Finally succeeded at LT-10 mission, threw Bino's on the ELC and got Sand River so just kept peeking over the ridges South West and spotting for my Arty and HT's and did it with ease... sigh- view range was the key.
Amusingly also got "reported" for some unknown reason, I only fired twice all game for a couple of kills at the end, didn't block anyone, didn't say anything in chat but half way through one of my team chirps up with "All report ELC please" (I was the only one) and two people said they would- WTF?
That said- no effect from it so probably BS, but why would anyone report unless F'ing'n'Jeff'ing in chat or TK'ing? Bemused...
WRT- The clan, I have some platoon missions to try now, generally play Mon-Tue nights if anyone is interested in helping out, I'm happy to reciprocate obviously.

That would make sense I suppose. I've found the game abit easier and more understandable wince I added XVM and got used to the way spotting works.

My full health T30 was sat zoomed in and patiently waiting for a Jagdpanzer E100 on about 70 health to be lit, when suddenly 2 hits and I'm dead without 6th sense going off. Then I realise that the T28 Prot on my team, who had been over to my right had circled round behind and fired a shot off using me as cover. Every now and then you get a good natured crowd. But not often.
Anyhow - just off to give ebola to some Martian clicker gold noob credit card f***tards.
I think it's just gotten to the point now, on the PC at least, where people just rage for the sake of it. Dead? Rage. Team dead? Rage. Winning? Rage.
Last night I had a belting game in my E100, on the live oaks map. Held the town almost singlehandedly, simultaneously duelling another E100 and T110E4, before an IS7 replaced the dead E4 in the fight. Meanwhile the rest of the team are slowly dying. End up being the last alive, having won the town and rushed E100 style back to our base to try and defend against the hordes. Finally go down under the weight of 3 arties and swamped by enemies, but with 5.5k damage dealt, 6k blocked, 4 kills etc. Enemy team even gave a gg E100 which was nice. The end comment from my team? Moron E100
There are good people too though - after one game had a nice chat with a fellow smurf on the enemy team who played really well to win the game, just good banter and talk about the good match we had. It's just they are far outweighed by the asshats.

It's an odd one - back in the day when it was premium ammo only for gold I could sort of see why some people would complain about it. Pay to win isn't really a good model, after all. But now its available for credits it's a bit pointless to complain. What is the game's fascination with crying about people using gold ammo?

Can be very tiresome when in a heavily armoured tank all you get fired at you is prem ammo, but that's just the state of the game. It's funny when people use it regardless, and then a good tool to wind people up (batchats really don't like it when they get called for using heat it seems
). I do wonder how many people that complain about it use it themselves too.At the end of the day it's the fault of the devs, not the players, just like Arty. So abusing people in game for it is somewhat missing the target.

because I tried using gold with the 152 cannon and after bouncing 3 shots in a row (the lack of accuracy did not allow me to target weakspots) against the most armourless of tanks I just went back to the comparative reliability of HE.
I find HE is great fun at tier 4 and below, but anything higher and it's way way too unpredictable to use. I only carry a couple of rounds in each tank, to finish off very low health targets from range, or to reset a cap. I don't even fire it at arty these days.
The only gun on the SU-152 worth a damn is the stock derp. HE is OK if you know you're going to penetrate because it's a soft target, but pathetic low rolls don't cut it when you have an 18 second reload (or whatever it is). For reliable damage, HEAT is the only way to go. Don't even bother carrying AP, it's utterly useless.
The ISU-152 is the same, until you get the BL-10 gun.

Beati sums it up really well. 152 or nothing on the SU.The thing to remember about HEAT though is it isn't that effective on sloped surfaces, and particularly ineffective on spaced armour. That might explain the few times it failed for you isee. Always try to aim it (I know that's relative at any reasonable distance with the 152mm) to hit as flat a surface as possible, and especially don't shoot at tracks with it.
HE can be a reliable source of damage, albeit low dpm wise, against bunkered in targets though, and always has the chance of knocking out crew and modules. I forget how much I used in the SU but I think I went 50/50 with the HEAT / HE ammo. AP only works on low tier targets, and even then only sometimes, so its a real risk to use it.

250 pen and 700 damage at tier 7 is ridiculous. You get trolled occasionally but that's HEAT mechanics and spaced armour/tracks for you. Try to aim at flat surfaces. Saying that 250mm HEAT goes through the front of most things you face no problem. Then they just explode.
I might even re-buy it.

On the pc game I think there are some players who cannot take it that someone else has better stats, they revert to being vindictive and there are plenty of them about in the game, all one has to do is watch the chat that goes on during the game.
No stats shown in game, but they can be looked up on the Xbox WOT website, there are plugins for Google Chrome that can show WN8 on official website too. No XVM-related trolling here.^^^ That pisses me right off.

Speaking of which, the latest Jingles video features some horrendous XVM trolling from three idiots who were dedicated trolls, 1000 battles a piece, and a combined WN8 score of 140 for their squad. That's 140 between three of them! It's amazing they hadn't been permabanned, as they are clearly career trolls.

Then again, some of the atrocious team kills, unicums getting their health depleted deliberately by their own team etc, I'm not sure that the PC benefits from it either. There was another Jingles vid recently of a player in an E-75, going on a tear and about to clean the game up, when a T28 on his team shot him in the rear and TK'd him, for no apparent reason whatsoever. The game was eventually won, but what a fking stter for the E-75 driver.
