World Of Tanks after all the e-peen driven personal mission grinding they've been doing recently.

I can't be long until WoWS goes into open beta. It's pretty much all there game wise, as far as I can see. The closed beta is more about server load testing than anything. They just need to add a couple more countries (Britain and Germany ideally) and ship lines (US battleships, Jap carriers) before it's ready to go live. I think they're going to have the Soviet fleet next though, which apparently even the usually rabid ultra-nationalist Russians find a bit of a joke. It's developed in St Petersburg, so there you go.

When it does go live, your gold and free XP will be transferable between all 3 of their games, because it's linked to your account. There's actually no 'gold ammo' in WoWS, so that'll cut out a major source of whining.

It will be interesting to see if WoWS goes down any route of premium equipment / consumables or not. Ammo isn't limited as far as I could tell, so i suppose premium ammo doesn't really fit. It would be nice to think they had learnt their lesson from WoT, but I'm not so sure.

It would be best if the premium accounts just did the extra cash / xp thing, or allowed more ship slots / discounts on decorative items (can you even have different flags and such?).

I do slightly wonder about aircraft carriers - I watched a few different WoWS streams over the weekend and they all seemed to be complaining about them / equating them to Arty in tanks. I suppose part of the Beta is to sort out balancing though so perhaps this can be looked at - it seemed to be a problem of torpedo bombers launching too many torpedos at a range where you can't dodge them.

Cannot understand the kill stealing side of it, sometimes its obvious that your teammate is capable in killing the opponent however sometimes it isn't, happens often 2 temamates vs 1 in a close range battle, one of the 2 gets shot.
What is the other teamate supposed to do ? Wait to see if his tank has been disabled ? or can he reload in time ?
If you finish the opponent off some shall shout it was a steal and if you do not and your teammate is killed you get called most prob a noob, so cannot win either way.

All that jazz

There's definitely no gold ammo in it at the moment at least.

There are certainly balancing issues they need to address, but that's inevitable. I'm only up to tier 2, so I've not come across many aircraft carriers yet. It seems they generally lurk at the edge of the map like arty, but they are quick and can dodge a torpedo spread while wrecking you with their aircraft.

There's no ship camouflage or flag options at the moment.

So far the only use of gold is to buy harbour space, demount equipment without losing it when you sell a ship and transferring a captain without penalty. So like WoT really.

fks sake, this game is fking taking the piss tonight. Japanese tanks definitely suffer from "Leopard 1 syndrome", whereby everyone knows that they've got no armour, so they are priority targets for retards who just shoot the easy targets rather than the important ones.

It really speaks volumes about the calibre of player that you're up against when you encounter Borsigs and T28 Prototypes spamming APCR at STA-1s though. Their guns are pretty much auto-pen on the STA even with standard ammo, you fking morons.

Conversely you get people seeing a waffle and automatically firing HE at it. Yeah, you also have to hit the gun shield or the tracks will likely just eat it.

Last couple of hours of freebie premium account this morning, so I thought I'd try and get in a couple of important doubles. 5 battles, 5 losses, and then the 24 hours of premium expired. Oh dear!

Celebration time, I have reached the AMX 12 T, whoop whoop! I enjoyed the ELC AMX and I can see why it has a cult following of dedicated players, though I actually found that due to it's poor radio and view range, I did better in it when using it as a low-profile TD. I never really developed that jousting style you see the best ELC players using, but in nearly every match I played I was finishing top 5 for damage and top 3 overall for XP, so I don't think I was too bad.

The AMX 12 T is much more my style, mainly because of the turret, but the autoloader is a fun novelty too. It's not the most agile of tanks, but it is fun to play and looks extremely cool. Still, it can be extremely frustrating on a st World of Corridors map like Sacred Valley, when you're in a tier 6 light tank facing down with E-75s because the rest of your team is fking st and what can you do.

I also purchased another Hetzer, having not last owned one some 5500 games ago, and I've been running a two man Hetz squad with a mate, great fun. I did consider running the derp gun, but we both agreed that the tactical flexibility of the 75mm was preferable, although a derp Hetzer makes a great wrecking ball on certain maps. However, the 75mm seems to be the way forward - no one expects the 3 second reload, good pen and good alpha for the tier.

Failing hard with the AMX 13 90 at the moment. For the first 50 or so games I was running at about 60% WR but now.....well, I can't actually remember when I last won a game and my WR has crashed to 45% after about 100 games played.. Bots do better FFS! paperbag

I am not the best light tank driver I freely admit, but I would like to think I can play them better than a bot!

Because of the epic fail I have been stuck on light tank mission 15 seemingly forever, which is to do 4000 spotting or tracking damage. This is especially frustrating as it is the last mission I need to complete to unlock the second set for the T28 Concept grumpy

So does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to nail this elusive and frustrating mission given the fact that I am failing as hard as it is possible to do so?

I know the AMX 13 90 is probably not the best light tank for that mission but it is my only tier 8 LT.

The only other LTs I own are the ELC AMX (63% WR) and the Luchs (70% WR).

I would guess it would be easier in a higher tier light, such as your amx, due to the high damage requirement. Getting 4k damage assistance in a tier 7 game in say an ELC would be possible, but pretty tough. You don't just need spotting damage - it's assistance so if you track lots of things and let other people shoot them that counts too I believe

That LT15 mission though is causing a lot of complaints in the forums too. The problem is twofold - not so many maps now support the passive spotting approach, and with so many lights around you are often sharing the spotting damage too. I wouldn't be surprised to see the damage level dropped in the future when they revise the missions.

As it is just got to hope for a good spotting map to crop up (Prok / Fiery salient / Malinovka) and then head straight to the best spotting location and hope your team support you. Probably best in platoon with two tier x that will shoot only your spots perhaps.

I've just had two Mastery 1st Class games in the AMX 12 t in a row, in the second one I took a high calibre medal, this is light tank gameplay hehe

I love this 12 t, for all it's flaws, it's a brilliant little tank to play. If it had a higher ammo capacity and wasn't quite so sluggish, it would be an absolute monster.

Back into the game after trying World of Warplanes.

Slight rage moment today, knob crashed into my Dickermax stopping a kill shot so killed him. He was a tomato but felt bad as I don't normally react like that.

Im... Still trying to ram something to death with my HT's. Is it me or did someone put a gun on these things for a reason? Might need a faster(?) HT..

Have the scout 2 enemy LT misssion up too. Except I am having far too much fun in the ELC playing sniper assasin scoring damage than scouting....

Up to the first platoon task on MT which are always a pain, and last platoon task on TD which should be easier. Then I might get the isu-152 for the higehr damage vs the 100.
