I also run the 122mm with a lot of success. The alpha is brutal but so is the reload. I have also run the 100mm successfully too as it still packs a decent punch but quicker reload and better handling do count for something.

However, the 122mm is what makes the SU100 special and is the most fun. I have replaced the fire extinguisher with combat rations to improve the overall handling and have the reload down to just under 13 seconds which is fine.
Either guns are good I found too. I got a Top Gun the first time I unlocked the 100m gun, but with the 122mm it is a bit of a beast. This game is still the most XP I've had with any tank:

I actually went back to using the 100mm gun after this, so I could get used to the second TD line - lower alpha, but more accuracy and faster reload.

am 75k away from unlocking the E100. Am not enjoying the E-75 as much as expected (which is strange as teh tiger 2 is one of my all time faves) and my stats back that up too... How are you finding the E-100 on a scale of 1-10?
I can't answer for PanzerCommander, but for me the E100 would be an easy 10. It might just be a case of good match, but I really get on with it. Very much a case of "this one goes up to 11".

Like any big armour at the moment it can be difficult in open maps with Arty, but any city style map and it's in heaven. It did take a while to get used to after the E75 though (which I also really rate), but boy when you get it down there are few more enjoyable tanks for solo play at tier 10 I think.

I didn't hear anything back last night, but haven't been able to check my mails today from work (we have a great system here - can spend all day talking about tanks online but can't access my emails irked). Fingers crossed there's an invite waiting when I get home.

Well good luck. It's not a bad game actually, now I've got more used to it.

still no news on the WOWS Beta, but oh well. They will just have to do without my ace testing abilities. If the game sucks now, this is why. readit

On the plus side it did allow me to get some tanks in, and thanks to Kozzy's help I managed to get the last SPG platoon mission done. Kozzy - thanks man. I'm not sure if you managed to stick around for the end of the battle, but we won smile. Was getting worried, I was stuck on 1700 or so damage and needed to get 2k, and the enemy just kept dying before my shells hit. Luckily a wild STA-1 on full health decided to aggressively camp in front of my SPG, one shotgun and 1450 hp later mission achieved woohoo

edit - also someone was asking about the E100. Its like this - just massive fun:

They'll likely allow more and more people in as they tweak the game, they'll need to start testing server loads and MM and for that they'll need a bigger pool of available player so don't panic.
I've just got my Generals invite after a month.

Looks like the PC version is losing some premiums

http://worldoftanks.com/en/news/pc-browser/31/prem...

While this won't affect the Xbox for a long time, it will one day happen to us too, more than likely. Good thing I've got a TOGII, which is always fun to play. I might play it later on tonight, now that I'm reminded I have one. The FCM36 is a purple stet pedder if every there was one - a tier 3 TD with 400m base view range that puts holes in KV-1s for fun. The T14 is deeply meh and the Panther M/10 is from what I can tell, a bit of a heap, and consequently the only one of the 4 I don't own.

There is a 30% off sale on this week, I'm tempted to pick up an AT-15A, but I just can't bring myself to do it, given how fking dreadful it is without the pref MM and hitpoint buff. Who signed off on a 650hp TD at tier 7, with a 17lber gun to fight tier 9s? The hitpoint decision is even more baffling given that it's an armour-reliant TD, meant to survive some hits, whereas the E-25 only has 30hp less but is vastly smaller, faster and stealthier.

I'm surprised it's taken them so long to remove the FCM36. I guess the TD view range nerf kinda meant they had to.

The AT15A got a buff fairly recently on the PC. It now has 1050 health and no longer sees tier 9s.

I know, I have been lobbying the WG staff on the Xbox forum for some time to give it parity with the buffed PC version. My argument is that for whatever it would cost them to make the adjustment to the stats (I'm no game developer, but it can't be more than an hours work, plus a week in super test to make sure it hasn't bugged), they'd more than make it back as there are a lot of players waiting to get an AT15A, but not buying it until it gets buffed. It's easily the rarest premium on the Xbox, I hardly ever see them on the field, I see more Panther M/10s and they are openly and widely regarded as st.

They can't even make the argument that it could make the AT15A OP - it's still a TD with easily exploitable flaws, not to mention that the other tier 7 premium TDs are not exactly wanting in terms of performance, the E-25 is a hell of a weapon in the right hands, and the SU-122-44 is on par with a fully upgraded tier 7 TD, in fact it's probably still the best TD at tier 7, premium or not.

anyone got any advice. Playing through the German trees (on the iPhone) and really struggling to even win a game at the moment. Every time I play its like we have 3 tanks (out of 7) blown up before we have even hit the enemy. Also I keep seem to be spotted form miles away when I cant see anyone!

I assume your playing Blitz then? Which "branch" are you following?

Blitz is abit different to the PC game, you need the 7 to stay together ideally, or at least be in position to fire on each others targets, if you split into 2's and 3's you don't have enough firepower to fight anything off really.

Spotting relies on anyone being within range who can report your position to anyone else on their team, so you cannot stay in any open position. Unlike the PC game where radio range impacts this on blitz if you are spotted you are spotted.
Tanks or TD's can camp at the back of the map and dominate if you don't hug cover.

Pay attention to which gun you mount, some appear to be "better" actually have lower penetration/shot effectiveness (which IMO is more important than damage) and target tanks and parts of tanks you can penetrate.

Use the 5second start clock to put a chat message out to "stay together" or "All up up the hill" (as applicable) generally you get a good response to that if you are high tier in the battle and it can make a big impact on the outcome.

If you like post your in game name and platoon with someone who can show you the ropes/help- I'd be happy to- "Scubadude_1"

My advice would be to play the full game, whether on PC or Xbox, you won't believe what you've been missing.

I have played the full version on PC a few years ago. Don't have an egg box or a PC so can't play full game. Sorry.

Cheers buddy will try that! I have been trying the flanking movement but that's probably why I'm getting smashed.

My name is chuntington101. Not part of any platoon.

What an absolutely snorter little night on WOT. Platooned up with my buddy Rich, hammering the IS-3s big time. I have the BL-9, he only has the D-25T, but still seems to do very well despite the handicap. Two Brothers in Arms medals each tonight, and we both got our Ace Tankers in the IS-3 too, I was particularly pleased with this as I'm only about 7000xp away from unlocking the IS-8, and the IS-3 will be going, though it has been a very good, if slightly map-dependent tank.

......WOWS update....Check it owwwt:

A Japanese Kongo class Battleship. This thing is just a tier 5. It gets a little spotter floatplane you can send off when you like. cool

It's best to keep engagements as long range as possible. They're basically moving artillery duals where you often have to lead the target several ship lengths in order to hit them. It takes about 30 seconds to reload, so it pays to be accurate.

Destroyers are more fun perhaps. You have to use the islands or your smokescreen as cover before firing off a salvo of torpedoes at your target. American destroyers have fairly decent guns, but their torpedoes only go 5 Km. The guns on Japanese destroyers are terrible, but their torpedoes go further - 7 Km.

Cruisers are like big destroyers - no armour, but quick with rapid firing guns and torpedoes on many of them. I find they're the hardest class to play, as I tend to be too aggressive with them and get into trouble. They're really anti-aircraft and main gun support ships for the battleships. I just need to remember that.

Actually I am still waiting for a reply to my application but what I have seen so far looks good.
