I managed to have a brilliant day yesterday going up the British TD line with the current 1.25 bonus for every battle (xbox). I bought the Alecto around midday with 75% crew and by evening I had it fully unlocked with 100% crew and ready to move onto the AT-2. I managed a 60% win rate in it which is pretty decent and it definitely suited my play style.

I'm not using any premium time or gold ammo and normally I only play for 2-3 hours a week as an absolute max so I'm chuffed.

I also unlocked the KV1 which is my first heavy so I'm looking forward to pushing on with it and unlocking a few upgrades.

My absolute worst, most hateful tank at the minute is the Pz 38nA. I always get into battles where the gun can't penetrate anything and I'm crap at scouting.

Good job smile

Light tanks can be very situational, some maps favour them as scouts more than others. Anything with undulating terrain is usually fairly good for scouting, whereas urban environments and anything flat and exposed tend not to be very good, though if you know what you are doing (I don't with scouts tbh, most of mine have been getting lucky) I am sure you can be fairly effective in those environments too. The other big problem with scouting is the teams you get saddled with in random battles, if they are clueless then you are stuffed no matter what.

I prefer heavy tanks, TD's and Arty (in small doses) and mediums are fun when working as a platoon with voice comms, three Cromwell’s can wreak havoc on an enemy team if they all lemming train.

Playing light tanks is usually a thankless task, but I need to work on my spotting. I'm still over 3,000 spots short of a Popel's Medal 1st class.

I like light tanks that have a reasonable gun such as the ELC AMX, T71 or WZ-131, so you can harass and finish off low health enemy tanks & scumbags. It helps cover up for the general uselessness of most of your team mates.

This game can be so seriously troll that I think only alcohol can help to make sense of it.

I have been on a real winning streak recently. Played 25 games and only lost 5 of them for an 80% WR and an average WN8 of 2k (good for me) smokin

However I did keep track of the number of times the game gave me top tier read as I was wearing my tin foil hat at the time and was paranoid that the game was out to get me.

Out of the last 25 games I was top tier exactly 4 times, and 3 of those were in the last 3 games I played. And in those 3 games I played the FCM 50T, the T54E1 and the M46 Patton. Those 3 tanks can only see +1 MM at worst anyway.

Take those 3 out of the number and I was top tier for 1 game out of the last 22.

Hmmm, just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you.

If you're playing a stock tank you'll get put in worse teams too I've noticed. Gotta keep that gold rolling in.

No tin foil hat required. I don't care how much WG say it's bks, high rated players get different MM. You can see this quite clearly if you use XVM. When the game is loading in look at the personal rating of all the other players and their position in the tier list. Roughly 80% of the time the majority of the players that are top tier will have a rating <4k = generally the yellow, orange and red players. Players rated >5k usually get bottom tier unless they're playing a gold tank or in a platoon with someone playing a gold tank (but there's probably an element of premium MM involved here too which distorts the picture).

If you're a decent player with a rating over 5k try it yourself with a re-roll account. I'm nearly 6k on my primary account but also have a re-roll account where I'm currently about 3k yet I'm nearly always top tier on the re-roll but I can't remember the last time I was top tier on my primary account. It's way too predictable and happens too often to be coincidental imho.

Do you mean Wargaming's own player rating? Where does it show that, other than on the WoT website?

XVM doesn't show it. Can it be configured to?

My personal rating is showing as 7713 to me. I think you're looking at bstb3's. He's such a stat padder. biggrin

A few screenshots from one of the training missions on the Xbox. I turned some HUD elements off to try and get cleaner pictures. The new dynamic lighting is amazing. When you knock street lamps over, they trail shadows down the walls and the area falls dark as the break. Firing guns and destroying explosive environmental elements in dark streets looks amazing, the flashes of light are incredible.

That is my T95E2 looking rather snazzy.

There's a screenshot of game results from one of your gameplays further up this thread that was posted by you and it shows bstb3 as your username.

The default XVM config shows the player personal ratings. You don't have to change anything.

I think there is something to the MM "conspiracy" a while ago I didn't have vast amounts of time to play so I was just doing ad hoc premium days as it worked out cheaper than premiuming for a month and hardly using it. During that time I was getting fairly decent MM on the teams, recently I premiumed up for a month and it has gone to rat st. Its almost like its gone "ha ha, got your gold now - have some of this".

Mastodon those 360 pics look awesome, really wish they would do something like that for the PC, but they don't as too many users are still on potato powered machines frown

These are pics from the newly released Xbox One version, it went onto proper release today after a beta weekend a few weeks back.

We've got some pretty cool stuff in the founder's pack, the T95E2 pictured above, the AMX Chaffee which I think is new and the MTLS-1G14, which I believe has been sold on the Chinese server before.

The AMX Chaffee is bloody brilliant, the best bits of both French and American light tanks. It's got a 75mm autoloader with 6 round drum, 810 average clip damage potential and it's bloody fast and turns like a Chaffee. Tier 6 and plays up to tier 10.

This is a funny old thing. WG initially said it would never see the light of day, but then they sold it on the Chinese server. It's comically OP in some matches, utterly useless in others. With mostly tier 3 enemies, it can dominate with the incredible (for tier 3) average clip damage of 400. It's quick enough, but it's big and has poor view range. It's not really a scout, it's best as an ambush hunter, flanking the enemy and causing carnage, particularly in platoons. The guns have poor accuracy, 400m max range (by which point their pen is greatly diminished anyway) but a quick aim time at 1.7 seconds. Loading a clip of high explosive and catching camping TDs from the sides and rear is a good laugh, hitting them in their zero armour zones, seeing all the module hit indicators flash up before they die, what a lol. That is a new feature on the Xbox, we now have clearer indication that we've damaged enemy modules, as an icon of the damage module flashes next to the target tank as it takes a hit, very handy and helps to see in the heat of battle who is hurting where.

The T95E2 could be a great tank. I understand that the PC version was a gift tank for the referral program that saw tier 10 with a 173mm pen gun, and got no premium silver or XP bonus. This has been fixed for the XB1, with the tank getting pref mm and silver + XP boost. 173mm pen still needs careful use to penetrate hits, and the premium round is not as good as the Super Pershing, the T95E2 gets a 250mm HEAT round vs the SP's 258mm HVAP (APCR) round. The T95E2 has worse armour but the most incredible troll slope at the front, but gets much greater mobility than the SP to compensate.

Overall, I'm very much looking forward to getting stuck into these tanks, especially as there are Founder Pack ops on giving away additional premium time for getting certain amounts of XP in each.

Tank models look not much different to the PC version, lighting looks better (probably a patch on the way) but the surface textures don't look great.

However that does look like rain! Thats a nice touch, they are adding weather to WoWs so will be interesting if its also coming to tanks.
