Love my t20, have my best winrate in it despite it not being a popular medium, a real jack of all trade tanks.

The M48 is the goal though, the "worst" tier X medium and completely and utterly devastating.

Anything else! The Russians are the strongest really, with the T62-A and the Object 140 being extremely strong and the Object 430 maybe being a little behind them but still extremely dangerous. They're small, fast, have very high DPM, good guns and great turrets. Generally they don't have amazing gun depression, but overall have very strong stats.

The other tanks are a bit more niche in playstyle, the British FV4202 is a bit of an unusual one, slow-ish for a medium, with no gun mantlet, troll armour and solid DPM. The German E50M is a a heavily armoured beast with lower mobility and the lowest DPM of the tech tree tier X mediums, but still has a very accurate gun. The German Leopard 1 has practically no armour and amazing gun stats, with super quick aim time and amazing accuracy. The Japanese STB-1 is similar to a Leopard 1 but with more armour, particularly on the turret and the highest DPM of a non-Russian medium, but at the cost of comparatively poor gun handling. The Chinese 121 has high alpha for a medium, high DPM and a very thick and rounded turret, but has poor gun handling and is generally a bit lacklustre in other areas.

Then we have the M48 Patton, which was the first tier X medium and had great shoot on the move accuracy, which got nerfed away. Then they added more and more mediums, all of which did most things better than the M48, making the Patton less and less relevant on the field, also known as "powercreep". Now the Patton doesn't have the best armour, the best gun stats, the best mobility etc, as far as I know the only area where it really wins is view range, but then pretty much anyone with a brain is running coated optics and Brothers in Arms on tier X meds, so everyone hits the spotting range cap anyway. And yet, despite what the naysayers will proclaim, I find the Patton to be deadly on the field. It still shoots well on the move, it can peek and poke ridgelines very well with it's depression, it doesn't suffer badly from reticule bloom on the move, meaning it feels like it aims very quickly. You probably know about the "soft" or "hidden" stats - the Patton is a tank that looks bad when you see WG's public stats, but the hidden stats you don't see make it a good tank.

What it all boils down to though, is that there is no bad tier X medium. They're not the easiest tanks to play as you can quickly get wrecked by even tier 8s if you play badly, but their attributes - speed, agility, high DPM, accurate guns with very high shell velocity etc, make them very powerful in the right hands.

It's one of those tanks that I've kept and absolutely loved levelling (once it was upgraded at least), you don't see very often but I had some great games in it (my stats will probably say otherwise mind hehe) and I still break it out if my platoon buddy needs a tier 7 to go with. In fact the US tanks are probably my favourites around that level - the two tier 6 Shermans were fun in their own way, though obviously the jumbo isn't as good now armour doesn't do as much.
One of these days I'll grind up to the tier 10 tanks but I tend to stall at tier 8, but other games are taking over at the moment.

Does anyone know when the M4A1 Sherman Revalorisé is going to be released? I've done some Googling but have drawn a blank.

Had some utterly terrible games last night (and was in a 3 man platoon too) and some half decent ones this morning.

Another KV4 game where I just sat there taking shots and dishing them out. Not as good as the other day but I still think we won due to me tieing up 4 of their heavies.

(That was balanced by a tier 10 game where I got blasted to pieces!)

They haven't said they the new premiums are coming out yet, or how exactly you'll be able to get a T-22.

The 10.0 test server may be out shortly though.

Also, Armored Warfare [sic] goes into open beta tomorrow (8th Oct), so anyone can sign up and play.

A bit of a mixed bag for me on WOT this evening, a better win rate than last night but still ending at 47% over the last few days - running at 2500 wn8, I've felt that I've performed well but haven't always been able to carry as hard as I needed to in order to get the wins. I did rage out tonight though, having two games in a row where I was nailed with a one-shot by an M53/55 and a GwTiger respectively, both within 2 minutes of starting. When the anger levels start to reach critical levels and the game stops being fun it's better just to play something else. Trying to battle on just hammers your XP earning rate as you play badly and it makes me want to break longer, affecting my grind rate in the long run.

The M41B, a Brazilian M41 with the 90mm HESH/HEAT gun from the T49, arrives on sale tomorrow for the Xbox to celebrate some national children's day in Brazil. It will be an interesting tank to play, I've already had a spin in it in the bot training mode, it's got a HEP (US HESH) primary round with 102mm pen, a premium HEAT with 250mm and a HE round with 45mm pen. It will be fun hunting waffles, arty and other soft skin tanks, but it will need premium ammo just to pen the rear or an E-100 or JPE-100. I think judicious use of the HEAT rounds will be needed, so this probably won't be a super-earning tier 8 premium like some of the others. It also has some Brazilian flags and army insignia on it, which ties in with the comments often heard about Brazilian players being the worst overall as a nation at WOT (not sure if this is an Xbox thing or the belief is also held on the PC) so it acts as a wolf in sheep's clothing type camo, people will see the Brazilian flag on the track cover and think it's a Brazilian and therefore easy meat. I'll probably pick one up, get into the swing of high tier US light playing, as WG hinted very heavily in the announcement article that the tier 6, 7 and 8 American lights are coming soon, some time within the next month I'd guess.

Yeah it does make me laugh when I see that.

The only cheats I've seen are people using the one that removes foliage. My T62A was shot by an E-100 re-roll that could not possibly have seen me otherwise. He didn't even hesitate.

the only cheating I see is when the game cranks the RNG up against you and you get 14 bounces out of 16 shots.

The M4A1 Revalorise is in the Premium shop on the RU server with a garage slot only for £20.

Unfortunately they'll probably bundle it on the other servers with loads of other st for £50 or more.

There is no true "cheating" as such, no invincible tanks, no guns that pen every single shot etc, but there are mods to tilt the playing field, such as the aforementioned mods that removes bushes and one that paints enemy tank skins with their weakspots. AFAIK, WG scan for these mods and remove players using them, but quite how good they are at detecting users no one really knows.

Given how many bots I've come across I suspect Wargaming don't really give a toss as long as the spondoolicks keep rolling in.

I picked up the M41B Brazil, what a great little tank. It's totally not a carry tank, but it is great fun. It needs to be played like an active scout and take shots of opportunity, it's HEP(US HESH)/HEAT/HE gun means it cannot circle heavies as it can't even pen some high tier heavy rears without using HEAT, and as we know, HEAT is a gamble when shooting through tracks at the best of times. The HEP cannon would be devastating if it ever got top tier, but I'd be surprised if it ever does, every game I played in it tonight was tier 9 or 10.

I've had some great games in it so far, sometimes it can be hard to get the damage out when you're shooting the flat side of a KV-4 turret and rolling 60 damage a pop, but other times you find a waffle looking the other way, before you know it you've put 1000 damage into him and by the time he turns his gun around you've already disappeared.

I haven't played any of the newer US lights other than the tier 5 Chaffee, which is a bit gutless. The regular M41 Walker Bulldog is supposed to be pretty good, but then so's the T71 which is what I'm playing now.

BTW, the PC 10.0 test server is up. It's buggy and crashing a lot apparently. I watched Anfield trying it out while dodging the obligatory Russian team killers.

The Centurion Action X has replaced the FV4202 tier 10 medium. It looks good, similar to the Centurion 7/1 but with a camo net rolled up in the turret shopping basket and an infra-red spotlight on the turret roof.

The old FV4202 is now a Premium vehicle. Not sure how this works for people who have it already yet.

The Chieftain is only available for super testers at the moment. Hopefully that'll change as the test server goes through its various iterations.
