Presumably if you can hit an enemy tank while doing that, you'll deal insane amounts of damage? It would be ram damage, with the weight of the tank put through a 200kmph multiplier?

Also, I've unlocked the SU-152 and put the Object 236 package on (already researched on previous tank, only needed purchasing) and put 20,000xp on the tank already this afternoon, to unlock the 122mm gun, which I won't be bothering with on this tank. I did have an absolute belter of a shot earlier though, penetrating the front of another SU-152 with full health with an HE shell, one-shotting him. I also hit the side of a Pershing earlier, penetrating and dealing 990 damage. st the bed, this is a derp gun and a half. st accuracy and reload though!

Slightly off thread question if I may - my son has been pestering me to allow him to play this for a bit - he's 11 turning 12 in a short while and reasonably sensible. Would you let him - am I being too much of a prude in stalling him so far? I've no doubt he'd be pretty good and obliterate me if he was ever on the other team - this is more about the appropriateness of the game for his age (with the language filter firmly ON!)

Honest views appreciated.

Thanks

What isn't appropriate about this game? You can't even see the loaders getting blown to bits in open topped tanks, and unlike in real life, when a tank explodes it doesn't rain body parts around as the debris falls.

I don't know what goes on in the PC chat, but there certainly seems to be less foul-mouthed kids on WOT360 than you get on say, COD for example. Then again, you've said you're putting the language filter on, but I must ask, what is it you think your child will hear in WOT that he doesn't hear (and probably even use himself) at school on a daily basis? I know by the time I was starting high school at 11, there wasn't much in the way of profanity I hadn't heard or used myself.

sleepzy it's polygons vs polygons with no blood, it's as tame as it get if you don't delve into the actual realities of sitting in a steel box penetrated by an incendiary device.

He'll hear a lot worse at school, thats for sure.

Besides WoT is a lot less bloodthirsty than shot gunning a zombie in the face in some FPS.

You can always turn chat off completely, too, if its the other players you are worried about. Its in the options, came in a patch or two back.

This is probably the best option.

Some players can be quite vile and while I ignore (most of the time) a 12 year old may not like it much.

Thanks all - FWIW you have confirmed what I already knew really (that I am an old prude at heart) and agree with what you all say re hearing worse at school and lack of gore - sometimes just good to get a 2nd opinion smile

If you're playing on the PC, take him on a training room server and show him the ropes. It will mean less frustration for other players, as he won't rush around shooting anything that moves and being a liability, and having more success in battle will help him stick at it.

I'm having a good night, just got my Mastery Class 1 in SU-152, and I've had 2 class 2s with the Dicker Max today.

I've been making my daughter wait until she's 13 to play (November), but that more because we've only got one decent computer for gaming in the house, and I don't want to give her yet another reason to hog it!

lol - he'll be playing at my ex-wifes for most of the time he's online so I don't have those IT issues! Unfortunately for him I am stricter than his mum when it comes to time using 'gadgets' as I much prefer he (& siblings) play outside/not computer based games!

PS: I'll have you know that none of my three know a rude word between them, they still think babies come from storks and all believe in fairies at the bottom of the garden wink

I got a Billotte's Medal for the first time yesterday, in my Japanese premium Chi Nu Kai.

This is .."Awarded to players who destroy at least two enemy vehicles and survive the battle despite receiving at least five different critical hits and losing 80% or more of their hit points. Destroyed enemy vehicles count after all damage is received."

We were defending the cap on Erlenberg and it was a tight game. I was very close when they started to cap, so went to intervene.

I shot their Stug and then got wrecked by what i thought at the time it their artillery, but looking at the replay it was the Stug's derp gun. He knocked out my commander, gunner, loader, radio and turret in one hit. I finished him off then had to dance around a building with the turret stuck at 45 degrees to my left. Luckily I managed to shoot the Chi-To that was after me twice to take him out too. I might have been able to kill another tank too, but it was a T-150 and even a HE shot did nothing. He got nailed shortly after and we won. Which was nice.

Glad to see they're finally introducing anti-suicide measures in patch 9.3.

A scumbag in a game earlier said 'Bye Bye' in chat when he was the last one left and then shot a building at point blank range to kill himself.

In future, they're only get away with it a few times before they start getting bans.

I hope this comes along to the Xbox game fairly soon. At the moment, players are boycotting an admittedly fairly broken assault mode that we cannot opt out of, by suicide at the match start. This is most commonly seen when playing as the attacking side on Malinovka assault, who hardly ever win - it's not unusual to see players just drive straight into the lake at the start in order to drown themselves, the pathetic tts.

I nearly suicided by accident yesterday, trying to shoot between two pillars on the side of a building in the town centre on Lakeville, I clipped a pillar with a 152mm HE shell at point blank range, I destroyed my gun, my viewfinder and injured the driver. Doh. I'm loving this tank though, even if it is a total lumbering beast, the traverse is appalling, but it one-shots so many tanks. The T21 has recently been released on the Xbox, I've been having them as snacks all day.

Suiciders, meh, I seem to be in the minority but generally they are a rarity.

Punishing afk, now that's another matter, fully support anything that reduces these mindless wastes of space.

I had a T29 who was AFK in a game the other day on the Siegfried Line map. He was our top tier and needless to say we lost as a result - the timer ran out.

He was still sat out in the field at the end of the game, but a couple of scouts found him and started chipping away.

They couldn't kill him, but they gave him a Steel Wall medal. rolleyes

I should be able to play a few games tonight.

Fancy giving the E75 a blitz to level it up
