I don't know how many play WOT Blitz on iPad but the latest version is out with clans.

So I went to set up a PH clan and they want 1million credits to create it! Are they for real??? It takes months to get that sort of money so for me not to spend it on a tank is crazy.
WOT Blitz looks pretty awful, one of my friends plays it and I don't know why he doesn't just get the PC or Xbox version. They're free too, after all!

Also, a million silver isn't much, it's an evening in a tier 8 premium at the most.

I've now got the VK45.02B fully upgraded, I was worried that the decrease in accuracy, ROF and turret traverse would spoil the tank, but it hasn't hurt it, in fact the new gun is a massive improvement (though I still liked the .34 accuracy better than the .37!) and I'm really enjoying this tank. I love playing the defender, area-denial game, or using it offensively like a slow, unstoppable tide of steel. Once I've got the Maus, I'll probably transfer my VK crew over and train up a secondary crew to sit in the VK for fun. Then, I'll be down to about 4 million credits I expect, so I will crew train in my tier 8 premiums until I'm back to 15 million or so.
I enjoy it, sold my Xbox and only have PS3 now and the laptop is 4 years old and getting 9fps on world of warships. I don't know if the money is different on iOS but I have a tier 7 Panther and a weekend will get me nowhere near 1mil.

complete crap last night, 5 kills and 6k damage in my 704, still lost.

6 - 0 to the match maker.
Trouble is that they've emailed everybody, so all the twunts, griefers and retards have come out to play.

I had a game earlier with the Centurion 7/1 where an AMX CDC spent the entire time driving in front of my gun, bumping in to me so I couldn't aim etc. This was someone with 13K games and a 51% win rate mind you, not some 45% stter with access to mummy's credit card.

Do they turn the crit % up at the x5 weekends too? Had 6 games this evening, I think my ammo rack was damaged in 5 of them and crew knocked out in 4. My platoon buddy in his Tiger II (which is a bit fragile at the best of times) had his engine taken out with the first shot 3 games in a row, and in one game twice.
This isn't how it normally is!

As I become ever more excited about owning a Maus, can we just take a minute to consider the scale of this thing...

Gamescom mission this weekend (Thu to Monday). 200k xp (must be in top 10) for a Dicker Max... Thats a lot of xp for an ok tank, but at least its an excuse to repost this - a remarkably fresh faced circon introducing the Vacuumer Max....

I won't be doing that. Not worth it.
Well what do I know? With the X5 XP I managed to get the Dicker Max after just 2 days. type

My E-75 has the big gun now, so that's nice. I didn't realise it's the same gun the Maus has & the stock one on the E-100.

If I ever went down the Maus line I'd have to start at tier 2, so by the time I get to the VK4502B it'd probably be replaced anyway. It's a pity there's no crossover between the 2 German heavy lines.

Well, after Thursday night my luck has turned to ratst.

I don't know if it's the x5 XP or the race for the Dicker Max but it seems to have turned good players (well, players with good stats) into utter buffoons making really elementary mistakes.

I'm not a great player but I've played 41 games in the last 24 hours with 984 WN8 and a win rate of frigging 35%.

Going to go and calm down now!

Well done on the Dicker Max, Beati. I'm on 103K but I don't know if I'll make it unless my luck changes back.

Interesting reading - grab a coffee

http://lightquick.co.uk/world-of-tanks-is-the-matc...

Basically confirms what I've suspected for a long time now - MM is rigged once you reach a certain WR and explains why you only get top tier about 1:10 games on average.

Grats on the D.Max Beati, hope its fun. Contemplated playing this weekend to have a go for it, but probably don't have the time and even when I did log in I just looked at the tanks and logged out again hehe. Think I need another week or so WOT detox yet, so the hoover max has come a little soon, but oh well.

Re the matchfixing thing - that article has been doing the rounds for a long time, and there are are lot of people who agree with it and equally many that don't. I've been on the end of some very odd runs in my 23k games, but it didn't matter because I was having fun. When I stopped having fun I went and did something else - that's probably the best advice then it doesn't really matter if they are fixing it or not. wink

FWIW I don't think there is much manipulation - they can't even get the MM weightings right all the time, so how they manage to manipulate the teams to try and boost some people and not others is beyond me. If I'm getting nerfed by being made bottom tier, so expected to lose then the other 14 on my team are also expected to lose. Often though if they are sub 45% win raters shouldn't they be the ones being boosted? Or is the proposition that those being boosted are the paying customers, in which case why a correlation between high WN8 and WR, for example? Paying doesn't mean you know how to drive your tank - so you would see many high WR low WN8 accounts, or at least many skewed WN8 WR relationships, and I can't say that I do see that pattern. I just doubt they have the sophistication to make such fixing work properly tbh, without making it so massively obvious at the same time.

I do think there is some management of top / bottom tier but only in the sense of new tanks get top tier for a few games, or to prevent you getting too many top / bottom tier games in a row, but it's not massive.

Anyway, supposed to be paying attention to wife so...

Well, my regular platoon buddies router has blown up, and apparently Sky don't allow the use of 3rd party routers so he is without internet. Further to that, he changes to BT next weekend, so Sky won't give him another router for the last few days he is with them. Looks like I'm solo tanking unless I've got some other mates on. So frustrating to not even have one other player on side that I can trust.

Interesting. I have my own theories as to how they do it.

BTW, what a bloody awful layout on that website. It doesn't render properly on a mobile and you have to use zoom on a desktop to read the tiny text.

My win rate over the last 3 days of the x5 special:

Thurs: 58.5% (after about 40 games)
Fri: 50% (it was 43% until I started platooning)
Sat: 83% (10 wins from 12 games - so lucky)

So I've very much got away with it. For now. I'm sure I'll be re-adjusted to the mean shortly.

Here are my stats for the last day and a bit.

Rubbish!

However, I'm over 170K XP now so the Dicker Max is in sight!

I give up (again). This game is in the same category as IL2, I want to love it but PvP is too blooming hard. I keep getting blown up by tanks I can't see, yet they all know exactly where I am, my shells just bounce off while everyone kills me with one shot, and why do tanks keep disappearing when they are right in my sights and I've hit them? When I get killed most of the time I don't even know what happened so I can't learn anything.

bks.
We've all been there! There is a lot of stuff to learn how to play.

One thing I dont like is the view distance and disappearing tanks. I see a tank out in the open then it vanishes for no good reason (outside of stupid game mechanics).

All this post says is "I don't understand the game mechanics". There is no shortage of resources available to learn, get on it, the WOTwiki is a good place to start, go there and click on the "Gameplay Mechanics" section, read everything, then read it all again.

I don't really like the visibility mechanic. It's silly if there are two tanks in open ground one can see the other, but not vice versa, due to viewing range attributes which all the skilled players boost with training, making the noobs easy pickings. If it's in line of sight I should be able to see it.
Except if everyone were visible all the time then the game would just be skewed towards having the most accurate guns and it would turn into a total campfest. You can't train a crew to have longer view range, you can change tank though and add equipment. Everyone is capped at 445m spotting range.

Seriously, put less energy into complaining and more into learning, you'll enjoy the game once you understand it.

The mechanics where a visible tank in your view range with no cover suddenly disappears sucks though. I dont know why they have this happen. (I know the game mechanics, its just stupid)

It's not an easy game and it takes a long time to become proficient at it. Most never will.

The Recon commander skill adds an extra 2% to view range and Situational Awareness on the radio man adds another 3%.

Brothers in Arms on all the crew adds another 5% too.

But few tanks below probably tier 6 will use optics or have any of these crew skills.

Only a dedicated seal clubber will have some, or all of these - and they're really quite rare.

I played around 2K games and was at the point of stopping as I just wasn't improving

What really did help was teaming up with a much better player who was able to give me some 'coaching'.

As a result of that I joined a clan and that has really made the difference. It's now become much more of a social thing (most of my clan are Dutch and it's been very interesting learning about life in Holland and picking up the Dutch language).

WOT isn't really a 'pick up and put down' type of game but, as others have said, it is much better when you understand how it works.

RNG trolled me hard last night

25% WR after 8 games, many many bounces, 6 off a Conqueror with my M62 armed IS8, and the Conq penned me every time, no thanks WOT, I'm not playing when your plainly cheating by cranking up the RNG so lopsided against certain players.

I'll take tonight off.

Had a game with one of the 'VBRJ' clan a couple of weeks ago, and would be interested in joining.

http://www.noobmeter.com/player/eu/gastricband/516...

Don't get that much opportunity to play at the moment, but platooning could balance out some of the silly rng/mm issues at the mo.
