World of Tanks (Vol 2)
Discussion
Had an interesting game in the T29 today. 37% win rate and after 5 minutes we were down to 3 - 8.
At this point things did not look good. The T29 has started being my favourite T7 and the three of us started making progress. Key at this point is that we had 3 tier 7's on each side with mainly 6's and possibly a few 5's.
Roll forward a little and it is down to me and one more who was capping vs 4. 3 went to cap our base and a Kv2 defended their base. Kv2 beat our capper. Incredibly I was able to keep hull down and more surpisingly the 3 on our cap attacked individually., boom, boom, boom.
So, me vs kv2 derp and I had 350 health. He went to cap and despite hitting me once I got him for my 9th kill of the game and loads of medals.
Tempted to keep it as it really must be the best tier 7.

Came down to a clutch of 1v 4/5/6 can't remember, also stupidly got baited by the enemy arty who went for the draw - was lucky however i found him and ruined his day.

After a few bad days on the Euro servers, I ditch WOT euro and went to a fat yank server and started again.
DONT DO IT!!!!!1, they are even worse. So came back to the euro server and won 15 games in a row
Have decided not to bother with the XMV mod and just use the 30x sights.
Just cant suffer looking at the 28% win chance game after game.

I on't have the win chance enabled as it only promotes bad gameplay. if the odds are too lo you sort of give up and YOLO to death. if the odds are great you think it will be a rolfstomp and YOLO to death...DONT DO IT!!!!!1, they are even worse. I can sympathise entirely with you guys comments. I've never encountered a game that can be so fun and engrossing and yet at the same time utterly infuriating as WOT. It just seems set up to wind you up:
RNG applied to virtually everything, meaning even if you do everything right you can still get screwed over;
RNG applied to virtually everything, meaning that even when your opponent does everything wrong, they can still get ridiculously lucky;
Team building is weak - it might get it's internal 'score' broadly right but the make up within that can be completely one sided;
There are few maps suited to all classes, so sometimes you get the wrong map for your class - Arty on Himmelsdorf for example;
Now it can work both ways, sometimes the chips fall in your favour, but no one remembers these as it's just what should happen. You win because you play well, you lose because WOT screwed you over. It's really hard not to feel like that when the list above exists so brazenly.
Warships is fun, but still closed beta so not an option as an alternative really and to be honest as stated the longevity of it might not be great. For playing a few games now and then it would be fine, but currently there are mods being developed for it that remove a lot of the skill (or at least give people the bad taste feeling of "I lost because I was screwed over"..). If WG do the smart thing and now take a hardline on mods then the game can be saved - whether they have the ability or willingness to..well who knows.
If you wanted a complete change of pace, Cities Skyline is meant to be very good.

how is the patch looking? Is this the one with new physics?
No not yet. I'm not sure what patch will bring those, but not imminent as far as I can gather. Patch seemed pretty stable last night, brings a new map (which looks cool), new French tanks and a couple of view range nerfs to SPG's. There was some background game engine stuff too, but that's all really.
I only played a few games, didn't notice the RNG reduction that Cirian75 mentions - but then I wasn't tearing my hair out at freaky misses as I have been last few times I've played so probably that's why

That really sums it up. I've played WoT since beta. Recently there was a time when I was hardly playing it, purely because of the frustrations you highlight. Having seen footage of early focus tests of Armoured Warfare, all I can say is I can't wait until that is released, as it seems to address the problems that are so evident in WoT.RNG applied to virtually everything, meaning even if you do everything right you can still get screwed over;
