Patch 9.9 is so buggy still. It crashes to desktop during the countdown every 5 or 6 games.
If I change from full screen to windowed it crashes the graphics driver & I have to kill the game and restart.
Anyone else having issues? If so what graphics card are you using? Mine is an ATI 5870 on Windows 8.1
I am using a 1.5GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 580 and have CtD a couple of times per session. I am on windows 7. All of the previous updates were more or less stable even with mods installed. This one...not so much.If I change from full screen to windowed it crashes the graphics driver & I have to kill the game and restart.

I know it's probably already been tried, but do the crashing problems happen with a vanilla client from a full clean reinstall (rather than a patched update)? Have noticed a couple of times in the past people have had issues with a slightly dodgy / corrupt install of the client which causes all kinds of problems.
Longshot and probably not this, but you never know.
Game has been very stable for me since 9.8, but that also coincided with a new pc build. Prior to that it would ctd every so often, most often on loading in / out of a battle but occasionally mid battle too.
8.1 with Nvidia GTX970 here with no problems, Win 7 with Radeon R9 before that (with the problems).

Mine is a patched version, but reading up on the forums it happens to clean installs too. I use Anfield's mod pack.
Changing from full screen to windowed crashes the graphics driver, but changing from windowed to full screen does not.
Other problems include chat sometimes not working (don't think I was chat banned the other day after all ) and occasional lag spikes.
I have it installed on an SSD, so it doesn't take too long to get back in - if I notice. I always minimize the game as soon as I click Battle though. The tray icon normally flashes red about 5 seconds before the game starts, but if the game crashes it disappears.
Maybe I will send the VK game to Jingles. For his epic fail category.

Great effort!
The only Radley-Walters medal I've got so far is on my Jagdtiger. Can't see me repeating it soon going on current form.
Thanks, I've had 9 kills and lost once before, with the Jagdpanther. I ran out of ammo that time, which is the reason I take very few HE shells any more. The only Radley-Walters medal I've got so far is on my Jagdtiger. Can't see me repeating it soon going on current form.

The chat not working used to happen to me too - it happens when you get kicked from the game, loading back in first time seems to not reconnect you to the chat part of the client, so typing / pinging the map / using the hotkeys or Z radial menu doesn't work. Only fix is to log out properly, then log back in.
Alternatively leaving it not working gives a nice respite from the keyboard warriors and map clickers, so I tended just to see it as a silver lining
p.s. bad luck on the loss, haven't seen it (and the picture isn't loading at work for some reason) but 9 kills and losing is a sore one.

This is true but you do get some delightfully amusing comments occasionally, I was accused of "outright cheating" the other day in the ELC because I just side-hugged a Tiger I'd shot while I reloaded so he couldn't shoot me, the other people who'd already died and where in chat tore him to strips, almost peed myself laughing... the I shot his tank in the arse and killed him :-) He called me a "looser noob" plus a few expletives, I love it when people can't learn simple game mechanics.

Yeah, I nailed a T29 last night in the commander's hatch with my SU-152 derp gun & he started whining about me using HEAT. I told him "that's all I carry" to wind him up a little (I do have some HE). He said I should learn to play. I told him "I think I just did, Mr Dead".
Wind up merchant :-)It amuses me that people moan about premium ammo, its not like they couldn't buy it themselves and depending on the mystery of the MM without a few rounds you would sometimes be unable to pen any tank in the match!
BTW- Anyone notice in the new, anniversary garage the double barrelled Mammoth Tank from Command & Conquer at the bottom of the spiral floor? You have to zoom out and throw the camera position about to see it.

I think that monstrosity is actually supposed to be a Ratte Land cruiser. Apparently it could have a crew of between 20 and 40!We need this in WoT!

Interesting, thanks. I like his modpack and I'm loath to remove it. If circon would get rid of his stupid colour blind settings I'd probably try that.
BTW the 9.10 test server is available now.

You can try the new Japanese heavy line. They're not as bad as they look it seems.

I know it's a long, long way off yet but I can't wait to play the Japanese heavy tanks. We still don't have the new light tank lines on Xbox yet, let alone the new French tanks, new premiums etc. That said, I should remember that we are 4 years younger than the PC version and before new tanks, I want more bloody maps.
I think they got the new Overlord map right first time, but usually the maps suck and they have to keep changing things to make them more balanced. The problem is the dominance of stupidly OP artillery, which is why they went through a stage of creating corridor maps. They also thinned out the bushes and nerfed TD view range and stealth to make them less powerful.
They'll be removing Hidden Village and Pearl River when 9.10 comes out. I'm not sure why, as they're hardly the worst maps.
I'd rather see an end to Highway and restrict Mines to lower tier tanks like they did with Wide Park.

Hidden Village has been a fail right from the start although I preferred the original map to the current one as there's nowhere for TDs to go now and the towny bit is still rarely used.I'd rather see an end to Highway and restrict Mines to lower tier tanks like they did with Wide Park.
Highway I don't mind, although I think the open areas need some hard cover as generally once you're spotted out in the open on that map you're dead shortly after.
The ones I don't like are those new towny ones, Kharkov and the other one that's a bit like Himmelsdorf but on the flat and has a railway line and sea down one side in a dip. I don't like Overlord either and nor the re-do of Sacred Valley. I thought Pearl River was OK. It's a bit of a 'busy' map for getting around but I've never had any real problems with it.
What happened to that open flat grassy one with small collection of houses on a mound in the middle with those anti-tank cross things blocking access? I've not played that one for months and quite liked it. Has it been removed?

They kept redesigning it and at one point it went to no higher than tier 8, but pretty sure its gone completely now. Haven't seen it in an age, but it's still on the Wiki so who knows.
