Hah that's great SF_Manta, good job. At least Jingles wasn't wearing his SS costumer this year smile.

Was so close to going to Tankfest myself but couldn't make it, was it as good as it sounded like it was going to be?

It's well worth seeing, but word of advice, PREBOOK! it sold out Saturday to the point you couldn't get in at all on the gate, prepaid only.

It is/was good... but IMO oversubscribed, considering most normal days you're unlucky if there are another 60people in the museum at any one time I felt it didn't work with 9500 on site! I realise they want to create a festival atmosphere and encourage younger visitors but it was just too busy- I had a good laugh at people queuing for over an hour to play WoT at the Tank museum FFS! Couldn't get close to the minor celebrities without queuing and getting your elbows out.

How hard is it for in-game fkers to just accept my Platoon requests so that I can complete some missions irked

I mean really, it makes no difference to them, I don't want to be their new fking internet buddy or anything. Just click "accept".

Ignorant aholes.

Thanks guys, am planning to get to Bovington later in the summer so will see the museum properly then and will have a decide about Tankfest for next year. Good advice about booking early, will do that if decide to go.

@Technopug - yep its very weird. I tend to just accept any that come my way then carry on regardless, not sure why anyone wouldn't really. I do think though that generally a lot of people are just a bit clueless as to what is going on and probably don't even realise they have been invited.

One tip though - the platoon invite can be left until late in the game, so if it's kills / additional damage you are after you know who to invite wink. Still counts towards the missions just as much as if invited right at the start (plus there is more of a chance they are awake and will notice it).

If anyone wants any help with missions, be it platoon ones or otherwise (like spotting damage for the LT ones) then just invite me when I'm online. I'm not always at the computer but will try to accept when around smile

It's the LT spotting ones I'm after. Total lottery, as even if I spot all game, I can't influence if my team are too rubbish to hit anything.

I'll help you too (Shininglight). I'll be your personal artillery support of you like.

Great pics there Sf_Manta. You pretty much got the whole set there I think.

I've not been to Tankfest, but I did go to Tiger Day a couple of years ago. That was very busy and we had to park right out on a rugby field. Didn't have any problem getting tickets that time, although the queue stretched out of the door. At least you can re-use the tickets all year if you want. Go in the week and you pretty much have the place to yourself.

Could QB's half-smile look any more forced? Also, it looks like Sf Manta's phone has conveniently photoshopped it's own picture to repair QB's receding hairline. He's still my favourite Youtube WOT player though <3

In all seriousness, I do owe him a debt for massively improving my tank game and giving me hours of top quality super quick edit tank video fun.

Tankfest looks cool, but when I visit the museum I'll go solo and probably on a weekday, so I can take as long as I need to.

That's cool. I heard PHJ say he was going along. His brother lives in Brighton I think he said.

Jingles lives in or around Portsmouth and Rita is living with him at the moment anyway.

Just re-installed the game again after pestering by my mate who wants to platoon to complete his missions. I uninstalled a long time ago after getting sick of the terrain and bush nerfs rendering TDs and LTs useless. He said it was much better now. rolleyes Yeah right..

Observations from 3 hours playing my usual tier 4 to 8s :

= TDs now definitely a complete waste of time. View range nerf is real and now even blind heavies spot you before you see them with the expected 1 shot outcome.
= The above due to 90% of the foliage being removed and what foliage remains has zero camo effect so may as well not be there at all. E25 used to have one of the highest camos in the game yet I'm getting lit up straight away as soon as I go behind my usual bushes, despite having a 4x trained crew in it. In early 9.x something I *never* got spotted until I was literally on top of the enemy tank, even when moving. I'm pretty sure the E25s speed and traverse has been nerfed as it's slow as fk now and takes a lightyear to turn on the spot.
= The above also foliage nerf renders LTs a waste of time as you're constantly spotted.

I also don't get what the additional symbols represent that they've now added. I have XVM installed and 6th sense on my commanders so the light bulb pops up when spotted, but then after that goes off another symbol pops up about 5 seconds later saying I'm spotted and a pair of binos appear which look like part of the actual game. Yet sometimes those appear and I don't get the XVM light bulb. I'm even getting the spotted symbol when playing tanks that don't even have a 6th sense skilled commander yet it seems completely random and unreliable. I had it appear within 20 seconds of starting a game on Himmelsdorf when I'd only just moved off the cap and absolutely zero chance of anything from the other team spotting me that early.

The game is so unbalanced now it's ridiculous. Just not enjoyable anymore and the only people still playing it a lot are the obsessed WN8 stat padders that are addicted to their stats and can't bear to be away from the game in case someone gets a better WN8 than them.

The spotted symbol that pops up isn't to indicate that you have been spotted, but that you have spotted someone for the first time (i.e before anyone else on your team did). It's quite handy when scouting if you have a mission to get spots / damage as you know you will be getting the credit for it.

Agee Td's are much harder to play now though, they have gone way to far in regards to reducing their strengths - the changes you mentioned, corridor maps etc. It's frustrating but the game seems cyclical - currently mediums seem to rule the roost overall, but the pen nerfs they mentioned suggest they are looking at that situation, so expect heavies will be the new weapon of choice within several months. Then eventually they will be nerfed / the meta will change to favour something else again (depending on what WG need people to spend money on no doubt).

Oh and how is it now that often the enemy team consists entirely of clans that all have a flashing star next to their name? I'm lead to believe that means they're all talking to each other which would explain why everytime we encounter one the game is over in less than 2 mins 1-14 if we're lucky. I thought that having an entire team clearly wired up like that was only an option in tank companies, not regular battles.

It's just something else on top of all the other st they've nerfed over the past year that has ruined the game.

I've not had a monster game in my 704 in quite a while now, and the arty seems to have gotten much worse, as in even more OP.
